A FRIEND?

Ulanni bowed her head in embarrassment, she just wanted to thank her for helping her but now she was looked upon like she was stupid.

All she wanted to do right at this moment was to dig a hole and bury her head.

"Hey you don't have to sound mean to her she was just thanking you, and besides a little ' you are welcome '

would have sufficed" Sarah stood up for Ulanni.

"But you don't thank people for such small things" Flint looked genuinely confused now, and trying to remember when she was told thank you back at her realm for such little things like this.

Immediately coming back to her senses, and to the harsh realization that she was no longer back home, she was in a new realm,

The human realm and things would be different from how they were done back at home.

"You are welcome .." repeating what Sarah had said earlier, Flint replied in a monotone voice.

"It's okay " Ulanni reassured her "Let's go".

Saying this the three of them made their way to the dining area, following behind some other children.

On getting to the dining area, Flint separated herself from the other two girls and made her way to the far corner of the room.

Sarah and Ulanni stood and stared at her, turned back walking away "I told you to leave her alone, she doesn't want to make any friends" Sarah pointed out.

"But she helped me, Sarah, ..." Ulanni said all the while keeping her eyes on Flint.

"You know you can't force someone to be your friend." Sarah said.

"You are right Sarah" Ulanni answered.

And I know you will do no such thing, so let's go get a table alright" Sarah said already moving towards the opposite side of the room, but stopped when she didn't hear Ulanni's footsteps behind her,

Turning to look at what was keeping her again, and to her dismay, Ulanni was making her towards where Flint was seated.

"I said let's get a table, not go to her table Ulanni! " Sarah screamed through the mind link.

"But I want to seat with her, she seems lonely.." Came Ulanni's tender voice.

Releasing a sigh, she schooled her features and silently made her way toward Ulanni.

"Hey, can we seat with you" Ulanni asked Flint politely.

"You don't need to ask, she doesn't own the table " Sarah scoffed and plopped down unto the seat opposite Flint.

Ulanni kept staring at Flint and waiting for an invitation but received none. "Ummm I would take your silence as a ' Yes' then! " Ulanni said trying to lighten the mood and sitting down right next to Sarah.

Ulan asked, "Why aren't we going to get our food up front ?"

"Ulanni, take a look there is nobody at the stand! " Sarah said as if stating the obvious.

"Oh, I didn't notice" then turning to face Flint she asked "So... hmm... what is your name?" Ulanni asked breaking the silence.

"Are you trying to be close to me because I was named leader ?" Flint bit out harshly.

"No, no, I just wanted to be friends with you, nothing else.." Ulanni hurriedly denied, she didn't finish her sentence as Sarah dragged her up harshly from the stool.

"You know you should learn to be nice, not everyone wants something from you... let's go Ulanni. " Saying this Sarah dragged Ulanni away from where Flint was seated with a hurt Ulanni in tow.

"She is so full of herself, look how you embarrassed yourself, I have told you from the very beginning to leave her be but you wouldn't listen, people like her always feel, entitled and proud..."

Sarah stopped her scolding when she saw Ulanni's eyes start going misty "Hey I didn't mean to sound harsh, but it seems the girl wants to be left alone" Sarah said softly to Ulanni.

"I know ..." Ulanni muttered, squeezing her eyes tightly and reopening them,

"let's go find a table" Ulanni said with a smile.

After looking around they were able to find a seat in a good spot. It was already occupied by four people, leaving only four empty seats after they sat down.

They didn't have to wait long before some seniors started to make their way in, with big pots in their hands and some others following behind with some other things in bowls.

As they came closer towards the left corner of the room, close to where Flint sat, she immediately recognized some of the faces carrying the pots and bowls in,

They were the same group of seniors who made jest of her and the other kids earlier today when Black had brought them here.

The seniors moved to drop what they were carrying, with embarrassment coloring their faces red.

"It seems Black had heard what they said, and is now punishing them..." The whole thing just sounded funny to her.

She looked around and her eyes caught, the pink-haired girl from before, staring right at her, the girl tried waving at her, but the blue-headed girl pushed her hand back to her side, and said something to her which made the other girl lower her head.

Now that she thought of it, it seems like she had come off too rude to the girl, at least she should trust her instinct the girl smelled pure.

But she just couldn't get her head around why someone would just be so nice to her, except they wanted something from her.

Sighing, "I would have to find a chance to apologize to her it wouldn't hurt to make a new friend" She thought, But it seems the blue-haired girl doesn't like me..."
