[ Alex's POV ]

My name is Alexander Clinton, but my family and friends usually call me Alex, a typical nickname for the name Alexander. I am 14 years old this year and am attending my last year at high school.

You might be surprised as students in this world normally enter colleges at the age of 15. This is because the world I am living in is completely different from that of yours.

The name of this planet is Giantus, as it is the largest planet in our Solar System. Also one of the five only inhabitible planets in the solar system, though we, humans, weren't able to reach the other four as of yet.

Also, this world has an abundant amount of spiritual energy and therefore, humans were able to walk on the path of the most powerful profession in existence, the Rune Masters, a thousand years ago.

The Rune Masters are the highest ranked profession in my world. This profession deals with Rune Cards and hence the name Rune Masters.

The so called Rune Cards is simply a card-shaped piece of material that could seal various types of powers in it. These powers varies from beasts, natural phenomenas, weapons, potions, items,and many more.

But in order to become a rune masters and create rune cards, one must first learn about runes. Runes are simply a combination of strange symbols that have different types of abilities depending on the symbols used.

Though strange enough, generally only females are able to master these runes. Out of the total number of rune masters currently known in the world, 95% of them are women. Hence it didn't took long for the world to become dominated by women.

Thus, it has been my life long dream to become a rune master. For this I have studied wholeheartedly each and everyday.I out all of my focus just on becoming a rune master.

Fortunately, the lady luck appeared to be smiling on me or so I thought, as I was tested to have an average aptitude for becoming a rune master at the age of ten. Though it was average, it was still a thousand times better than none.

No, wait! That doesn't sound right. Simply because the two things couldn't be compared at all. Afterall, even if I am to multiply zero by a million or even a billion, it will still be a bloody damn zero. Hence, it could never be compared to my average aptitude.

Lucky for me, though my talent was considered average of it was for females, it was considered that of a genius if I am look at the aptitudes of only males.

I was happy, extremely happy that I will at least have the chance to change my life for better. But that only got worse as my very own father was jealous of my talent.

Well, when you heard me saying that it is a world dominated by women, all of you must have thought that it would be the reverse of those fantasy world, and here, the women will have more than one man for themselves. But you wrong as I have to correct you that, among a random 100 unmarried females, you will find atleast 99 of them to be virgins. Sometimes, it might even be 100 out of 100.

As for those married women, they would only have a single husband and wouldn't let him thought them except for carrying their lineage.

You might be surprised to find this and even feel a bit strange but this is what it is.The truth.

Hence, the males of the family would generally want to gain the favours of the females of the family. It was also the case with my father.

Before I turned ten my father wouldn't even bother with me as he would spend most of his time except the working hours with my mother or my two genius of a sisters. He would either take them out to eat or bring expensive gifts for them.

Because of this I would only have some money that was only enough for me to buy things necessary for my study. But I didn't complain as it was already more than enough for them to not bother me.

But all of that changed when I turned ten. As it was an ideal age for all the children to test their talent, I along with my mother, Layla, my older sister, Ella and my younger, Emily went out to test our aptitudes.

Among the four, I was probably the most nervous of them all. As my entire future depends on it. Though my two sisters weren't worried as even if one of them awakened a good aptitude, the other would be happy. Afterall, the sisterly love between them was probably as deep as the Mariana Trench.

As we got out tests done, the results were provided quickly after.

Both of my sisters were tested to have an S rank aptitude, the highest a human could have due to which both of them received the invitations from the Military College the next day. Thus, when they turned 15, they will join the Military College, which was considered to be one of the three best colleges in the entire world along with the Pheonix College and the Ocean College.

As for me, I was tested to have a C rank aptitude which was considered average. But it was still enough to surprise my mother and my sisters. At the same time, increasing their favourability towards me.

But I would have never thought that my father would be jealous of his own son.

Since my mother and sisters started treating me more favourably, my father got angry and started blaming me for my existence. He would curse at me daily and would even beat me up sometimes when he was drunk.

I wanted to tell all of this to my mother but he threatened me that if I ever did that, he would definitely kill me. Hence, I could only endure it silently and make up my mind that when I get stronger, I will surely get back at him.

But soon I didn't even have to suffer anymore, as four years later, my father died in a car accident. I wasn't sad at all, instead I was even a bit happy that I could finally put all of my focus on becoming rune master. And then I will be able to live my life peacefully.

What I had no idea about was that my future wasn't going to be as simple as I imagined.
