To Go Below

"Your Highness, I don't think our enemy shown any sign of retreating…" Hazana observed the after effect of my solar wave.

"Well, we only cover 100 meters radius of a circle from the entire battlefield there's still more to clean up." The ground around me all was barren, filled with nothing but void people's corpses and their broken artillery. Meanwhile far ahead, the sword titan still approaching the wall with its menacing step.

"At least the morale of our side got boosted." After hearing Anna said that, all of our attention went to the top of the wall. We could see those Kaoma cheering while firing their musket at the enemy lines.

"Let's finish this fast, every second we waste that thing gonna get closer to destroying the wall." I firmly said.

"Roger!"

"On it!"

The six of us then continued to directly wipe the battlefield, while the Kaoma support us from above the wall using their gunpowder.

There's something unique about the chaos energy that coated us though. Because all the bullets and cannonballs were totally fused with chaos, none of it could apply mortal wound to us.

Sure getting hit by any of them stings, but it at least won't hurt us enough to distract or disable us. Actually getting bonked by cannonballs was pretty distracting.

"We did it! They're retreating!" The yell Hazana let out gave a sense of relief to my heart, especially after I saw the titan open up a portal in front of him for him to head back to its world.

The defense was a great success. Bless the Conqueror's name, thank the Sun we decided to intervene. If we just stay observing how the battle goes, that wall over there was probably gonna have a huge hole on it. That titan was the size of Grand City's gate.

"Revian, we're done here. Drive us back to the hotel." I asked the dragon, feeling a bit tired in my breath.

"As you wish, Your Highness." He quickly went to his beast form and made a room for us to enter. He also did not forget to roll a stair for us to access. But…

"Where are your wings?" I asked him. His wings are made purely out of kokkradrium, which he fully transformed into giant spikes on his back.

"We'll be moving through the ground, Your Highness." He said to me with his deep dragonic voice.

"Will it be enough air for us to breathe throughout our time down there?" I'm somewhat unconvinced with his method. Especially with the fact that I didn't know how deep those walls go.

"No need to worry about that, Your Highness. I can help you breathe." Althea suddenly popped her massive head out of the sands in front of the four of us puny humans. With the helmet she's wearing, her head alone is half Anna's height.

"How?" I'm still not convinced.

"Get to his room and you'll find out, Your Highness." It's weird how smooth and adorable her voice is even with the dept that it reached.

"Well… you're the one in charge of our lives…" It seemed that I don't have any choice but to trust her.

The four of us then went up the stairs into Revian's room. The air felt stuffy as there was no window inside, only a blank room with a couple of pillows which he always brought for us to get comfy.

"Alright Althea, show us your magic." We literally could die from hypoxia if Revian close his door.

Regardless, the she-dragon is still our healer, she won't let harm befall us unless she really wanted us to die, which I couldn't see a reason for it at least at the time.

A tiny shrine made out of kokkradrium suddenly shaped itself at the center of the room. It was crawling with pinkish fog, while a pillar at the middle of it continuously spinning, blowing something out of its body.

"Oh… this is—"

"Nice…"

The four of us can smell it, the fragrance of fresh air. It was so pure and unpolluted, my body felt relaxed just by sharing the same space with that shrine. Oh… what a blessing. I forgot she actually has done something similar with her floral stone.

"See? Told ya it's all going to be fine." There's pride flowing in the dragon girl voice.

"You're a miracle worker, Althea." I praised her, as I lay down my head on one of the pillows.

But after a while… I realized it's different than the one supplied to us in exhibit 1. I take it back about this being pure, surely it's fused with some of the Sap of Life, cause it sure felt like drugs.

"Hoaam… Althea if I got late for class, I'll put the blame on you." Chiya yawned so loud, and it echoed harder with how closed this room is.

"Noted. Then I'll drop a kokkradrium on your head if you somehow fall asleep." That dragon can actually do it. Our room is totally around her area of influence if she hangs in the so-called fancy stable. She can easily spawn any of those metals she wanted inside our room.

"Okay~" The lady proceeded to just give up and snore herself out to the comfy pillow beside her.

"Alright, Revian. Take us out of here." I then took the liberty to sleep on my back with my head rested on one of the pillows right after I gave him the order.

"We're heading off, Your Highness."

I could hear the sound of the beast burying himself in the sand, slowly getting deeper and deeper. However, when my eyes were finally fully closed, there was a tingling smell of something burning in the air.

"My Prince…"

There's something stuffed inside my nose, and I'm now forced to inhale it inside my lung.

*!!!*

It's a fire candy. I saw Anna sitting on top of my belly, stuffing the fire candy into me with her hand. She stared at me with her normal flat face yet eyebrows full of wonder.

"My Prince, I have a question." She took the candy away after seeing that I'm fully awake.

"Question?" I asked her without moving any part of my body.

"The night was quite dark back there, why there aren't any Taanji joining our fight?" Wait, she did have a point, why?

"Now that you mentioned it… the attack happened at night, the governor even told us it would happen at night. Our father's stories about the void attack always happened during the time the Sun showed herself."

That's right, back then the Kaoma would use Uhndak to fight alongside them, and they only take humanoid form at night if they're not yet reached adulthood. The void is actually smart about it and decides to attack during the daytime so the number of their enemy got significantly decreased.

Nowadays there are Guild members to help them so they abandoned cultivating the Uhndak for defense.

"Is the night at the desert is a lot safer than the night in any other region? Because it's barren?" The beloved lady of mine continued her chain of questions.

"I actually have other theories. What if the void is actually doing something with the Taanji? That's why they kept on attacking at night, to distract the attention of both Kaoma and the Guild from whatever they're doing." To be honest that sounded ridiculous.

"You have a wild imagination, My Prince."

"Thanks, I'm quite proud of it."

"But, what do you think they're doing with the Taanji if it's true?"

"I have no idea… but I'm well sure it ain't good."
