CHAPTER 3 : Awakening Ceremony

Cloud Star High school, Awakening Hall

''I wonder what class I would be awakening, at least SS_grade class is enough for me "

"Pfft...pfhahaha...haha, say brother, are you sure you are fully awake? If so, you probably bumped your head for you to crack that kind of joke".

"Bro, you can eat what you want but you can't say what you want"

"Alright, alright, can't I be allowed to boast a little ? Say, what class or bloodline do you think that guy over there can awaken "

"Yeah, that fellow is known to be the most mysterious student, and is also known to be intelligent and smart, but always try to maintain a low-key character."

The Day of Awakening is here, and all the students in the graduating classes and their respective class teachers, together with the principal were gathered in the awakening hall.

Every class were grouped up accordingly, but not orderly, because most of the students couldn't contain the joy and anticipation to awaken their classes and bloodlines.

Despite the cheerful, nervous and noisy atmosphere among the students and teachers, only one student seemed to be unaffected by atmosphere.

Among the crowd, the calm, unique looking and handsome teenager known as Tyler, rumored to be the most mysterious student, kept his gaze in from of the staged platform, with his arms behind his head while leaning on a white pillar.

If one is to observe closely, one can see that calmness that doesn't belong to someone who's just 18 years.

With his golden hair, which has slight traces of crystal white, purple and red, added to his striking handsome face, and donned with a white shirt and golden-coloured pants together with white sneakers, his get-up... no, actually his face made him stand out among the crowd.

Realizing that he seems to attract the attention of most people around him, he sighed.

It's been more than four years now, yet the students of Cloud Star High school haven't gotten used to Tyler's unique appearance, especially his multicolored hair.

Tyler has always sought to have a negligible presence, especially in school; coupled with his kinda antisocial personality, he could have gotten what he wanted. Unfortunately, his natural charm seems to disagree with his intentions.

He had tried wearing a hoodie and a mask to school, however, the school doesn't permit such dressing code amongst students.

Realizing that his efforts couldn't help much, he resort to keep his marks low and steady, contrary to his previous performances.

At least, he wouldn't stand out academically and physically. That would be too much.

According to the previous speaker, Tyler was really an intelligent and smart kid, just that after his first year in school, his marks seem to unexpectedly fall lower.

All of this was done within Tyler's calculations, thinking that he could keep that up for long. Unexpectedly, one of his subject teacher got intrigued by the fact that a once intelligent kid started getting poorer results, causing her to secretly examine and probe him. Her discovery was that Tyler seemed to exempt himself from attracting attention.

Once the news of this spread, Tyler's peaceful days gradually came to an end. Fortunately for him, this all happened during his last few months in school.

"Hah... this is a world is too dangerous for me to attract attention to myself. Until I have the power to protect myself, I'll refrain from any excessive actions", Tyler thought out loud.

Tyler, an orphan, reincarnated into this world as a baby. And without parents, grew up, in an orphanage in Cloud Star city, still clocking 18 years without knowing his parents and without anyone coming to claim him.

This world is known as Astroworld, a world advanced in technology than his previous world, and established with the cultivation of mystical powers.

This world or planet is divided into seven main continents, three seas, three large desert and four great forests.

The names of these places sound imposing, because of the change of terrain and environment over the years, after the world awakened, the existence of a game like-reality fused with the world, together with status screen over 25 million years ago.

Dangers and opportunities coexisted, helping the awakened ones to grow and have the strength to defend and protect mankind and its territories.

Secret realms, dungeons and forbidden zones appeared.

And, it was the job of the Awakened Ones to clear them and prevent beast and calamity or disaster outbreaks. And to use some of the rewards and gains to help the development of mankind and its technology, knowledge, territory expansion and so on.

Also any individual who can awaken a class will take a rise in social status and well-being.

The individual will have left the mortal life behind.

It can be said that those who can awaken can enjoy better privileges and wealth more than ordinary individuals. But it is most times in proportion to your strength and the level of dangers you face, except if you have a powerful background or family.

Unlike the situation that Tyler expected, where the awakening rate is as low as 1 in 50 or 45% out of 100%, here in Astroworld, it is as low as 1 in 5 or 95% out of 100% in a group.

In some cases, it is possible for a whole class to be awakened.

"Tyler!"

"Tyler!!"

A strong chest nudge jolted Tyler back to reality and out of his thoughtful and narrative thoughts.

"Tyler, what are you daydreaming about ? Snap out of it, cos you are second next in the roll call to be called up to the stage"

Tyler looked at his so-called friend who seemed concerned about him and didn't know what to answer him.

Harlan, an ordinary classmate of his who became friends with him after rumors about how intelligent he is, were spread.

Tyler also got the attraction of the Bronx family's Young miss, Bronx Acantha and Li family's Young miss, Li Xiaoyu, who claimed to be his friends.

Tyler knew that most of the people gathered around him ain't true friends or people with good intentions.

They just probably want to start a relationship with him, so it would be easier to rope him in, if and only if, he is to awaken a powerful class or bloodline.

Among this group, the one that seemed to take things to far is, Harlan, who personally claimed to be his best buddy.

Without paying attention to Harlan, Tyler got himself in order to await his name to be called.

Looking around, although already used to the environment, Tyler couldn't help but still marvel at the materials, arts and technologies around him, as this world is much more advanced in technology and arts than his previous world.

Most of the advanced technologies were only obtainable by people with higher wealth and status. This further fueled his resolve, not to live a mediocre life.

Only by getting a higher status, power and wealth, could he live a better life and also obtaining the better resources and services in this world. If he were to be weak and useless, he might not even have the pleasure to know how he died in this cruel, violent and dangerous world.

With this, his fists tighten, as his eyes shone with a more resolve.

He decided that even if he were to end up with a weaker class or bloodline and absence of a transmigrator or reincarnator cheat, he would delve into forbidden regions and go to great lengths, just for power.

'Sigh... Normally this kind of thought won't cross my mind as this isn't my character, but I guess this world is bending my will ', Tyler thought to himself.

'I guess I will see as things goes, let's not rush and just take things one at a time, while calculating my next decision or actions and measures, in case things go wrong'.

With that he discarded his troubled thoughts and organized his mind to prepare for what the future holds in store for him.
