Giving The Female Lead A Happy Ending At All Costs To Save My Soul

Katarina had a picture perfect life: everlasting wealth, a loving husband, and everything she could ever want, but it all ended when she caught him and sister in bed together! To top it all, her husband ended up killing her after completely ruining her life. Luckily for her, she was granted a second chance to live. But, there was ONE clause. Katarina woke up in a story, as the main character of the book. In order to leave the story and return to her original life, she has to grant the female lead a happy and satisfying ending no matter what. The story’s female lead’s life was quite pathetic. She was blind, weak and bullied, and her betrothed who she was supposed to get married to, is fucking female lead’s step sister right under female lead’s nose. Katarina didn’t expect this quest to be an easy one, but she also didn’t expect it to be complicated to the extent of people wanting the weak female lead dead. ——— | ——— “Do I look like a fucking baby sitter to you?” He demanded, sounding as outraged as he looked. I let out a frustrated breath, knowing I was in no place to flare up since I’m the one in need right now. “No, your highness, you do not.” “Then why do you keep asking me t–” “Because my life is on the line!” I exclaimed urgently. His eyes narrowed and he scoffed. “What has that got to do with me? Do I look like I care? Cause I promise you that I do not.” “Because you need me, your highness. You know you do, even though you refuse to admit it.” I blurted out. A scowl settled on his handsome face. “Stop saying nonsense, you delusional weirdo.” “We both need each other and that’s the truth, so it’s best I don’t lose my life just yet, don’t you think so?”

An Unlikely Alliance

Katarina's POV

He was almost catching up to my lies. I had to find a way to divert his attention from that.

"They didn't have it as severe as you," I lied like I knew what the prince was going through. "They did go through their own tasks and it helped."

He sighed. "Very well. Again, I find this absurd but I guess I'll have to go through this if I need my health back I guess."

With each task, the prince became more invested, his focus shifting from his deteriorating health to the challenges and opportunities that laid ahead. And while he would be engaging in his pursuits, I would tirelessly delve into my research, consulting ancient texts, seeking advice from fellow physicians, and experimenting with various remedies as I had been doing.

After telling him all of that, he smiled and looked to the evening skies.

"I can't wait to use my new health to do something for myself," he said. "Who knows? Maybe I could start using the new knowledge I would also get from this journey to get back into ruling my kingdom better."

That sounded like a wonderful idea he needed to have done.

"Alright," I smiled at him. "Now that you have it all figured out, I'll let you be and be on my way to my room."

He nodded as I walked away from him.

Trina's POV

From a distance, I had watched the prince and the blind girl talk like they were old friends. I knew I had to put an end to this.

I decided to visit the one true person who would understand me better.

Jamie, Jane's stepsister.

I entered my carriage which took me to the house.

When I stepped out, I found her in front of the house with a man kissing.

"That's disgusting," I said, catching them off guard. How had they not seen me coming in?

"Lady Trina," they both said before bowing.

I waved them off. "I'm here to talk to Jamie, so whoever you are, get lost."

He nodded and ran off.

"You don't need to talk to him like that…"

I raised my hand. "First, I'm a royal, I actually don't care what you think or want. Secondly, kissing in front of your house is sick. Especially when you two aren't married. This isn't the savage times. Get used to not being romantically involved with who you're not married with."

"But the royals can do that. Why can't we common folks do the same thing?"

She laughed. "Are you now comparing yourself to being a royal?"

She sighed. "I wasn't doing that. I was only stating that if the royals could do it then we should also have the ability to…"

I raised a hand to her face. "I'm not here to swap dicks with you. I'm here to talk about the problem I'm facing in the palace. One I needed you to take care of but you failed countless times."

"If it's Jane, I've tried countless times to get rid of her. Somehow she's still alive."

"I'll like to know why. Does she have some kind of guardian angel looking out for her? Why is she even still alive? She should be dead."

Jamie sat on the step in front of the door.

"I've tried everything I can to get rid of her. I've tried hiding people to get rid of her, I've tried everything. It's not working."

"The other day I tried poisoning her. I made sure the poison was a lethal one but somehow she survived. She's getting more and more difficult to kill with the days passing by. I'm thinking she's some kind of deity or something. For a blind girl she's really doing a lot of things which should be impossible for her but it's somehow possible."

"Do you have any idea what to do?"

I looked at the sky with a sigh. I was ready to do anything which would break her down. I needed some time to think about a plan which would be likely to bring her down.

"I don't have any plan yet," I said. "But I'm willing to bet that if we work together we should get up something we can use."

She scoffed which I found offensive.

"Is anything funny?" I asked as she shook her head. "No, I want to know what's funny."

"It's just that you want to work with me, when I clearly know that you don't even like me. You want to see me fail."

"Of course that is very true. I don't like you. And if this was only your problem I would love to see you fail. However, this is also my problem and your failure affects me in more ways than I would like possible. So… I will swallow my pride and stoop to your level to aid you in your stupid attempts to bring that bitch down."

She smiled. "Anything to bring down our enemies I guess."

I looked to the skies to determine what to do next.

"I propose we hire a few people in the kingdom to bully her and beat her up," I said. "That way, she would have no choice but to run out of the kingdom."

"Haven't we kind of like done something similar?"

"Did it work?"

"It didn't… but…"

"Then no use in arguing with me. If it worked, we would not be here trying to get her to die."

She nodded to my words.

"So who do we call?"

"That boyfriend of yours. Is he in on this?"

She shrugged. "He's not in but he isn't out of it either. He's mostly indifferent."

"Get him to be on our side and make sure you let him know that it's either he does what we want or he has to deal with our wrath. Mostly my wrath."

"But I can't force him…"

I gave her a dangerous look which shut her up.

"I wasn't asking sweetheart." I said with a dangerous smile.
