Chapter 8

Luna and Evans made their way to the large dining all where they met the king and queen together with Camille. "Greetings your majesties, greetings princess Camille" Evans bowed his head in respect.

"Rise my dear, how are you and your father, I heard that he is sick and I hope he is doing well now?" The king asked as he beckoned on the servants to serve him some tea.

"Yes he is doing well, he has been responding to the treatments" Replied Evans as he sat next to Luna and was served food by the servants. Luna's eyes met with Camille's and she smiled on seeing her sister giving her a thumbs up. Camille has been married to one of the wealthiest man in their kingdom, Ethan. Luna didn't know why but her marriage had been delayed, anytime she discussed her idea of marrying Evans, the king would treat it as some unimportant topic and end up diverting to another topic which was raising suspicions to Luna.

The Dining area was very silent as everyone focused on the food on the table, when they were done with the food, Alice strikes up the conversation, "Evans dear, I hope you and Luna already have a plan on how you'll spend your future together or don't you want to get married?" Queen Alice asked.

"Yes very well your majesty, I am planning to marry Luna, I have told father about it and he is not against the idea, he just told me to tell him the date that we fixed" Replied Evans as he wrapped his arm around Luna's shoulder in a loving manner. The queen smiled at what Evans told her, she then turned to look at her husband who wasn't even looking at them, it was like he was in his own world.

"Dear, you heard what he said and I think it's about time they both got married, they've known each other for more than ten years now and I believe they have absolute knowledge of what marriage is" She muttered under her breath. Alice also has noticed that whenever a topic like that was raised in the conference room because the people were getting worried for their dear princess Luna, Magnus would surely find a way to skillfully dodge the question.

"I don't think Evans is sincere enough, how would I know if he loves my daughter or not, I don't want Luna to end up regretting her decision to marry him" He spoke firmly, he could see Luna looking at him with furrowed eyebrows but he pretended as if he didn't see it.

Evans turned to look at Luna worriedly, what was he going to do? he has done everything that would make Luna feel loved and even the king was aware of it, he was aware of the fact that Luna was always happy whenever she was with Evans so why did he not want the marriage to happen?. Luna smiled at Evans as she caressed his hand to reassure him that everything was alright.

"I'll handle this" she whispered, truth be told, she was hurt by what her father was doing. He was seriously taking her happiness away from her, what has she done to him that he found it hard to forgive her? she had remained the obedient, loving and caring child anyone would want so why this?

"Father I will take responsibility for my decisions, I want to be with Evans and no one else because he loves me and father you're aware of that, if I can't be with him I'll be with no one" Luna concluded, she was furious with her father's attitude already, if she had to rebel against him for not allowing her to marry Evans, she wouldn't think twice before rebelling against him.

" I've heard enough luna, you're not going to marry Evans if you keep talking nonsense like this" He threatened her as he stood up from the chair.

"Father!" Luna yelled at him, this was the first time that she had ever shouted at her father like this but she couldn't help it, this is the first thing she had ever asked of him so why could he not give her?

"Luna don't test my patience, in fact I forbid you to see Evans again... and you" he turned to look at Evans, "Get going and don't ever return here" He ordered as he glared at everyone in the dining room, deep down in Magnus he hated what he was doing but he couldn't help it, he feared for what Lucas would do if he finds out.

"Father it's getting too much already, can't you just let them be" Camille stood up for her sister, but she was soon shunned by the king.

"You shut up and stop saying nonsense here, I think you're much needed by your family than you are needed here, Go home now for Ethan must be missing you... All of you get lost, you're just pissing me off" The king yelled as he strode out of the dining all leaving the remaining people astounded.

Alice couldn't even believe her husband could react like that to a little issue, it was like Magnus had changed ever since the massacre in the kingdom took place, he had changed towards her and their children and it's not for good at all. This one was worse.

"Mother can you hear what father is saying, so it's my fault for coming to spend time with you, alright it's my fault, I'm leaving now" Camille told them as she hastily ran towards the door with tears in her eyes.

"Camille, Camille!, Luna please go get your sister" Alice said to Luna but Luna didn't answer her, she dragged Evans along with her and went out of the castle. "Dear God, I'm tired of all this already, just why did he have to react that way, watch and see Magnus you'll pay for all these mess" Alice mumbled, she instructed the servants to clean up the dining area while she went to throne hall to pacify Magnus because it seems that he was annoyed.
