Annoying Tang Family

A messager wearing the Tang family crest has arrived at the Chen Household to relay a message to Fangsu, "The Second Young Miss, Tang Fangsu has been requested to return to the Tang family." The messenger patiently waited for the girl to respond but nothing came out of the young girl.

Fangsu blankly stared at the letter and handed the letter back to the messenger, "You can return this letter back to the Tang family," Fangsu sighed tiredly as she rubbed the back of her neck, "I have no desire to go to respond or return to the Tang family," Fangsu gestured the employees to escort the messenger out. The messenger was dumbfounded by the nonchalantly of the young girl who would request such a highly esteemed noble family. Honestly the messenger was afraid to return back to the Tang manor empty handed after the head of the clan insisting that the young miss to return to the Tang Family.

When the messenger returned back to the Tang Manor without the Second Young, "Master, the Young Miss has refused to return back to the Tang family." The messenger was sighed, remembering the young girl's nonchalance towards the Tang, meaning that the girl didn't care about the immense power that the Tang family holds over the capital.

The Head pinches his chin thinking of a way to make Fangsu return back to the Tang family, "Send the Chen family a few bolts of premium Cloud Silks, gold accessories and high grade jade bracelets." A few servants obeyed his order as they received the key to the family treasury to retrieve all the requested items.

The steward bowed, "Master is it wise to send such elaborate gifts to the young girl?" The steward was worried that the gifting of such a large expense would enrage the old Madam who was known to be stingy. But the Head dismisses the steward away and continued to send the gifts to the Chen family in hopes to retrieve his daughter back. Sighing at the Head actions, the steward could only wipe the upcoming scolding from the Old Madam once he report this. Dejectedly, the steward walked to one of the luxurious wings on the manor to see the Old Madam eating a grape that was peeled by one the handsome servant.

Even though the Old Madam was well into her 80's, her skin and figure was that of a 50 year old due to the spending of cosmetics, consuming pills for retaining beauty and skincare from the new opened business, Blossoming Fragrance, "Madam, the Head has been using the family expenses to send elaborate gifts to the Chen family in order to win over the Young Miss." The steward coughed in order to gain the attention of the Old Madam who was busy fawning over her boy servants.

As soon as those words came out the old woman furrowed her eyebrow in anger, "Young Miss?" The old woman was confused about the mentioning of a young miss, but the faces of the hateful Heng Hui and those devils spawn child of hers, "What Young Miss? We only have the future young master growing in Su Hui's stomach." Clicking her tongue, the thought only made her mood turn bad as she dismissed the thought of those insufferable women.

The steward gulped nervous, as he was quite unsure whether to diverge the information, "It's the Second Young Miss, Tang Fangsu." The steward nevertheless told the Old Madam who was the recipient of the gifts.

The Old Madam's eye widen, shocked, "She should died!" A variety of emotions flashed through the old woman's eyes, shock, anger, and enough cruelty that would ooze out from her aura. The Old Madam quickly dismissed everyone from the room to allow some privacy, but the thought of one of those devil spawns still alive cause the old woman to bite her nail. Grabbing a brush and making some ink, the old woman wrote on the pristine white paper which showed how high the quality of the paper was. After the ink was dried, the old woman folded the paper into and released a golden flame from her fingertips, burning the paper.

The Golden Flame is only able to be utilises if the individual had an affinity with the element of fire and was in Fifth Level of Core Formation. The golden flame was used to send messages to people that the old woman knows. Watching the last remnants of the paper being burned and embers flying off into the distance, the old woman angrily stared into the distance.

Fangsu who was continuing to work in Blossoming Fragrance was being bombarded on multiple occasions with the Tang servants for a month, but luckily Bao Ming and Da Fu had blocked those servants from trying to send the gifts.

It was a constant battle between the servants of the Tang Manor and the employees of Blossoming Fragrance to see which side would back down, but with their masters on the line. They could only fight harder. Whilst drinking some tea in the study room, Fangsu could only watched the comedic scene between the two sides. Jingyi and Fangsu's grandpa was also in the room, "The Tang Family is really persistent," Jingyi was eating some egg rolls with some of the leftover jams, "They really want you." As they continued to watch the battle, the Employees of Blossoming Fragrance were able to drive off the Tang servant for today, making the Tang servants to retire for the day.

Both Fangsu and her grandpa could only sighed, tiredly. Fangsu pinched the area in between her eyebrows, the exhaustive battle between the Tang servants and Blossoming Fragrance had taken a toll on Fangsu's mental and physical state, "Grandpa can I do something about this situation?" Fangsu had given up on her appearance as her skin dried up along with some pimples popping up, her complexion was dull, dark eyes bags plagued Fangsu face and her greasy hair from stress which was put into bun made Fangsu look like a malicious ghost, "This is slowly driving me insane and it's affecting the business." Fangsu massaged her temples as incoming headache come pulsating.

Jingyi on the other hand was worried about Fangsu's health, "Do you want me to drive them away?" Asking to help out since Fangsu was of fragile health.

Fangsu shook her head, "This is a problem between the Chen and Tang family," Fangsu stretched out her limbs, "Having an outsider involved would bring some unwanted consequences." Multiple cracks of her joints released some tension.

But to Jingyi it was frightening to hear so many cracks, "Fangsu are you sure you are okay?" Jingyi found it worrying that Fangsu was dealing with so much. But, before Jingyi could say anymore. A beautiful hawk came flying through window, gracefully landing on the wind-sill. It's beautiful feathers gave off a beautiful sheen, sharp talons that were beautifully polished and sharp eyes that could penetrate through your soul.

The most distinguishing feature of the Hawk was the golden latch that was attached on the hawks feet with the plume feather of a Phoenix imprinted on it. Fangsu went to the back of the room to grab a handful of seeds with some dead insects in a small dish and a some water in another to help relieve the exhausted hawk. After the hawk was given the seeds, insects and water. It perked up excitedly, nudging against Fangsu's hand not minding the smell of Fangsu greasy hair. But before the bird ate the food given, it stretched out its leg with the letter attached the golden clasp.

Fangsu took the letter from the hawk reading the contents, smiling. Both Fangsu's grandpa and Jingyi were both interested in the content and decided to read the letter; there was three different handwritings, one was very neat but rough but the other two were sloppy and childlike. The memory of Li Mo and Biyu bought a smile on Fangsu's face, but as she read the other letter. It was an invitation for the Winter Banquet, "Wow! Fangsu you were given a special pass for the Winter Banquet and it's from the Empress Dowager!" Jingyi gave a thumbs up, knowing that Fangsu had so many connections that it still amazed her.

Fangsu's grandpa smiled, "This will be a good way to get our minds away from what's happening." The thought of good wine being presented at the Winter Banquet excited the old man. But seeing that Fangsu was excited for the Winter Banquet made the him curious to the reason, "Fangsu who was the person who wrote the letter?" Fangsu grandpa saw the messily written message.

『 Big Sister, please come to the Winter Banquet. We want to play. We want more of those lychee stuff. Do the water puppet show again. We want to hear your pretty singing. 』

The short and incoherent sentences filled with childish words made Fangsu want to see the twins again, both of them were so loveable and cute, "The royal twins." Fangsu began replying to the message. After writing the message, Fangsu could only have a warm feeling grow from within thinking about the twins.

『 I will bring you the lychee snacks during the Winter, and I will sing for you. Play with you until your hearts content and do the water puppet show. 』

Jingyi was shocked to see such a tender emotions on Fangsu's face towards the royal twins, it was the first time seeing such a glow from Fangsu despite her exhaustive state. Shaking her head, "You are really fond of the twins are you?" Jingyi was startled to see such an expressive emotion plastered on Fangsu face, but the emotions that swirled underneath revealed such pain.

Fangsu happily smiled as she tuck a greasy lock of hair behind her ear, "I never really had younger siblings." Attaching the now dried letter to the golden clutch. Fangsu nudged the bird to climb on her arm, "You can go back now," Fangsu didn't wear any protective gear but despite the pain released the bird into the air.

After the hawk had flown a fair distance away, Jingyi decided it was time to say her goodbyes. Fangsu stared at Jingyi's figure that was soon getting smaller and eventually disappearing. Fangsu decided to prepare for the upcoming Winter Banquet; cleaning her hair, dealing with all the skin problems from the stressful month and relaxing herself.

After a month, Fangsu's appearance has improved after the self care; her ash grey hair was soft and glossy, her supple honey skin glowed from the nourishment of the skincare, the dark eye bag disappeared and Fangsu looked much more refreshed. With the recover of Fangsu, she was much more prepared for upcoming Winter Banquet.

The day of the Winter Banquet excited many nobles as it was a chance to showcase talents, win the favour of royal members and gain gifts that are exclusive to the royal family. But, it was also a chance to find marriage candidates. Fangsu, however, was excited for to see the Empress Dowager, Lady Meng and especially the twins.
