"You really think two weeks will make any difference?" Vivian taunted.
"You're just delaying the inevitable, Holea."
Ignoring her, Yu Holea kept her gaze locked on Qiao Jun, her voice steady though her heart was trembling.
"I believe in us, Jun," she said softly. "I believe that something's not right here, and I want to give you the time to figure out what it is."
Vivian rolled her eyes and leaned closer, her voice low and mocking.
"He doesn't need time. He's already made up his mind. Just stop embarrassing yourself."
Yu Holea shot her a sharp look, her anger barely contained.
"This isn't about you, Vivian," she said coldly. "It never was. Stay out of it."
Vivian smirked but said nothing more, sensing that Yu Holea's resolve was stronger than she'd anticipated.
