Chapter 26

A damp cloth wiped her face… tenderly. Heng Xīnyán let out a low sound of pain. Her eyes struggled to open, her entire soul felt weak and she realized that her eyes were seeing dark.

Frowning, Heng Xīnyán blinked. Her lips were cracked and dried. She wanted to sit up to explore the small damp cave she was in. However, she heard a cold voice coming from her left. "Don't move."

Startled, Heng Xīnyán turned her head to the source of the sound. Her eyes watched as the owner of the voice came into her view and Heng Xīnyán shuddered.

She once thought that Bàolì Hua was cold but this man that stood before her must be the definition of coldness. She gulped uneasily, she felt like a salted fish awaiting the butcher knife to fall and behead her. The male had a cold aura, it suppressed her lightly and the uncomfortable feeling made Heng Xīnyán turn pale. Heng Xīnyán's eyes took in the male's face, trying to see if she knew him from anywhere.

However, when spotting those thousands of white strands of hair that came out of his skull with no artificial dying seen, Heng Xīnyán was dumbfounded. White hair wasn't uncommon nor unique in the Mortal Realm because of natural dyes. However, this male natural white hair which was let loose, flowed down his back in endless waves. Stopping at his hips with no split ends.

Heng Xīnyán was envious! Her hair ends were always split and uneven. Her eyes narrowed on the male. In his light blue Hanfu, his neck which was exposed was pale like snow, showing light red and green veins.

Heng Xīnyán looked back at him. Surprise bloomed in her eyes and she blinked because she was sure that his forehead was smooth before. However, now his flat forehead was exposed with two thick white brows that shaped his face. Between his light-coloured eyes now had a ruby red gem that had the shape of a rhombus but it was small in width.

The red ruby was dull in colour. However, the longer Heng Xīnyán stared at it. She noticed that the colour was deepening. Almost reaching the colour of blood when the male's cold eyes glared at her with a chill.

Heng Xīnyán merely smiled. Taking, her eyes off of him. She noted that his skin was pale when he showed his hands which were covered by his light blue wide Hanfu sleeves. Almost rivalling the colour of his hair. Heng Xīnyán regarded the male as a snowman. There was no colour on his face, except the glowing red ruby and his sinful-looking deep red thin lips.

Heng Xīnyán looked at them enviously. After a while, she averted her eyes. In the silence, the male walked up to her with a small bowl. Finding a comfortable spot next to her, he sat down. He flicked his sleeves lightly.

His pale strong hands held the delicate bowl. With his light blue Hanfu sleeves brushed back to his elbow, he leaned the bowl to Heng Xīnyán's cracked lips.

Heng Xīnyán watched him silently. Obviously, not willing to take the strange-looking liquid. After all, who would? The liquid in the bowl was thick like porridge with lumps of different strange-coloured herbs. It was black in colour and had a very odd smell.

Heng Xīnyán's eyes were filled with doubt and the male in front of her frowned, "Drink." His lips moved and that cold strong voice was heard.

Heng Xīnyán didn't move nor did she open her mouth.

The male's brows ticked and his left hand reached out with such speed that it caught Heng Xīnyán off guard and she couldn't avoid those thin long fingers that firmly held her jaw. Her jaw was trapped in his hand and he applied pressure that forced Heng Xīnyán's mouth open.

Satisfied, the male leaned the bowl to pour the liquid into her mouth.

Heng Xīnyán's face turned red from the taste as well as her rising anger.

But… she couldn't struggle. Her soul was too weak to even move and her Dantian was empty! Hence, she could only resist by not swallowing, resulting in the black liquid flowing down the sides of her lips. Running down her chin.

The male before her frown deepened and Heng Xīnyán blinked in surprise when a rough wind attacked her face. She closed her eyes tightly and her throat subconsciously swallowed.

Heng Xīnyán grimaced. She now tasted the liquid and fainted from the bitterness that overwhelmed her senses.

The male in front of her was confused and his cold light eyes were dumbfounded watching the pale lifeless face of the female before him.

As both Heng Xīnyán and Bàolì Hua went away from the ruins which were previously called Sky Pavilion. In the rumbles, a weak pale hand stretched out of the thousands of fallen woods. The white Hanfu sleeve was dirty turning grey from the dust and added with the ashes of the roaring fire that calmed down.

The skies were also clear and blue. It was as if that scary sight was just a fragment of their imagination. The cultivators slowly dispersed from the scene and hence, they didn't see the scene of the pale hand struggling to pull its owner's body from under the burnt rumble.

Soon, the face of the hand was seen. With an emotionless smile on his face. Jiǎndān Yìzé grinned eerily. His face was burnt brutally by the flame. Half of his face on the left side had burns. If it was a normal fire, it wouldn't have burned his soul but the red flame was filled with dark spiritual energy and hence, Jiǎndān Yìzé's face suffered as a result.

Scarily, he stood. Half of his face was smooth with white pale skin. However, on the left, deep black scars were there. His left eyebrow was burnt off and his eye was sunken in. His cheeks were burnt off, showing his white jawbone and teeth.

Touching his face, Jiǎndān Yìzé crumbled to his knees from the overwhelming pain. The wound pained him terribly, he couldn't even touch it as it emitted heat that scalded his palm. Jiǎndān Yìzé finally realized that he was blind in his left eye and he couldn't hear out of his left ear.

This realization made him lifeless. However, his eyes looked for those female figures that made him this way. Standing tremblingly. The male stepped forward, wanting his revenge on both Lady Fēn (Heng Xīnyán) and Yīnchén Ài.

His eyes brightened, and then he could live happily with his sweetheart, Xu Chang and his moonlight Lady Chun (Bàolì Hua).
