Chapter One

"you're almost there,I can see the child's head,"

"

The screams of a woman in labor echoed through out the place,

"What's wrong? why is this taking so much time." A young man with dark black hair stormed into the birth house with worry in his tone

"Sir, please you are not supposed to be in here" A mid-wife warned gentle asking the man to leave. "Child birth isn't something that happens all of the sudden."

"But—"

"Sir, Please!"

He looked at his wife with worry in his eyes, beads of sweat formed on her forehead and she panted heavily. The other mid-wife attended to her, whispering soothing words to her.

He resented for a bit and turned to leave when—

"Ahhhhh"

His wife screamed and he turned to look at her, soon after she stopped screaming the cries of baby echoed in the air.

The man's eyes widened and tears formed at the corners of his eyes as he approached his wife, who panted exhaustingnly, holding a baby in her arms.

"It's a boy." she let show a strained smile and burst into tears joy of as her husband knelt beside her.

"It's a boy!"

The man took the child into his arms and looked at his wife.

"What should we name him?" He asked his wife.

"Damian, let's name him Damian."

"Damian, that's a beautiful name. His name is Damian."

The birth of the child bought smiles to everyone's face, one of the mid-wives shot the father of the child a disapproving look and seemed like she had something to say to him but didn't want to spoil the mood then decided to keep her words to herself.

"What's this?" The father of the child blinked unable to believe his eyes, looking down at the baby in his arms.

The baby's eyeslids slowly lifted opened and the midwife who held her words looked at the unnatural scene playing before her eyes.

The father was at a loss of words, as he stared into the child's eyes.

"What? What's wrong?" The mother of the child asked, worried and her husband passed the child into her arms and she looked into his eyes and her jaw dropped.

The child had Ruby irises that glowed.

Everyone fell silent.
