Genshin Impact: Icy Path

A Genshin Impact fan dies and finds himself over the fantasy world of Teyvat. However, funny adventures, riches and fame were no waiting for him, instead, a cruel reality and a curse is what lay in front of him, forcing him to use all his means to protect his new loved ones, even if means falling to deepest abysm. ---- I thought about this story months ago before the actual start of the 2.0 version, finally having some time now to write it. So there would be some changes from it (For example the lost of Raiden Shogun's gnosis). Also, the story would start at the Snezhnaya, so I would invent most of it as it lacks concrete information. ---- To support me p*treon.com/picaco for chapter in advance.

1st Mission

A wooden carriage was crossing over Snezhnaya's icy roads. At the end of the carriage, Allen stood calmly looking at the beautiful snowy outside scenery.

Allen was wearing his new Ice Cicin Mage's uniform, with a mask covering half of his face. Why the mask?

Fatui's missions could be sometimes considered as questionable, bordering or directly crossing morality, being possible to take the hate from others, even when Snezhnaya's external diplomacy could be described as 'great', having forced the others regions' acceptance with monetary help or saving them from disasters.

It was for this hate that the usual uniform had a mask with it, hiding their own identity. Except for some cases where it was needed to work openly with other regions, most of the Fatui's missions were done in anonymity, all of them being pushed under the Fatui's name that had the strength to resist that hate. So it was only diplomats and undercover agents that didn't hide his face.

Allen's mission this time wasn't anything that he must be wary of that hate, it was a seemingly simple hunting mission, however, he preferred to keep himself hidden as he wouldn't reveal his young age and maybe be attacked for some vendetta.

Allen's mission was to hunt some boars over a near village, Ledkaban. Ledkaban was a little village surrounded by a forest and was about a day in a carriage from the capital. From what he had learned, it was an inconspicuous village without anything special that mostly lived through hunting. However, it didn't take Allen's desire to go, being unable to hide a smile from his face.

This trip was the first time that Allen was able to leave the capital, the first time that he gained some freedom, not being closely observed at each step. It was his first step to discovering the grand world that was Teyvat. Allen couldn't hide his enthusiasm, laughing a little at the fact that he would be able to explore a zone that the people that were playing Genshin Impact would need to wait some years to come.

"We can see now the village, mister" The coach informed with respect, the wooden cabins already being seen over the horizon.

"Thanks" Finally reaching the village, Allen jumped outside the carriage, stretching his body from the sourness of the travel before stepping over it, his objective being the bigger house where the village chief lived.

The village was as expected, nothing too spectacular, with few people being outside due to the low temperature, the little people that Allen could see, averted their gazes, quickly returning inside the houses.

It wasn't what Allen would want for his first trip, but he knew that there was no way to avoid it. Even when his uniform could be described as cute rather than intimidating, it nevertheless represented Snezhnaya's strongest forces, the Fatui, gaining awe and fear.

"Sir" Approaching the chief's house, Allen was stopped by a young man.

"It's our honor your visit here. I am Lev." The young man said with a respectful bow and smile.

Looking at him, Allen frowned under his mask. The man wore clean and high-quality clothes, much higher than the people that he had crossed on his way, moreover, his face and actions while they seemed respectful it was clear only a facade, a fake merchant smile to gain something from it while hiding his true feelings.

"If you let me guess, I suppose that you came here for the boar hunting?" Allen nodded at him "It's great!" He said smiling "They had grown too much in numbers, becoming quite a problem, luckily you have been sent this soon or it would have become quite the problem."

"Do you want something?" Allen asked a little pissed, wanting him to come to the point. Allen really hated this show, these shenanigans somewhat called education, he had endured it too much in his previous life and at the capital, preferring more informal talk.

The young man quickly read Allen's mood, going direct "I'm sure that hunting boars would be a rather dull and easy work for you, sir. However, transporting them here would be quite the hassle..."

"So you want to offer your transport services to me?" Allen asked.

"Exactly, as expected you are quick to take it, sir." Lev said "I have high experience with it, usually being contracted by other hunters. Moreover, my pay would only be two boars. Independently on how many you hunt, I would only charge you one. A good deal, no?."

'That would depend on the quantity and other factors' Allen thought.

"Sir, we will do it cheaper!" Interrupting his thoughts, two young boys shouted. They were only a little older than him, seemingly to be around 12 years. They wore cheap and ragged clothes and showed signs of famine. They weren't as bad as Allen was when he stayed at the slums as the strength rules aren't so extreme outside the capital, but it was clear that the boys' standing was rather low. "Only one leg! We will do it, we will transport your hunts for only one boar's leg."

"Tch!" Lev clicked his tongue "Get out of here filth, the adults are talking!" Lev seemed to want to kick them, but controlled himself when Allen lifted his hand.

'Adults, eh?' Allen thought thinking of his own age. The uniform really does the trick as usually is worn by short women, and distorts his true voice, making it impossible to discern his true age, when he is even younger than the boys.

"I would talk with the chief first to learn the details" Allen informed "I would answer you later."

"Of course, sir!" Lev stated pushing the boys aside "Sorry for taking your precious time."

"I would return shortly" Allen said intimidating, clearly warning to not do anything to the boys, before walking over to the big house where he was quickly received by an old man that quickly invited him inside to take a seat.

"It's an honor, sir Agent. I am Boris, the chief of Ledkaban". The man was bald, with high noted lines of expression and a short white beard due to his age, all of it adorned by a sly smile that accentuated his expression.

"Could you explain in what consists the mission?" Allen quickly said, counting the go and return travel, he had a little more than a day to complete it, so he would prefer to hurry up, not wanting his first mission to finish as a fail.

"Of course, sir. As it was stated in the report, you need to hunt 20 Ice Boars" The chief explained. Yes, that was in Allen's report, hunt 20 Ice Boars at Ledkaban with a reward of 10.000 Mora. The importance of this quest wasn't only hunting beasts that were troubling the habitants, it was also a business, the fur and meat of the boars being used for some of Pantalone's business. For Allen it was clear that the inclination of the quest went more for the later reason.

"What about the transport of the preys?" Allen asked.

"The trade route once in the village is prepared. On the other hand, you are in charge to bring them over the village" The chief explained "If you want, I can recommend some capable people."

"You're talking about Lev?" Allen's quickly remembered the man before.

"Oh? You already had met him. Yes, Lev usually takes charge of this kind of work." The chief nodded.

"Okay, if this it's al-"" One last thing!" Allen was about to stand up and leave but was stopped by Boris. "There are far more boars out there, if you for some reason were to hunt more boars, I can take care of them. Of course, it won't be for free, I'll pay 1.500 Mora for each."

"Noted" Allen nodded calculating the possible gains, the extra boar being paid three times the commission ones, before leaving the house. Once outside, both the child and Lev were waiting for him.

"Would you contract my service, sir?" Lev said with a smile.

"Only for a small transport, I find 2 boars too much." Allen looked over the child "And is clear that there are other optio-" Before Allen was able to talk more, Lev interrupted.

"I can lower to one boar, but nothing less, sir." Lev explained.

"It seems fair" Allen said, Lev unable to hide a glint in his eyes "However, as I don't have much time and I might be just on time, I would pay you the price in Mora. 500 Mora in total."

"Don't joke sir" Lev said squinting "One boar is more valuable. You are even paid 1.500 from the chief for each one."

'So he is aware of it' Allen thought 'This is far from the first time of them' "1.000 Mora?"

"Sir!" He said annoyed "I even lowered my usual price down to one boar, you shoul-" "Ah!" Allen sighed, interrupting him "Okay, you win. 1.500 Mora, the same gain as me."

"But sir?" Lev tried to suplicate.

"Your price was 1 boar. Are you trying to win more than me?" Allen said stepping forwards trying to intimidate him.

Even when neither the suit nor the stature was intimidating the Fatui name was enough.

"Okay. Deal" Lev said gritting his teeth, being unable to complain as, in the end, he is the one that asked for one boar and even stated the price of one, gaining the full price of it.

"I will go to the forest now, follow shortly my path," Allen stated.

"Of course" Lev answered, while Allen was already on his way towards the forest.

"So that's how it went" Just as Allen figure disappeared over the forest, a masked figure appeared from nothing next to Lev and the child, scaring both of them.

The figure was clad with a long crimson red coat while its face was hidden behind a mask, completely hiding any characteristic, similar to a Fatui Pyro Agent but kind of modified, making it unique.

"Good job following the orders" The Agent took a bag with some Mora and gave it to the child.

"T-thanks!" The child said a little frightened, but strongly holding the bad. He wouldn't have never dared to approach a Fatui like today, but he was kind of "contracted" (That could it be said forced) by this Agent to act like that, offering his transport services to the Mage Cicin that would come to the village.

"For you" The Agent took another bag, this one clearly far fuller than the other, having more than 10.000 Mora in it. "Mg!" The agent hummed hiding the bag again "You got nothing."

"Why?! I obtained 1.500 Mora from the deal that it's the price of one boar!" Lev complained.

"We all know that an Ice Boar costs far more" The Agent stated "Anyway, The deal was so take 1 boar at the least as the price, not the equivalent Mora. You failed!"

"But!" The Agent's body flashed at a speed unable to be perceived by Lev, appearing just beside Lev and putting a knife over his neck.

"The only reason that you are alive after that audacity is that you have a deal to complete. Remember your place" The Agent stated with bloodlust, completely scaring Lev who once the knife left his neck, fell over to his knees, trembling in fear.

The Agent completely ignored them, taking a notebook from its coat and writing something "First part finished" Its gaze turned over the forest "Let's see how the second goes."

Long time without writting, sorry about that but I really couldn't find the time and desire to it.

It kind of always happens to me, I think about the novel and finish it in my head something that I like but then it became difficult to start writting the unwanted parts between the big events.

Now I'm not working due to an injure so let's see if I write something more over this time.
