[By the system's calculations this amount is beyond the level that a human could achieve, prodigy or otherwise. It is quite an accomplishment for the host to do this at your age, previous [True Combat] users usually did so at the age of 12-17. Albeit those were [SS] rank techniques.]
"Mhm. So, how does it work? I can use it but tell me the deeper details, I'm sure you know about them. While it may seem unnecessary, it may offer me some insight as to how I can improve it or reduce its drawbacks"
[Affirmative. It is fairly simple really, [Realm of Thought] unifies the mind into a single unit to achieve one goal as efficiently and effectively as possible. The numerous parts of the brain and mind, fuse into a pure thought machine.]
[It is a very powerful technique and would have been rated higher by the system were it not for its devastating drawbacks.]
"Those of which include?" Emmy asked as she looked around the room she was in, furnished with tatami mats along with several paintings depicting samurai triumphant over abyss monsters.
[The pressure it emits on the mind, Its limited duration, and long cool down, or how long it takes to use it again.]
[It is a vastly inferior version of the system's calculation abilities and if it were an inferior version of the system it may be able to handle the pressure. The human framework or any kind of framework cannot. It takes thoughts and ideas and mashes them together to create conclusions.]
[Normal humans can generate 5 centralized thoughts per 15 minutes. Centralized thoughts equated to 10 normal unfocused ones or 5 focused thoughts. However it is not sustainable, this state can only be held for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, this ability makes the host generate and manipulate up to 100 per second.]
[There is no need to say anything about how devastating it can be to the Host, which is why the technique is only [A] rank but not [SS] rank. The good news is it can be improved with training and revision of the technique.]
"Damn."
Emmy was speechless. This ability she was using on a whim was so overpowered? But...
'Why was there such a massive difference? Logically speaking the technique she used could be put into use by anyone who got focused to the extreme but it seemed that no one could be able to do it.'
[The host uses both her mind and brain in tandem, while it may be argued that they are the same. It is not so as the Conscious mind(brain) is bound by limitations, the subconscious mind is not. But many are not capable of accessing the unfettered mind and neither is the host but you can touch it for a brief moment when using this technique.]
[Normal people only use the limited brain to a limited degree but the host uses both the limited brain and the unlimited mind. One to ground ideas and generate creative thought and the other to escape boundaries, accessing knowledge from beyond to reach a goal.]
Unlimited mind? Accessing knowledge from afar? Emmy had never heard of these things from the books she had read thus far unless light novels were to be counted but those were merely fiction. Not to be taken seriously.
Emmy could only sigh, thinking that she was still too ignorant of the many wonders in the world around her. But she didn't need to fret any longer, with the system by her side. She would discover many things.
Was this not why she wanted to become an adventurer? Her journey, although yet to see its beginning, would soon make its mark on the world. She wanted to know the things she didn't know.
She would get tough, bring her friends with her to an unexplored region, and adventure to her heart's content. She would record everything and keep them close to her. Hmm... Maybe publish it to the public? She didn't know but if she wanted to publish it and make people believe it...
She would need more than just words on a page. She would need to show it to them somehow, kind of like how the system has its interface in front of her. But she dismissed those thoughts for now.
The system was still talking.
[Make no mistake, this "unlimited mind" is only through the lens of living beings. The system is capable of using this through sheer information access and calculating ability. Hence why this ability was said to be inferior.]
"The system is so amazing," Emmy praised. She was really in awe of how the system could use an ability like this so casually, while hers was only an inferior version that can only be used for a set period.
"It's an amazing ability but it is a pity that it can't be used for long periods. I'll train it using hypothetical situations to sharpen it, the system can put me through such simulations right?"
[Should the host wish for it to happen? A splendid ability but the host shouldn't mistake it to be weak because of its long cooldowns or short time for usage. It could be said it no longer needs such a thing.]
Emmy nodded but she suddenly had a thought, "Wait? So all those times where I lost focus of my surroundings when reading and doing other things, I was using [Realm of Thought]?"
[Yes. As said before it takes all of the minds and forms a unified entity for one goal. Thus the other senses, if not required are taken away for a short period. They will return eventually but this does not have a sense of hindering the quality. So the host can rest assured.]
"Right. So how long can I use this for? And how long is the cool down?"
[Usage time of 1 minute but due to it using the entire mind, thought accelerates to the point where time appears to be still thus it is much longer. It has a cooldown of 1 hour for now but will have a higher skill level or more polishing. These can be fixed.]
[It is also the only technique that increases intelligence, as it has the side effect of increasing thought perception, concentration, and processing speed.]
"Sigh. Amazing. I have one final question," Emmy paused as she looked at the screen, she hesitated to ask as she was 95% sure that the system would say something like [Classified].
She was still gonna ask though, she wouldn't be Emmy if she wasn't.
"What is that Unknown by my race?"
[Classified.]
"You said the same thing I thought of just to spite me didn't you!?"
Emmy pouted.
[If the Host thinks so.]
There seemed to be a bit of mirth in that mechanical voice, at least to Emmy's ears.
