Walk in the Woods

"Why are you following me?" I turned around towards Damon when I was about to open the front door.

He looked at me with a poker face, just staring into my eyes. "Okay, if you won't answer that, then why did you choke Layla?" I asked him in a serious tone.

He had slight bags under his eyes, probably due to lack of sleep. And his black hair was unusually messy. "She said things that she shouldn't have." He paused before he continued. "You didn't hear what we were talking about?" He asked, confusion and disbelief on his face.

"No. I wouldn't have asked you if I did. I just know you wouldn't have hurt her for no reason." I answered before as I opened the front door. "I'm just going for a walk, I'll see you later, I guess," I muttered before slipping out of the door.

Damon didn't follow me, which I was thankful for. I left the packhouse behind, entering my safe place, the misty forest.

Walking along the damp dirt forest path, my thoughts invaded my head again.

I didn't want to be separated and distanced from Damon, but because of my stubbornness, I don't want him to think I'm a pushover. I want to be equal to him, but he just lied to me about such an important matter.

But I'm also upset and frustrated towards myself, because I ran away like a coward from a situation I should have talked through with my mate, Damon.

Snap {Twig stepped on and snapped}

I froze in my track, hearing the snap of a twig. I quickly heightened my senses, feeling as if something bad and dangerous is happening.

I listened to change is direction, as the only smell that invaded my nose was the mossy dirt below me.

The damp mist sent chills up my spine, as I felt another presence before me.

It didn't take long before I shredded my clothes and transformed into my wolf form. Transforming into a dragon will make me smash and break all the trees near me.

{Ice, Bloom, help me out over here.}

I contacted my dragons, leaving slasher out as she betrayed me with Damon, because yes, I am very stingy in these situations.

I turned towards every direction where I heard a shift of wind, or even a slightest sound.

"You. I'm getting tired of this game, stop cowardly hiding behind the trees and face me like a man!" I spoke boldly as I demand this person or animal to show itself.

"I don't know, I kinda like that panicked face of yours..." The voice echoed in the forest, as I still couldn't locate its origin. "Why are you here then?" This is my mate's territory, so I don't know how he made his way onto this land, unless he's really talented.

"I need not answer you." He sounded a bit old, for his voice was a little hoarse and ragged.

"Then why are you before me?" I asked again, frustrated for not finding his position.

"You hold my dear friend's tooth, I'm here for it back. Since he was murdered by the likes of you, I'm considering paying you back. An eye for an eye, a life for a life." I gulped from hearing the deathly note in his tone.
