Siltri opened his eyes, finding himself in a familiar room. It was brightly lit, and he could see the warm sunlight coming in through the windows. The walls were lined with shelves filled with books, and the floor was covered in a soft, plush carpet. He knew this room, it was one of the classrooms at their university.
As he looked around, Siltri saw his classmates, including his close friend Sylvie Lewis, who was now known as Dr. Lewis. They were all sitting at their desks, listening intently to the instructor. Siltri felt a rush of nostalgia as he remembered this time before the incident of opening the first portal.
He saw the cheerful smiles of everyone enjoying their class, and he felt a sense of comfort and peace. For a moment, Siltri forgot about the chaos and danger that he had just experienced.
"Hey, Siltri! Are you even paying attention?" Sylvie whispered, nudging him in the arm.
Siltri chuckled and turned to face her. "Of course, I am. Just lost in thought for a moment."
Sylvie grinned mischievously. "Well, I was just saying that we should sneak out after this class and try to steal some precious resources from the lab. I heard that someone left their lab coat in the locker room. Here, I have some keys we can use those resources for future research. "
Siltri shook his head, amused but also serious. "As fun, as that sounds, I can't afford to get in trouble right now. I'm too close to a breakthrough in my invention. I can't risk anything derailing my progress."
Sylvie sighed but nodded in understanding. "Okay, fine. But don't forget to have a little fun once in a while. You're working too hard, Silt."
As the class ended and everyone packed up their things, Siltri's mind wandered to another memory. He was in a laboratory at the academy, tinkering with things. He remembered that it was his time to discover a storage that is unique to others.
"Hey, genius!" Sylvie called out, interrupting his thoughts.
Siltri turned to face her, a little surprised. "What's up?"
"Have you heard the latest gossip? Everyone is talking about your new invention. They say it's brilliant!" Sylvie said, grinning from ear to ear.
Siltri blushed, feeling a little embarrassed. "Oh, it's nothing really. Just a new method for item storage."
Sylvie rolled her eyes. "Just a new method? You've created something that could change the way we store and transport items forever. You're a genius, Silt."
Their other friends, who had overheard their conversation, chimed in, teasing Siltri about how he would be single for a long time because of his focus on his inventions. They all laughed together, enjoying the lighthearted moment.
As Siltri thought back on his discovery, he realized that he missed those simpler times. He missed the feeling of discovering something new and exciting. He missed being able to focus solely on his studies without the burden of the responsibilities that came with opening portals to different dimensions.
Siltri closed his eyes and took a deep breath, savoring the memories of his past. He knew that he had a long road ahead of him, filled with danger and uncertainty. But for a moment, he allowed himself to bask in the warmth of his memories, hoping that they would give him the strength and courage to face the challenges that lay ahead.
Suddenly, Siltri's memories shifted to a darker time. He was back in the same classroom, but this time it was different. The room was in shambles, with overturned desks and shattered windows. The walls were scorched and the floor was covered in rubble.
Siltri's heart raced as he realized that this was the aftermath of the extraterrestrial attack. He could hear the distant screams of his fellow students and the sounds of destruction outside. It was chaos.
Siltri stood frozen, unable to move as he watched the events unfold before him. The memory was too vivid, too real. He could feel his heart breaking as he watched the creatures from another dimension wreaking havoc and destruction on everything in their path.
Tears streamed down Siltri's face as he ran around trying to save everyone but to no avail. His efforts were futile in the face of such chaos and destruction. The memory was too much to bear, and Siltri fell to his knees, overwhelmed by the pain and loss.
Then, he was brought to a familiar scenery. Siltri was now in a different place, but the chaos and destruction continued. He was in his family's mansion, his mother, and his siblings frantically packing up their belongings. Vee, his faithful wolf companion, was still a young pup, smaller and more vulnerable than he remembered.
He can vividly remember that everyone was asked to evacuate the city and go to the nearby military bases due to the sudden invasion of extraterrestrial beasts that their city needs to overcome.
Suddenly, Vee began barking fiercely and growling loudly. Siltri saw a group of humanoid creatures emerging from the shadows, their bodies covered in black scales and their eyes glowing with a malevolent light.
The creatures charged toward the family, their claws and teeth bared. Siltri's family fought back with everything they had, but they were outnumbered and outmatched. Siltri could feel his heart pounding in his chest as he watched the chaotic scene unfold.
He can see his family being slaughtered in front of him, he tried to fight and keep the creatures away but we could do nothing inside his memory but watch as the scenes unfold before him.
Minutes later, Siltri can see himself running into the scene, arriving late and nothing was left in their household but ruins and the remains of his family. Vee was the only one left but with gasping to breathe and wounded.
He can see his father arriving late at their mansion, and he can see himself holding his siblings in his arms and being filled with blood filled with emotions of anger, grief, and regrets.
All the while everything went black and he was left alone to himself, his head was hurting as a lot of memories flooded through his mind. Everything around him was chaos and he was confused about what to do.
Siltri's head was pounding, and he struggled to make sense of the memories flooding his mind. He tried to shake them off, but they seemed to be overpowering him, making him feel as though he was drowning in a sea of emotions.
Slowly, he was dragged out of consciousness.
He notices that his body was changing, his temperature was rising and his heart was beating fast. He can sense more of his environment around him and hear the sounds around him.
As Siltri becomes more aware of his surroundings, he realizes that he is not alone. He can hear the faint sounds of footsteps approaching him, and he can smell the scent of medicine around him.
Siltri tries to focus on the present moment, taking deep breaths to calm his racing heart and clear his mind. He opens his eyes and sees that he is lying in a hospital bed with medical equipment attached to him.
He looks around and heard someone open the door, he looks up and can see Dr. Lewis. Checking his vitals and his condition.
"Sylvie? Is that you?" He closed his eyes again, trying to relax and calm his mind. "What happened to me?"
Dr. Lewis then pinched his ears "You know what? You're really an idiot Siltriver Rayn."
"Why did you risk your life again in such a dangerous situation? Did you know how much Vee has done to save your life?" She lectured.
"What happened to Vee? How is he?" Siltri asked.
Dr. Lewis's voice suddenly rises, her eyes flashing with little anger. "What happened to Vee? What do you think happened? He almost died trying to save your sorry ass! And you, you're lucky to be alive right now. Do you have any idea how much trouble you caused for everyone who cares about you?"
Her tone softened slightly as she continued, "But don't worry, he's fine. We were able to get him the medical attention he needed, and he's recovering now. He give his all, he saved your life Silt."
Tears then flowed down her eyes, after feeling relieved to see her closest friend to be alive and breathing. She hugged him close to his chest, while tears falls down from her eyes.
Dr.Lewis may be mad at him, but she also cares deeply about his well-being and the safety of those around him.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cause any trouble," he says quietly, his head bowed in shame.
Dr. Lewis sighs heavily and her tone softens a bit. "I know you didn't mean to, Silt. But you need to start thinking before you act. You have people who care about you and who depend on you. You can't just go charging into dangerous situations without considering the consequences. You're really as stupid as ever."
"Thank you so much Sylv, thank you for always being there with us." He quietly bowed his head feeling all the guilt and shame.
Dr. Lewis chuckles softly, trying to lighten the mood. "Well, I can't just abandon my favorite patient, now, can I? Plus, I have to keep an eye on you to make sure you don't do anything too crazy again."
Siltri smiles weakly, grateful for Dr. Lewis's humor. "I promise I'll be more careful in the future."
Dr. Lewis pats his hand reassuringly. "Good. Now, you need to rest and recover. You're lucky to be alive, Silt, so don't waste this second chance you've been given."
Siltri nods and closes his eyes, feeling the exhaustion wash over him. He knows he needs to take Dr. Lewis's words to heart and be more responsible in the future. He also knows he owes Vee his life and is grateful beyond words for his friend's bravery and sacrifice.
As he drifts off to sleep, he can feel some changes in his body. He can feel the beating of his heart, his brain rewiring, and a lot of things happening inside his body, but it does not matter all he wants was to rest.
But little did he know, that the changes he was feeling were just the beginning of a much bigger transformation. A transformation that would change everything he knew about himself and the world around him.
As Siltri sleeps, his body begins to undergo a transformation. The serum injected into him flowed into his veins, and changes were slowly made.
Cells were destroyed and repaired, and his cellular functions were altered. Integrating every memory, and creating new connections to the brain, making him wiser and more intelligent.
Hours pass by, and Siltri continues to sleep peacefully, completely unaware of what is happening to him. It wasn't until he woke up the next morning that he realizes something is different.
