Gaming IRL?

Blake Corvin returns with his family to visit his old world before he had gotten isekaied. Read as Blake, Selene, and Lena get up to some tomfoolery in our world before taking a quick stop to the world of DbD, where all three proceed to absolutely clown on The Entity and it’s chosen Killer. You may need to read Gaming in the Underworld before this if you want to get the background information to the lore. It isn’t wholly necessary though.

Date Night

Taking a vampire who wore nothing but leather bodysuits for decades shopping for clothes was as difficult as it sounds. Selene spent nearly four hours looking through dresses alone.

When she got to the 'bottoms' section it got even worse. She didn't know if she should go with utilitarian or skintight leggings. At that point I had been hoping to jump into a dungeon to alleviate the boredom that had fallen over me.

I had forgotten how much of a pain it was to go to malls, especially with a woman. Selene may have been a badass but she still had some feminine qualities, mainly buying nearly one outfit for every day of the month.

Now that she wasn't out killing Lycans everyday she thought she should embrace her more girly side. Not that I would complain, some of the outfits she picked made me want to ravish her on the spot.

We dropped off the stuff she bought at the hotel before giving Lena and the kids instructions on how to reach me should anything happen.

Which in this case, being that we were in my original world, which was as mundane as it got, I really doubted that anything could happen in my absence. That said, it didn't hurt to be prepared for the worst.

In the hotel's secluded parking lot I pulled out my Bugatti and hopped in the driver's side after opening the passenger door for Selene. I may be a total murderous psychopath but I was still a gentleman.

We peeled out of the parking lot nearly clipping a curb before driving down the road towards the city center. A few minutes later I was tossing the keys to a valet and leading Selene into a Brazilian steakhouse.

Halfway through our meal I decided that it was about time that I presented Selene with a ring. We may as well have been married already but I wanted to make it 'official' so to speak. She looked at me strangely as I had been staring off into the distance. Snapping my fingers I froze time and teleported to the nearest jewelry shop.

Realizing that I had obscene amounts of money and that nothing I bought here would be as meaningful as something I made. I jumped into my inventory and looked around. I had plenty of precious metals laying about, I also had lots of gems that I had looted in my earlier trips through my dungeons.

Only thing was, I didn't have a crafting skill. Nor did I know anything about forging. Sure I used to love watching videos of knives and swords being forged but it wasn't like I could just wave my hand and magic a ring into existence…

'Oh wait, I have the broken Harry Potter magic. I can literally do exactly that.'

I gathered the pieces for the ring I had planned and found the wand I had bought on a shelf. A few minutes of concentration, a flick of the wand, and a massive drop in my MP later I had a ring sitting in front of me.

The band was intricately carved platinum, the stone was a large teardrop shaped sapphire that I had enchanted with magic. Casting a quick Observe on the ring to see if my work held I read the information that appeared on my screen.

Enchanted Ring (Unannamed):

A ring on the levels of the Rings of Power crafted by Annatar, or more commonly known as Sauron. This enchanted ring gives the wearer control over lighting. The ring also boosts the wearer's stats by 200% their base value. The first of its kind, wearers will be able to sense each other through a connection made by the ring. The ring also protects the wearer's mind from outside influences and shields the mind from mind reading abilities.

'Fuck me, that's a broken ass power. I'm really embracing this Tolkien theme I've set for myself. Now I just need to make a few more and I'll basically be Sauron.'

I clicked on the rename tab and hovered over the digital keyboard that appeared. In truth, I was shit at coming up with names. Hence the fact that I set my 'true name' to that of Morgoth or that my name was still 'Blake' even though I had the chance to start over with a clean slate.

Shrugging I decided to name the ring 'Fulgora', the Roman personification of lightning.

I stuffed the ring into my pocket and teleported back to the restaurant where everything was still frozen. Sitting back down and hoping that Selene wouldn't notice I unfroze time and looked around. When my eyes drifted back to Selene, I was met with narrowed eyes.

"You froze time didn't you?"

"How did you even notice?" I decided to not play dumb.

"Blake, I've been with you for a while now. I'd notice small things like that. Also you lost your coat." She said with a grin.

I looked down and cursed, I had taken off my coat to craft the ring and never put it back on. Letting out a sigh I put a hand into my pocket and grabbed the ring.

"I was making something, I forgot to put it on."

"Oh? What were you making?"

"As you said, we've been together a while now. Almost a full year. We have a family, something neither you or I ever predicted. We're life mates, practically married in the eyes of our kind. Yet I still think we should make things official."

"Are you asking me to marry you?" She whispered.

I took the ring out of my pocket and slid it on her finger. There was a small flash of light as it resized to fit her finger. I looked her in the eyes and smiled.

"I am, so what do you say?"

"You already know the answer." She returned my smile.
