Hello everyone. Sadly, the last few days I've been very busy with life, and publishing has been a little inconsistent. The publish rate for novels was 5-7 a week, but so far, I've never published fewer than 7 a week and have even published extras. But yeah, lately I'm a bit busy, and it might be delayed a little. As they neared the supposed location of the mission, Horyu signaled Ino to pause. "Wait here. I will talk with my contact, then we will go and fetch the scroll." Ino, though puzzled, nodded. She watched from atop a tree as Horyu's form subtly shifted, taking on the guise of a man she didn't recognize. Moving deeper into the forest, she observed him meet another unfamiliar figure, which was in fact Horyu's clone, also disguised. After a brief exchange, the clone departed, and Horyu reverted to his original appearance, returning to where Ino was perched.

"You have it?" Ino queried as he approached.

Horyu nodded, "Let's go. It is not far from here."

Their path led them to the entrance of a cave system. "Let me," Horyu insisted, forming a Shadow Clone and sending it ahead to scout. Moments later, he reassured her, "Clone found no danger. Let's go." Inside, the clone had already placed the forged scroll. Horyu, ever vigilant, positioned himself protectively in front of Ino, eliciting a blush and a smile from her.

They navigated the cave's dimly lit passages until they reached a chamber that seemed to hum with ancient secrets. The search for the scroll proved challenging, thanks to the clone's effective hiding spot. Fifteen minutes of diligent searching later, they uncovered the scroll nestled behind a loose stone.

Ino eagerly unfurled the scroll, her eyes scanning the intricate descriptions. The technique detailed within was an advanced form of the Yamanaka's Mind Transfer Jutsu. The "Yamanaka Mind Stream," as it was called, offered a refined method for transferring consciousness. By executing a unique sequence of hand signs, a shinobi could forge a more stable and less taxing mental link, enabling quicker recuperation and the possibility for back-to-back applications.

This technique promised an expanded range and duration for controlling another's mind, enhancing the strategic applications of the jutsu. Yet, it was clear that mastery depended on the user's proficiency and mental fortitude.

Horyu watched Ino's reaction closely, her excitement palpable. "This... This could change everything for us," she murmured, awe-struck by the potential the scroll held.

"It's a significant step," Horyu agreed, his tone measured, betraying none of the fabrication behind the scroll's origin. "Imagine the applications in reconnaissance, or even in combat situations. It could provide your clan with a considerable edge."

Ino held the scroll carefully, securing it in her embrace. "We need to show this to my father as soon as we return. He won't believe it."

Horyu stopped her with a calm, measured tone, "Look, there is something else at the back." Ino, her interest piqued, turned the scroll over, and her eyes widened in astonishment. "This is..." she began, her voice trailing off as she read the side technique aloud, ""Mind Ripple." When the user initiates the Mind Transfer Jutsu, they can deploy a subtle ripple effect through the chakra network of the target. This ripple is capable of momentarily disorienting other nearby individuals who are connected to the target through chakra threads or physical contact. The Mind Ripple doesn't control or inflict significant harm; instead, it serves to create brief confusion and distraction, providing the user an edge in stealth or combat situations by making the environment slightly more chaotic and the enemies less coordinated." Her excitement was evident, her voice tinged with the thrill of discovery.

Ino looked up at Horyu, her eyes shining with a mix of gratitude and newfound respect. "This... We could do so much with this. It's like having an extra layer of strategy at our fingertips," she remarked, a note of awe in her voice.

Horyu, maintaining his stoic demeanor, nodded in agreement. "It adds a dimension to the Yamanaka's abilities that could be quite disruptive in the field. Not just for offense, but it's a defensive maneuver that could save lives."

They both understood the gravity of their find, the silence between them filled with the weight of potential futures unfolding from the scroll in Ino's hands. After securing the scroll carefully in her bag, they prepared to leave the cave, the mission seemingly completed.

As they were about to leave, Horyu's foot caught on a rock, intentionally, causing him to stumble and reveal a hidden hole in the wall. Peering inside, they discovered another scroll. Horyu watched Ino's reaction closely as she extracted it, her hands trembling slightly with anticipation. This was the moment he had meticulously planned for, the real test of Ino's resolve and loyalty.

Ino unfurled the scroll, her eyes scanning the ancient script. As she read, her breath hitched, a visible sign of her shock. "Yamanaka Mind Echo..." she whispered, the words leaving her lips like a sacred mantra. The technique described was beyond anything she had imagined, a testament to the depth of her clan's legacy and its untapped potential. She, stuttering, read, "This technique allows the user to not only transfer their consciousness into another's body but also to fragment their mind, creating echoes of their consciousness within multiple targets simultaneously. While the user maintains control over their primary host body, these echoes can gather information, subtly influence the thoughts and actions of others, or even disrupt the mental processes of their targets, leading to confusion, incapacitation, or in severe cases, rendering the victim unconscious."

Horyu observed her silently, his expression unreadable. The technique's description outlined a level of skill and risk that would tempt any shinobi, especially one as dedicated to her clan's advancement as Ino. It was a dangerous gambit, revealing something so powerful, but it was essential to gauge her reaction, to understand her true motivations.

"This... this is incredible," Ino breathed out, her voice a mix of awe and uncertainty. "But the risks..." She looked up at Horyu, seeking guidance, reassurance—anything to anchor her in the whirlwind of emotions this discovery had unleashed.

Horyu met her gaze squarely. "It is. And the risks are significant. But think of what it means, Ino. The power to influence, to gather intelligence without detection, to shape outcomes from the shadows. It's a tool that could change the very fabric of shinobi warfare," he said, his tone even, yet laced with an undercurrent of persuasion.

Ino's eyes darted back to the scroll, then to Horyu. "But to fragment one's consciousness... the damage it could cause..." she trailed off, the weight of the decision pressing down on her.

Horyu proposed, "Remember what I said, Ino. Sometimes, you must be selfish. This is one of those times. If you give this scroll to your clan, it will elevate their strength, but it will create an imbalance within the village, risking retaliation. But if you keep it hidden and get stronger through it, you can still support your clan and village. Only two of us know its existence. If you trust me, I trust you too." This was the true test Horyu crafted. To see if Ino would be loyal to herself and him, or to her clan and village. This was the turning point where Horyu would decide if he would have a place on his side for Ino or not.

Ino hesitated, her fingers tracing the ancient script of the scroll. The weight of Horyu's words settled over her, a heavy cloak of responsibility and potential betrayal. She looked up at him, searching his eyes for any sign of duplicity, but found none. Only a stark, unwavering belief in his logic, in the path he proposed.

"This... it goes against everything I've been taught," Ino admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. The turmoil within her was evident, a storm of loyalty and the enticing pull of power.

Horyu stepped closer, his presence a solid, reassuring force. "What you've been taught was for a world that doesn't forgive weakness, Ino. We're not just shinobi; we're tools for our village, expected to sacrifice everything. But who protects us from becoming disposable? Who ensures our worth is recognized?" His words were like a blade, cutting through her doubts, aiming straight for the core of her beliefs.

Ino's gaze dropped to the scroll in her hands, the potential for monumental change within her grasp. "But keeping this from my clan..." she trailed off, the conflict evident in her voice.

Horyu leaned in, his tone insistent yet gentle. "Is protecting yourself and by extension, those you care about. This technique, if mastered by you, could make you one of the strongest in the village. Not for dominance, but for deterrence. With this, you can ensure your voice is heard, that your clan's welfare is prioritized."
