Magic!

Weeks passed by while staying at Ser Harold's residence, the boys would go to sleep at midnight for six hours before waking up as the sun rises.

Almost every day they were pushed past their limits, they were told to run roughly ten miles every day, five in the morning and five at night.

Their strength training was mostly pushups and sit-ups due to their age.

They were taught the art of honing their blade, making sure it stayed clean, sharp, and well-maintained.

On the days they would get to rest and recuperate, they still had to do some light training but nothing rigorous.

They were taught how to use different weapons and each weapon has its own strengths and weaknesses in certain situations.

Now, one month into staying at his new home, Alex looks over at his sleeping friend and partner, Lorik.

The boys are covered in sweat due to the blistering heat they had been training in, their skin red and burnt.

Alex had hoped that Lorik wouldn't be spiteful due to never winning against him but his fears disappeared, every time Lorik lost, he had a giant smile on his face.

"Losing is more valuable than winning in practice, it tells you what you did wrong, shows your weaknesses, and tells you where to improve", this was Lorik's way of training, it was something Harold had told him and he took it like it was his life's motto.

After every defeat, he would ask his teacher and partner what he did wrong and would work hard to correct it.

Lorik for his age was tremendous, quick, agile, and very smart but Alexander was already many times stronger when he arrived, and the month of Spartan-like training he's received has only made his stats grow tremendously.

Making sure Lorik is asleep, he opens his System menu.

'System, put one point into Vitality, two points into Perception, and the last seven into Intelligence'

As he dumps seven points into Intelligence, his mind goes numb for a second as his thought process quickens, his muscle memory, and learning capability become sharper.

'System, what can i buy for thirty-five store points?'

[Skill Book: Archery = 20sp] [Skill Book: Stealth = 15sp] [Skill Book: Barter = 15sp] [Skill Book: Inventing = 10sp] [Skill Book: Blacksmithing = 10sp] [Skill Book: Indimidation = 10sp] [Stat Book: Magic = 25sp]

To say that his eyes almost fell out of their sockets wouldn't be far from the truth, magic was something that always interested him but upon his birth when he saw that there was no stat for Magic or Mana, so he just thought he couldn't do it.

'System, purchase the magic stat book and skill book, intimidation'

[Thank you for buying from the store, Intimidation is an active skill that you may activate whenevr you like, it will cause people to be stricken with fear but it does not work on those with strong willpower]

[Due to purchasing the stat book, Magic, you will need to undergo a metamorphosis, your body will need to sleep for four hours]

The moment he finishes reading the pop-up, he falls unconscious on his bed,

As he sleeps, a new force slows throughout his body, strengthening his cells and giving new power to every fiber of his being.

Opening his eyes, feels a warm gel-like substance covering and moving around his body, he feels reinvigorated with new energy.

[Choose four of the following eight magic types, be warned, you will need to pay one hundred Store Points the others, each one costs one hundred]

'Okay, i guess it makes sense in a way'

[Illusion involves manipulating the mind and senses of the enemy. This skill makes it easier to cast spells like fear, charm, and invisibility]

[Alteration magic can be used to change the fundamentals of physics and biology. It can harden the caster's skin until it is like armor, cause a lock to pop open without a key, or burden an enemy with invisible weight]

[Destruction magic is the most combat effective, allowing the user to shoot lightning from his fingertips, burn enemies with fire or freeze them entirely]

[Conjuration allows the user to call forth creatures from other worlds and creating weapons with magic, these two are of the most beneficial tools a caster can utilize]

[Restoration is dedicated to healing injuries, curing illnesses, poisons, and diseases, the fortification of attributes, shielding and preventing damage]

[Mysticism can tell one what is around the next corner, lying in wait for you to wander by]

[Necromancy particularly deals with enslavement and utilization of involuntary souls and their bodies]

[Enchanting allows the user to add certain magical improvements and buffs to weapons, armor, and jewelry]

'Okay, well this is easier than i thought... System, I'll take Destruction, Restoration, Conjuration, and Alteration'

As soon as the words leave his mouth, a plethora of information regarding each of the four magic types enters his mind, he instantly learns some beginner spells.

In the matter of the next few minutes of sorting through the new information he just received, he learned one skill from each type.

Learning Destruction gave him the Shock, the ability to shoot lightning from his fingertips, the spell had a range limit of ten meters.

Restoration gave him the spell, Healing, it would allow him to heal himself and other od minor wounds but would take longer the more severe the damage.

He was slightly disappointed with his Conjuration spell, Bound Dagger, he could summon a dagger made from pure magic, it would be helpful if he was ever unarmed but other than that, it was useless.

Lastly, Alteration, learning this magic gave him Oakflesh, a spell that made his skin as tough and strong as wood.

He now had an offensive, defensive, support, and stealth spell for each and every scenario.

Jumping out of bed, he quickly gets dressed before heading down for breakfast with a massive smile on his face.

Author's Notes.

I know the spells and schools of magic i used are from Skyrim but don't worry, there will be magic from many games, movies, and books that will later become available to him if he works hard enough.

There will be a timeskip next chapter, probably about three years, but i will tell you everything he learned and what happened between those three years.

Thank you all for reading and your patience, I'm currently writing like seven different fanfics at the moment, but I'm not dropping any of them, so don't worry.

Question, what magic schools would you have chosen, let me know by writing a comment on this paragraph!
