Game to Live

The start. At the start of the year 2020, a new online community came into existence. No one ever explained what it was, and neither understood what it was about. There was a huge mystery as it seemed people inside were from other worlds. The common theme was them talking about a particular world that combined all the magical stories as well as all of the eastern novels together into the world where it all existed together. The world was named "Game to Live". On January 15th 2020, Kyle saw it in an online community of his favourite MMORPG. An elf character, level 62, mentioned that "I have decided to accept an invite to 'Game to Live' I hope that there I can grind to my heart's content." After reading the thread further, he didn't find anyone else mentioning it. After he refreshed the page, the comment was gone and that persons account got banned. What's more that it seemed anything that person posted ever online was evaporated from the server. Join Kyle in exploring the new world that is full of opportunities. See how Kyle uses the system as well as old and ancient cultivation techniques to stand above everyone. Not a Harem.

Chapter 29- Hunting ground

Kyle walked out of the tent and on to the vast grassland. In front of him was a forest that looked normal from outside, but it was one that didn't have a name. It was a forest area known to have low-level mobs. After the anomaly that has happened with beasts getting a power-up, it was now very rare to see any adventurers here.

Kyle, on the other hand, was too strong to deal with level 0 beats, he was eager to try the level 1 beasts to see what they were.

He already felt that beasts were impatient and were waiting from inside the forest for Kyle to step in. As the green grassland was a forbidden zone, they didn't dare to attack him straight away, but once Kyle got in, there would be a slaughter with no turning back.

Kyle adjusted his bearing, picking up the wolf fang in one hand and one decent quality sword from the village in the other. He cracked his knuckles and with qi fully circulating and powering up inside of his body, he rushed into the forest.

Kyle right now couldn't see any beasts, but he knew that they were there. Every animal when born started with a normal body, as long as an animal was eating rich in qi and spiritual essence food, it would upgrade to level 0, from there the animal could go as far as cultivating with its body's qi to reach higher levels. Kyle so far only dealt with normal animals, and a couple of level 0 beasts, that is why he couldn't wait to see what would level 1 beasts drop and how much energy they had.

As soon as Kyle crossed the border of the forest, an eagle from the closest tree pounced at him. The eagle was huge, with a wingspan of at least 2 metres. It was fully brown in colour with some grey feathers. Its claws also had a metallic lustre. This signalled that it was better to avoid them at all costs. Kyle did not panic as he was expecting this. He swiftly dodged to the side and used the man-made sword to slash at the edge. The sword was much longer than the wolf fang dagger and would be easier to hit with, a moving target.

The sword did not break as Kyle anticipated, it slashed through the air, making a slash sound and cut right through the eagle, separating the body in half.

Considering that Kyle could barely survive the level 0 beasts before, this eagle now was like a practice dummy to Kyle.

'This is great! EXP, come to me!' Kyle started absorbing the energy that the eagle had; the energy was, to say the least too small for Kyle. He didn't feel anything. The dantian and qi didn't react in the slightest. 'Considering that I just absorbed two level 3 beasts, this is not surprising. I will have to make up for it with quantity!' Kyle rushed further into the forest. He was meeting many different types of animals, all of them seemed normal, but had some different attributes that separated them from normal beasts and ranked them in the level 0 category.

Finally, after slaughtering everything in sight and being in the forest for an hour, Kyle met level 1 beasts. Three rabbits were on the green plane, eating something. Even though Kyle has been ignoring small enemies because he felt that it was too unfair, these rabbits had red eyes and a grey cross on their foreheads. As they heard Kyle rushing past them, they turned their heads at him and screamed.

The fight was 3 on 1, and these rabbits clearly knew what they were doing. After all, they were eating a wolf when Kyle interrupted them. Their movements were swift, and Kyle was barely able to keep track of 2 rabbits at the same time. The third rabbit has fully disappeared from his view, to only appear from behind. All 3 of the rabbits rushed at Kyle. 'They have encircled me, this is going to be a really tough fight,' Kyle didn't like dealing with multiple enemies, he didn't have enough battle experience just yet for this.

Kyle rolled to the side and was about to retaliate as stabbing pain came from the back of his left leg ankle a large deep scratch was on that area, and a rabbit was about to dive deeper into Kyle's flesh. The pain was extreme. Kyle has not been hurt too much ever since he came into this world. Now though one rabbit has already dealt a deep wound, and two more rabbits were about to attack.

Kyle's circulating qi straight away rushed to the wound to help heal and close it up. 'I didn't want to use any of the techniques and try to deal with all of this with my own physical strength, but in the situation such as this it seems that I have no choice.' Kyle clicked his tongue, and azure qi rushed to his hand. 5 points of light appeared on his palm. Kyle jumped into the air and aimed the palm onto two rabbits that were standing close to each other, then he bent his finger, releasing the Wave of Conviction. The rabbits that were about to pounce at him were now both pierced by the white and yellow straight beam that disappeared just as fast as it came. Kyle lost at least 2% of his qi reservoir by using this technique every time. If he had to use the Wave of Conviction for every fight with level 1 beast, he would be overwhelmed very quickly.

The last rabbits, seeing fresh blood gushing from the other two rabbits, went made and with a shriek jumped at Kyle. Now it was a 1 on 1 battle, Kyle gripped his wolf fang and easily deflected rabbits strike and sliced it open.

Now the fight was over. Kyle was panting. His breathing was fast, and his heart rate was at least at 180 beets per minute. 'This was too close… And again, what is up with bunnies and rabbits in this world?' Kyle's leg was still hurting, but clearly, azure qi was busy repairing any damage and was quickly closing up the wound. Kyle started, as usual, absorbing energy.

'Level 1 beasts surely have much better energy than level 0. I will recover the qi I used up and also grow my strength.' He could feel the power increasing and the qi in his meridians becoming thicker.

With this, Kyle knew that his tactic against multiple enemies would be to use the Wave of Conviction and try to get into a favourable position as soon as possible.

Also, Kyle was trying to utilise the lighting step when he was moving around the forest. Even though he could not utilise the skill even to the first limit, as he didn't have lighting affinity, he still practised the footwork and imitated the final move. This absurd footwork already boosted his speed considerably in both outside and inside the battle.

There were many level 0 beasts that seemed very scared of any movement, and Kyle had even to chase them around. This was completely different from what he experienced in other forests. The most likely explanation was because of the level 1 and level 2 enemies, normal beasts couldn't run havoc and had to be much more careful, this allowed Kyle to focus at more powerful beasts and get better energy.

The slaughter continued…
