The Queen of Sweets (2)

Before deciding on his next actions, he decided to have a private conversation with Ashara on whether she even desired to focus on a project of her own and if she even appreciated the decision Victor made for her.

There was no point in trying to design a new career path for her and give her more freedom in her everyday life if she didn't even desire something like that.

The next day he invited Ashara to a walk on the beach and they took his little sisters with them. They enjoyed a quiet morning playing around in the snow-white sand and everybody was very happy.

After building some sandcastles Giulia and Diane got a little sleepy. Ashara and Victor decided to bring them home together and handed them over to Isabella who lovingly took them to their bedroom and let them take a nap.

Ashara went to the bathroom and refreshed herself while Victor just straight up jumped in his private pool with view of the ocean.

After half an hour Ashara returned wearing a white dress decorated with many jewelries. She looked very stunning, and her purple eyes were an amazing contrast to her white dress. Victor was amazed by the large pearl necklace she wore.

This was a gift specially prepared by his mother for Ashara because she lovingly took great care of her two daughters, and she wanted the necklace to represent her connection with the Di Natale family.

"Ashara, are you happy with your life in Canahs? Staying with my family and me, far away from your home in Dorne?" Victor asked with a smile on his face, but secretly a little afraid of the answer he might get.

The beautiful dornish girl was very surprised by this question, because she never expected such doubts from the always confident heir of House Di Natale. Victor always acted like he had complete control over the world, and she never saw doubt in his eyes, let alone a little emotion of panic.

But after some surprise she grew increasingly happy and, in the end, couldn't help but laugh out loud. Victor was completely dazed by her reaction and the beautiful picture of the woman in front of him laughing, while the sun was shining on her purple eyes. The picture in front of him was completely natural and his mood became very peaceful. He couldn't remember a time when he felt as content as right now.

"I am very happy Victor, why are you even asking this? I think my emotions and mood are obvious, even to a brute man like you!

There is not a single thing bothering me. I am not even homesick anymore. Everything in Canahs is a lot better than it ever was in Dorne and the only person I miss is my big brother, but he would be in King's Landing anyways and there is no place for me by his side.

If not for you and House Di Natale my fate would become a maid of the future queen, instead I can grow up freely and do pretty much whatever I like, while living in a wonderful place without any worries. I don't think there is any girl luckier than me, I truly believe that."

Honestly this answer confused him a lot and he grew unsure of whether to continue the topic or just let her be at peace. Obviously, Ashara was truly content with her situation, and he didn't want to ruin the good mood.

The smart girl could naturally perceive the emotional struggle going on right in front of her. The situation scared her a little bit because something similar never really happened before. She mustered up her courage and decided to ask what's on her mind.

"Victor if something is bothering you and it's related to me you can always talk to me about it. I'm not sure if I can be of much help, but things surely won't get any worse, right? Do you mind talking about what's on your mind?"

Suddenly Victor felt a little silly because he was worrying about the feelings of the person sitting right in front of him without any reason. He only had positive intentions for Ashara and there was no problem just asking for her opinion.

If she didn't like the idea of creating, her own career she would probably just say so and he could decide on somebody else for the position in charge of chocolate and the summer islands. Once he realized he was worrying without any reason his mood improved a lot quickly.

"Well, I was actually worrying about you to a certain extent, but I should have just talked to you and asked for your opinion, instead of worrying unnecessarily.

I always assumed you were bored while staying with my family and I tried looking for something you could do, something you would feel relied only on your effort to become successful. You can understand it as a new career only for you.

Recently I found a new opportunity to increase the business of the family by a lot. Something that was never seen before, and you could try to create something out of your sheer imagination and maybe become a famous lady in the future.

But after learning about your situation right now and seeing that you truly feel happy and content with your life my doubts increased again, and I felt unsure whether to talk to you about this plan. I don't want you to agree to something I say only because you feel the need to say yes, or because you feel indebted towards my family. I truly only wish for you to be happier in the future.

So, whatever I talk about next you don't need to say yes or no, there's not even a need to give an immediate answer, just think about it on your own and tell me whether you would like to try or not, is that ok with you?"

When he finished his encouraging speech and looked back from the ocean towards the beautiful girl with purple eyes, he was extremely surprised to see tears falling down from them.
