Ch. 11 Starfall

After the small supper and celebration, Sylas asked Arthur to go to the beautiful gardens of Starfall.

"Do you think I should give your older brother some of my blood?" Asked Sylas as he had some reservations about doing so.

"I can't say that I like the idea, but… If he has promised you House Dayne's loyalty, I don't think it matters as much, since my brother won't betray you." Arthur said slowly as if he was thinking while talking.

"The thing is, I don't know how much we'll live…" Sylas said softly, with a hint of sadness.

"What do you mean?" Arthur was slightly confused.

"Thanks to the blood magic and water magic, we should be able to live longer than anyone, so I have to think about who I give my magic to since it's limited. If I have children with Ashara, I don't want to live more than them. My heart aches at the mere thought that I will live and see many other people die because I wasn't able to make them live as long as me." Sylas said with some grief in his tone.

"I… How many people can you bind?" Arthur asked with concern.

'Status' Thought Sylas.

"One hundred people, I think I will leave forty-seven more spots for my family, the other fifty are going to be for knights, the number can grow the more I develop myself as a person and the stronger my will and resolve. When I was nine namedays I was able to use it on 10 people." Sylas said with a bit of relief.

"I think it's a pretty good idea." Arthur also sighed with some relief. "Let's go find Ulrick." He said while starting to walk toward his brother's chambers.

"Is your brother married?" Sylas asked.

"No, he isn't, when he was younger, he fell in love with a commoner, but my father denied him such a marriage, since then, he hasn't found anyone who he truly wishes to marry."

"Welp, now that he is a lord, he is able to marry anyone," Sylas said with a smile.

"Unfortunately, that smallfolk girl died from a small plague outbreak," Arthur said with some remorse. "We are here, let me knock, I'll convince him since he'll listen to me." He said with a small smile.

"Who?" Asked Ulrick from inside his chambers.

"It's me and Sylas." Said Arthur.

"Come in." He said calmly. "What happened?" He asked when the duo entered the room and closed the door behind them.

"Do you remember that I trusted Sylas with my life and that he is a genius that Westeros hasn't seen? I come to show you why I trust him blindly, although you can say no to what's going to happen I hope you can keep everything we are going to discuss here in secret, no soul must know about this" Arthur said seriously.

Ulrick nodded with a small grimace on his face. "Alright, Sylas is a champion of Mother Rhoyne and another Deity, he can bind people with blood to help them, heal them and make them loyal," Arthur said slowly and calmly.

"What he means by loyal is that anyone who has received my blood won't be able to betray me, meaning, you won't be able to stab me in the back, your own free will remains, but you won't be able to hurt me, nor you will be able to order someone to hurt me" Sylas intervened immediately.

"This… how is such a thing possible?" He stuttered a bit while staring at Sylas.

"When I was nine, I got to The Water Gardens, there, in the pools of the gardens I suddenly learned of everything, and in a dream later in that day, I understood everything. Mother Rhoyne and the other entity don't want me to become king or a great prophet, they said that I just had to enjoy my life, and that I plan to do, Ulrick, I consider you a sort of uncle since our families are going to be bound together, I want to help you, with the blood magic I can grant you the ability to either be a master of the sword, a great administrator or see other people's talents and loyalty" Sylas said slowly with a smile.

Ulrick sat on his bed and thought for a few minutes, Sylas was sitting on the ground and Arthur was on the bed with an arm on his brother's shoulder. "Alright, I've decided, I will do it," Ulrick said with a sigh and his eyes closed.

Sylas stood up, cleaned his hand, and took out his dagger, with a small slit on his palm, he moved towards Ulrick. "I swear that you won't lack anything and I'll help you with everything, we are family from now on, true family," Saylas said as a few drops of his blood leaked from his palm to the Lord's mouth.

'Blood bind' Sylas said in his thoughts and a few particles started flowing out of Ulrick's body, illuminating the room by a pale blue glint with small ripples on the light, making it look like a small pond was illuminated in the room. Arthur took out a canteen with water and this started creeping out of the canteen and it got into Ulrick's forehead, where it disappeared.

The particles died down and Sylas said in his thoughts 'Grant Inspect to Ulrick, Grant Administration to Ulrick, Grant Swordsmanship to Ulrick' But he was surprised when he saw something in the middle of his sight.

#ERROR, OBJECTIVE'S WILL IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH, SWORDSMANSHIP CAN'T BE GRANTED#

'Inspect' Sylas said while looking at Ulrick with some concern.

"Wow, you always were talented with the sword, and father raised you with all his might for you to be The Sword of the Morning, you were so young when you became known as equal as Ser Barristan Selmy, a legendary knight, now it makes sense, so, everyone is born with different talents…" Ulrick said while thinking about himself being untalented.

"Not really," Sylas muttered. "I'm good at archery, I haven't met someone with talent in archery yet, but I'm really good at it, so, the ceiling is only where you stop, this talent makes you go faster and reach fake ceilings easier." He said with a soft smile.

"Many thanks for this gift, Lord Sylas," Ulrick said while kneeling with his face looking at the ground.

"Rise, we are equals, I don't want my… uncle? kneeling." Sylas was a bit confused since Ulrick was older by ten years or so, but he looked young.

"Let it be uncle." He said while standing up with a smile.

"Now, uncle, I'll help you with money and some ideas to develop your lands, also, since you now have an easier time with administration, you'll be able to come up with new ideas by yourself, remember, not everything I say is right, my knowledge is limited, so if something sounds far fetched, tell me, and I'll see if I'm in the wrong," Sylas said with a smile on his face.

After a few minutes of talks, Sylas left Ulrck's room with Arthur, the two of them with a smile on their faces.
