Spell Chant:

let all waters freeze, harden with great ease."

Description: Cools the liquid bodies upon contact, and drops the temperature to the freezing point of the liquid bodies rapidly. When the liquid bodies are in the process of freezing, a status effect will be forced on all that is in contact with the liquid bodies. 

Effect: Cryogenic sleep

The metabolism is reduced to the lowest possible level and possibly forces hibernation, even if the individual isn't ready or capable of hibernation.

Ken reread the spell's Description and status effect with a little doubt about what he was reading. 'Cryogenic sleep, how good is it against a beast?' he mentally asked and right below the spell an answer appeared.

As for the Horror Beast GrimDark, it would make it sluggish and airheaded.

A simple but informative answer, enough to tell Ken that the beast will be easy prey if he plays his cards correctly. A little dangerous if he fails to play his cards but still not too dangerous that it would endanger his life or cause any injuries.

Ken glanced at Tian Meiying, who was standing beside a tree very close to the pond. The tree perfectly blocked the beast's sight of Tian Meiying, making her spot a really good one.

While Ken was... well, out in the open, the beast had still not noticed him, so it was fine.

"By the breath of winter and the frost of ancient times," Ken began his chant, and a magic circle started to form in front of him that gave an icy feeling.

"I call upon the freezing winds to heed my rhymes. Let the warmth be banished, let the waters still,"

The beast snapped its head towards Ken. "KKEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!" It let out a howling screech that made the winds rush out at Ken, but that didn't do shit.

"Glacial Embrace, unleash your icy chill. By my will and by this spell," Ken continued his chant, but then system notifications rapidly popped up.

[You have been inflicted with a temporary curse: Slow]

[You have been inflicted with a temporary curse: Emptiness]

[You have been inflicted with a temporary curse: Jealousy]

[You have been inflicted with a temporary curse: madness]

[You have been inflicted with a temporary curse: Suffacate]

[You have been inflicted...] 

The curse kept on coming and it kept on stacking, and Ken's movement visibly came to a halt but then. 

[Title Anomaly has acted] 

[Title The Strongest Player has acted] 

[All temporary curses have been dismissed] 

Title are just there to give a few effects. They are a form of position, a commoner can't sway a king, and the title 'The Strongest Player' is equivalent to the position of king. While the Title Anomaly... well, it's the anomaly.

In simple, the Title holds power. It's just that the game doesn't tell, but again Ken isn't a part of the game or the blessed ones but his title The Strongest Player makes him a part of the game and the game alone.

"Let all waters freeze, harden with great ease." Ken chanted the final verse of the spell.

"KKEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!"

Ugh... why does it have to let out that horrific screech every time!? My ears hurt.

I glared at the beast, but then my dress glowed lightly. "...Curses?" I muttered as I felt my dress negate a dark force. And again, my dress glowed and kept on glowing.

This is bad. A horror beast is proficient in dark arts, and this one is good with curses. I quickly peeked at Ken, the proclaimed strongest player, and gritted my teeth. He doesn't have anything to negate the curses. If he doesn't manage to cast whatever spell he is chanting, I might have to risk it...

Come on, I need to become a high human today... I stared daggers at Ken, who was standing still. My hope of him finishing his chant and unleashing a spell was getting pitiful now.

I glanced at the green pond with trepidation. I do know how to swim, but not to the point that I can fight at my fullest or even half my power in the water. In addition to that, I have nothing that can help me with the poison... If I go back to the city, then Jun will definitely rush here and kill the beast.

This is bad. I stared at Ken, hoping he would be able to at least finish his chant, and it turned out I didn't have to worry.

I saw his mouth move, followed by the spell circle glowing brightly. I felt an icy sensation as I laid my eyes on the spell circle that crumbled to form a small white-blue ball that flew down to the pond at a slow speed.

I looked on dumbfounded. I was expecting some grand spell like that Tempest spell... not a little ball that could fit in my palm.

But it looks like the beast thought differently, as it quickly backed off. The beast, which only had its head peeking out of the water, was now desperately trying to leave the pond. But the pond was big, massive actually. It was 2 kilometers wide, but the beast was in the center, so it only needed to cover a distance of 1 kilometer.

I looked on confused, but when I shifted my attention to the small white-blue ball, a chill ran down my spine, my body feeling very cold. I understood why the beast was running now... if it was hit by that, it would die... but with the trajectory and speed of the small white-blue ball, I didn't think it would even be close to the beast or even reach the beast at all.

But I was proven so wrong...

The small white-blue ball touched the pond water that was green from the poison, and instantly the pond started to form ice. In a matter of seconds, the pond was frozen, the beast having its body from below its jaw inside the ice pond.

I widened my eyes and immediately rushed, seeing the chance to strike down the beast. I adjusted my speed according to the slipperiness of the ice and rushed in, but...

The ice around the beast started to crack.

Rattle!

Crackling!!

BAM!! SHATTER!!! 

The ice around the beast shattered like glass, the broken ice flying everywhere. I stabbed my sword down and dragged it with me, slowing myself down.

The beast got out of the ice and stood up, its towering figure more than 50 meters tall. 

I gritted my teeth and slashed at its leg, making it topple a bit. It bent down and wobbled its head hanging, and then... Ken was above it, 

Fuck... I forgot about him...

---Ken Pov---

I smiled as I saw Tian Meiying rush in, this situation was pretty good. My status effect was still present, I only had 4 minutes... 3 minutes now but that was more than enough. I had barely any mana left but I didn't need to use it to deal with the beast now.

I bolted down the hill and using my Quick step got on the frozen pond without much effort or sound. I started to lower my posture and skate on the ice, I was wearing boots making it a little hard but still manageable. 

I moved at my own pace, I was close to the beast so I had the advantage but better to let Tian Meiying reach the beast first, she couldn't strike it down right away so this was pretty good for me. 

The beast broke out of the ice and towered over, Tian Meiying narrowly missing an opportunity to strike its head. She slashed at its legs making it wobble and tumble, its body bent down with its head hanging, likely becoming airheaded from the Cryogenic sleep. 

I tensed my legs and also enhanced them just for good measure and leaped with all my strength, reaching an altitude of more the 60 meters, a good height for an execution. I also had positioned myself perfectly so this will be a smooth execution.

I enhanced my sword and brought my sword down, matching my fall. 

And it was a clean cut. 

The head of the beast was separated from its body. 

I landed on the ice pond and used quick steps to get away from the falling body. 

It was over... the first phase of the event was over. 

I sheathed my sword and glanced at Tian Meiying, her eyes closed in meditation as she climbed the ranks to a High Human. I sensed her power rising, her complexion fairer, her once cute, noble, and innocent features maturing. Her E-cup boobs were now slightly larger, the dress that once snugly fit now was a little small for her, particularly for her boobs. Her hip had widened, partially her ass appeared rounder and plume now, and her dress failed her here as well, as it framed her curves.
