Chapter 13: War Begin

The private venue was abuzz with anticipation. The cream of the city's elite was present, awaiting the high-stakes competition that would determine the rightful owner of the coveted piece of land. Four pillars of business were represented: Red Phoenix, Blue Dragon, Black Lion, and Yellow Tiger.

Leading Blue Dragon was its charismatic Chairman Wang Zhen, and representing them in the competition was his equally impressive son, Wang Lei. Black Lion's dominating presence was felt through Chairman Zhao Gang, with his ambitious son Zhao Ming stepping up to represent the conglomerate. The Yellow Tiger group, a force to be reckoned with, was chaired by Chairman Liu Feng, but the most surprising twist was their representative: Lan Xi, the delicate beauty who had captured Li Yang's heart.

The atmosphere grew tense as Li Yang locked eyes with Lan Xi. An array of emotions played across their faces - surprise, confusion, fear, and a hint of sadness. How could he, in his wildest dreams, have imagined competing against the one he cherished? The challenge had just become deeply personal.

Zhao Gang of Black Lion, with his booming voice and a mocking tone, broke the heavy silence. "Has the Red Phoenix Group run out of talent? Ever since your father's demise, Red Phoenix," he sneered, addressing Red Phoenix directly, "you've let a mere outsider represent your legacy. Perhaps you've grown too rich for your own good?"

Without missing a beat, Red Phoenix retorted, "Let's see who has the last laugh, shall we?"

With all representatives present, the competition's host took center stage to announce the rules. There would be three rounds: Dice, Roulette, and Show Hand Poker. The conglomerate that claimed victory in at least two of these would win the prized land.
