I have a dream / Side hustle

After the sudden call from Hikita, I walked near the entrance of the house so I can peacefully talk to her without embarrassing myself in front of Antony

"Where are you? It's 5 p.m. have you eaten anything?" She asked me in an angry tone

"I'm in a friend's house, I ate there so everything is alright, so you don't have to worry about me"

"Then that's fine, I just need you to return home at 7 p.m. oh! And one thing before you hung up, Yosuke told me that tomorrow you will attend a school trip in the mountains so don't worry too much about homework"

"Okay! Thanks for letting me know" I said as I hung up the phone

I then returned to the table and quickly finished my food, while I was eating Antony washed the dishes, once I finished too I handed him my dish

"Can you go to Ada's room and bring her plate here?"

Antony kindly asked me, so I did as he said, I once again went and knocked on the door to Ada's room

"Hey, Ada-san can I come in?" I asked

She permitted me to enter, she was still studying, but at least she had finished the food, I silently picked up the plate and before I left I decided to ask her about that book before

"What was the one book that you threw away when I first came in?"

Ada looked anxious when I asked her that

"Y-You saw that huh?"

She asked as she got up from her chair, I can't say I wasn't afraid of what was about to happen to me, Ada slowly started walking up to me

"Since you saw that there is no use hiding it... just promise me that you will not tell this to anyone"

She whispered in my ear, I didn't know how to react so I simply remained silent while she went to pick up the mysterious book, she then handed it to me without saying anything

This book wrote "The Republic" it was a book that an ancient Greek politician had written, I assume this book was about politics

"Hahaha! Don't tell me you got scared? Did you expect something else to happen? I have more books like that but this is the one I started recently" She mocked me while laughing before she started to talk to me with a somewhat embarrassing voice

"So... you like politics?" I asked confused as I read the description of the book she gave me

"Are you stupid? I don't simply 'like' politics! I want to become a politician when I graduate" She told with a slightly mad voice

To be honest, I would have reacted the same way if I told someone a secret of mine and responded like that

"Oh! That's great but I don't see any reason to hide it"

"I hide it because it is embarrassing! If I fail then everyone is going to humiliate me, can't you empathize with my situation? I mean if my plan to become a politician fails then I will probably become a lawyer but I still want to succeed as a politician"

I was a bit surprised about what Ada said, empathize with what? Giving up on my dream?

"I don't get what you are saying, I understand that your dream is to become a politician but I don't understand why you want to hide from others, or why you have a second lesser goal"

Ada looked at me with a shocked face, I suppose I said something bothering about her

"As I told you earlier I fear my friends' reaction to my failure and also the second goal exists if I actually fail, it's more like a cover-up to my failure, you must have a second plan like that!" She said again, implying that I have a plan B

"Well plan A is to become a pharmaceutical scientist because creating and discovering ways to heal the human body always fascinated me and plan B is don't mess up plan A"

Ada's expression became blank for a second before laughing

"That's your dream? Make medical drugs to cure people?" She said as she proceeded to laugh once again

"Why the hell are you laughing? Is your dream any better than mine?"

For a moment Ada stopped laughing and asked me a sudden question

"Have you seen a woman becoming a prime minister? Or even a minister of some kind? Not really because we women here in Japan have a really hard time ranking high like the men, because that's how it is here, women are still looked at as lesser even if they try to ignore it, and for me as an African woman, society has told me not to aim high, but I want to change that with my dream, my dream is to become the prime minister of Japan, shattering the stereotypical thought any Japanese girl has and also making it clear to all "foreigners" that they can become something bigger in Japan or in whatever country they are if they try hard enough"

Ada's words were charming, I never thought about aiming so high in my life, it honestly sounded like those speeches leaders or role models gave to inspire and motivate their people, and now that I think about it Ada's dream is something way out of my reach

"I know it sounds impossible but I really want to give it a shot, because I know it can succeed, I just need luck and hard work" Ada said with a red face, it was her first time saying this to anybody after all, but why me?

"I can see why you laughed before, and I can clearly tell that your dream is greater and harder than mine" I said before exiting her room

After giving the plate to Antony I decided it was time to leave, Antony probably wants to sleep and Ada is doing homework, oh right I forgot to tell her about the trip! Well... I have my shoes on now, plus I don't want to spoil the surprise

Shortly after I walked up to the gym and took my bike back home, when I returned to the house Hikita wasn't there but she left a note back

<I 7 9 have some extra work to do, I will not be back until P.M but still want you do something for me, at go this location XXX-XXX meet there after>

This location isn't very far from ours but it's a bit weird that she didn't tell me whose house is this or what I will be doing there but I assume it's not dangerous or anything, for now, I went inside the room and started doing my homework

If I do tomorrows homework then I will be free for the whole day tomorrow so why not?

It didn't take me too long to finish but by studying kanji I spent one and a half hours studying, at least now I can understand some basic words, and before I knew it the alarm I set started to ring

6:45 P.M

I quickly got up and dressed normally, this whole time I was in my in-house clothes, those clothes are only for home so I minimize the changes of clothes I have, once I dressed up I took my bike and headed at the location Hikita gave me

When I arrived at the neighborhood I could tell that this is where most of the rich people live since I saw very big houses that resembled villas, also most of the houses had very expensive car models, having a car in Japan is a privilege itself but having an expensive symbolizes your wealth

So now I'm left with one question, did Hikita send me to the wrong house? I turned off my bike and was about to call my aunt but before I could do that I saw Inei walk up to me

"Oi Iriasu-kun! Did you come to help?" He asked, Inei was still in his school uniform

"What I don't know what I'm supposed to help with but my aunt told me to come here, this is this house right?" I said as I showed him the location and pointing a house at the same time

"Yeah, that's my house! Come in and father will explain all of the details to you" Inei said as he opened the house gate

I locked my bike and entered with him, He then took some keys out of his pocket and unlocked the house

"Father! Iriasu-kun is here!" He yelled as he took off his shoes, I took off mine too

"Oh, there you are! It's nice having you here" Yosuke said as he bowed his head

"Oh no! It's my pleasure inviting me here!" I said as I bowed

"I'm going to relax for now so can you please open up the water heater so I can take a shower?" Inei asked his dad as he probably went to his room that was upstairs

"Go on and sit in the living room as I go and do my work"

He didn't tell me where it was but it was fairly obvious

It was a large room with a large box-like shaped couch that surrounded a big TV, after sitting on this enormous but comfy couch Yosuke arrived with candy in his hand

"I picked orange since this is the most loved flavor" He said as he gave me the candy

"I like lemon more but orange is fine too" I said as I unwrapped the candy, I then placed it in my mouth

"The reason I called you here was to help set up my daughter's PC, I'm not very good at stuff like that and Inei doesn't have so much free time so I figured that you can help, you don't have school tomorrow so you won't have to worry about tomorrow" Yosuke said as he relaxed on the couch

So it's about Yua again? For some reason, I can't avoid this girl no matter how hard I try

"I'm sure I can help but how did you know that I have some interest in computers? Did Hikita-chan told you about me?"

"She was indeed the one that informed me about you, but she also learned it from your father, you see they sometimes call each other to ensure you live a great life here" Yosuke told me with a bright smile, a thought then came up to my mind

"Now that you mentioned my dad I remembered that he doesn't have work since it's probably early there, so how about we give him a little call so you can talk with your friend?"

I asked Yosuke as I pulled my phone out of my pocket, he seemed very positive about my idea so he quickly gave me the Wi-fi password and I called my father using the internet, I was afraid that he may have been asleep but he surely picked it up

"Good morning from Biol Iriasu! It was about time you called your old man!" He said as he laughed

"Wait is it morning there?"

"Yea 2 A.M! If I remember correctly it is about 7 P.M there right?" He asked me and he was indeed correct

2 A.M is not morning what the hell is he doing awake at that time?

"By the way, where are you? This doesn't look like Hikita's house?" He asked as he looked at the furniture at the back

"Domic you lazy fucker what are you doing?" Yosuke said as he tried to put his face on the camera

When my father saw him he reacted very exciting

"Josuke! How long has it been brother?"

"At least ten years brother, at least ten..." Yosuke replied with a smile on his face

"I will give you the phone, make sure you have a nice talk with my dad as I fix Yua's pc" I told Yosuke as I handed him my phone

He nodded and then I was on my way to Yua's room

Once I got to the first floor I saw 5 doors, they were all closed so I didn't know where to go, I knocked at the first door from my left and it turned out it was Inei's room

"Yua's room? Her room is the furthest one"

Inei told me when I asked him about Yua's room, so I mustered up my courage to walk inside this demon's room

I knocked and I heard Yua talking with a sweet voice

"Come in!"

I opened her door and her face turned from a somewhat happy to a disappointed face

"Yeah, I know! I'm not happy about this either but my aunt asked me to do this so here we are"

I told her before letting her talk, I hope I don't suffer too much...
