Ultra Hidden Boss

The monster quickly ran at Ezra and shot a beam of water out of one of its hands. This attack was so fast that it pierced and went straight through Ezra's left arm which meant he had to use his sword one handed.

The enemy came into his attack range, and Ezra started to attack with his sword. The lack of power was made up with by the burn effect activating every attack due to his boosted attack. However, unlike the previous enemies that were wood element based, this enemy seemed to be of the water element which meant the fire attacks were actually making the dealt damage less than it should have been doing.

The monster shot more beams of water through both of Ezra's legs and caused them to be unusable. He could tell that there was nothing he could do to defeat the enemy in front of him, but he continued to attack even while forced to his knees.

The monster seemed to enjoy tormenting Ezra, but it seemed to get bored after a while as it could tell that his will was not broke and did not seem to be reaching that state of mind any time soon.

It shot a last beam of water at his head this time, and right as it penetrated his head, something changed. A large flash of light appeared, and Ezra felt himself being dragged by an unknown force towards his enemy. Likewise, it seemed the monster was being dragged as well, and when they collided, Ezra's vision went dark for a second before it returned and he was alone in the room, with no traces of the monster that was about to kill him. However, there was also no trace of his sword or his chest plate which he was excited to use in the real world.

His body had been restored back to a healthy state and both his arms and legs worked like normal. He decided to check his status to see what happened, as he assumed it was caused by his one time skill.

"What is this? My stats have reset and now I've got an S rank skill? What the hell is a Cipactli and why can I transform into one? I guess an S rank skill means this whole ordeal was worth it, although not getting a separate reward for technically defeating a boss is pretty lame. I may as well test my new skill."

'Transformation.' Ezra thought of his skill's name and his body quickly became covered in scales, with the head of a crocodile and mouths scattered across its body.

"This is insane, I can transform into the monster that almost killed me, and I can even get stronger by eating monsters rather than killing multiple to level up! This is the sort of skill that will take me to the top of the world of hunters. Even if I don't manage to get some amazing skills from the Skill Boxes in the Hunter Shop, I should still be able to do well."

Ezra transformed back into his human form and decided it would be best for him to leave the tutorial dungeon as he had almost died against the boss who he had now seemed to have absorbed, and he was unsure if he would be able to survive against something that could potentially be even more deadly, especially as he didn't have a life-saving skill anymore.

He walked towards the exit portal to return to the regular world, and he felt himself being transported for only a second before he appeared in his classroom again. There was nobody there as the school day had ended, which was helpful as he was about to receive his tutorial completion rewards.

"No way, this is crazy! Fifty thousand points from the start is amazing, let alone a sub-space ring and even an ultra level skill box! I should wait until I get home to open it, and first thing tomorrow I'll register as a hunter."

As the skill box was quite large and was in his hands, he decided to put on his sub-space ring and put the skill box inside it.

Ezra walked out of his school, but before he left he handed in a letter to the main office saying that he was leaving school. This was a common occurrence with people becoming hunters, and nobody questioned it too much.

He made his way back home as quick as he possibly could until he arrived home. His parents were on holiday, and he had no siblings which meant he would be able to open his skill box in peace.

He sat down at his table in his room and removed the skill box from his sub-space and placed it on his table. It was a large cube that had four glowing lines on a metallic rainbow material on each side that all joined up with one another.

Ezra was excited as he knew he would be receiving another S rank skill, as the ultra level skill boxes always contained one and he knew it would be a long time until he would be able to get another as they cost one million points each.

"Open skill box."

As Ezra said this, a bright light started to glow, and a screen appeared in front of him.

'System Shop Open.' Ezra thought about opening the system shop that every hunter had and navigated his way to the Skill Gacha section past the items and pets tabs.

Five dull grey skill boxes appeared in front of Ezra, nowhere near as dazzling as the Ultra Level one he had opened previously.

"Open all five skill boxes at once."

Smoke (E): Produce smoke from your body. Amount producible and thickness of smoke increases per level up.

Intimidate (E): Instil fear in anyone effected by this skill. Amount of fear increases per level up.

Eagle Eye (F): Increases distance you can see as well as quality of eyesight. Distance and quality increase per level up.

Swordsmanship (E): Increases proficiency of swordsmanship. Proficiency increases per level up.

Masquerade (E): Able to change your face. Realism and believability as well as transformation time increases per level up.

Looking at the skills he had gained, Ezra had a few ideas of what to combine and when he was done he was pleased with the results.

Disappearing Slash (B): Disappear into a cloud of smoke before quickly reappearing behind your enemy. When you reappear, a blade made from condensed smoke will shoot forward towards your target. Speed of reappearance and damage from smoke blade increase per level up.

Fearful Disguise (C): Able to create an illusion that causes enemies to view you as their greatest fear. This will cause a temporary drop in their stats as well as temporary paralysis. Stats drop and paralysis time increase per level up.

"A B rank skill and a C rank skill by fusing together only E rank skills! This is crazy, I can definitely become one of the strongest with this cheat-like skill! I should sleep so I can be well rested for registering as a hunter tomorrow."
