He tossed the documents aside, walked over with a smile and sat down on the sofa beside her, letting her head rest on his thigh while his hands gently massaged her temples.

"Did you sleep the whole day?"

Her gaze was a bit dazed as she pondered the words Gong Heng had just spoken.

But she was unfamiliar with the matters of the officialdom and didn't understand the implications of his brief words. However, the tone he used was very calm and detached, as if he was not under any pressure at all.

It was the last phrase "go arrange it" that held a deep meaning. Not grasping the intricacies, she only sensed a hint of danger in it.

She got up from his legs, her sleepy eyes glancing at the clock on the wall. It was nearly one o'clock in the morning. "Brother, did you just get back? Have you been busy all day? Are you tired?"

"The mayor just became a vegetable. There are many things to deal with. It will be very busy for a while, but once I become the mayor, I won't be this busy."
