Friends In Hatred And In Love

In the wake of a devastating war that claimed the lives of half the world's population, a fragile peace was sought among the three distinct creatures that inhabited the realm. To cement this fragile peace, a sanctuary was envisioned—a place where all three species could coexist without the looming threat of annihilation. However, a particular race held firm to their kind, reluctant to yield even a fraction of their population, creating an unsettling dilemma: the shortage of humans. As time elapsed, the other creatures perceived this shortage of human inhabitants as a display of human superiority, a stance that escalated tensions. Before matters spiraled further into chaos, an unexpected figure intervened—none other than the devil himself. Paradoxically, the architect of the peace initiative, the devil shouldered the responsibility of integrating humans into this shared sanctuary. But his methods were far from benevolent; he sought out those humans who had no other viable choices, manipulating circumstances to ensure their inclusion. His first target in this orchestrated plan was Emily. Emily, the central figure in this narrative, bore a harrowing past, marked by unfathomable acts—brutally murdering her biological father and boyfriend. Granted a second chance at life, she aimed to leave her haunting past behind, yet the weight of her history proved inescapable. However, amidst this shadowed past, a glimmer of hope emerged; perhaps, someone might stand alongside her to confront the haunting echoes of her actions. As the devil orchestrated his designs to integrate humans into this fragile alliance, Emily stood as a focal point in his intricate plans. Her story encapsulated the struggle for redemption, the perennial conflict between one's past and the pursuit of a new beginning. Her journey mirrored the perennial battle with personal demons, a quest for absolution in the face of unforgiving memories. The devil's intervention, while shrouded in sinister intentions, presented an opportunity for Emily. Her path toward reconciliation and the pursuit of a new life unfolded amid the backdrop of a world grappling with the fragile threads of a newfound peace, juxtaposed against the shadows of a tumultuous past. Emily's journey toward redemption, entwined with the devil's machinations, marked a pivotal chapter in the delicate equilibrium between races and the profound yearning for a harmonious coexistence. ------------- A glimpse of her life: Emily: Why are you here? Beel: To bring you food! Emily: Didn't that girl offer to buy you expensive food? Beel: Yeah but eating with you is better, everything tastes good, especially the food you make me Emily (while smiling): What should we make? Beel: Fried chicken and rice! Emily: Okay, get the ingredients, I will see the kitchen Beel: Okay, don't start without me, I want to help! (he ran away while she put her hand on her beating chest and wondered if she was ready to move on)

Mammon quickly caught Raiin and wondered what happened to her, was he...was he at fault for what happened?

"What do I do now?" Mammon had Raiin in his arms and decided to take her to her hospital room because he didn't where else to take her, he couldn't take her to his room because it was INAPPROPRIATE, and he was a gentleman who knew not to take girls into his personal space when they haven't known each other for more than a month.

After that short explanation, let's jump to the hospital's room, where Miko was staying, unaware of the disturbance she was about to have in 3…2….1

An unattractive demon entered with her lovely roommate who she haven't seen in ages, oh how happy she was that the person who put her in this state was back.

"Why do you look like a stone?" Mammon said as he looked at her dead fish face, which had absolutely no other emotion other than pure disgust and a hint of annoyance, how he knew? He was good at reading people's faces (someone please write this in notes or somewhere so I don't forget)

"None of your business, why is she wet? Were you trying to drown her?" Miko asked with a sick smile and started laughing on her own, like a dead dolphin, as if she had said something very funny.

"What is wrong with you? Were you choking just now? What was that sound?" Mammon asked, very confused about what just happened.

Miko rolled her eyes at how boring the guy turned out to be and told him to leave. He looked at the unconscious Raiin in his arms, that had a weird smile that made his spine shiver, it made him feel unsafe, it actually made him want to drop her or at least put her on the bed but he couldn't, she was wet and that would wet the bed, which would make her uncomfortable so he had to have her change her clothes, but how?

He looked up from Raiin for a second, to see Miko again, reading her manga comfortably with no one bothering her, which automatically meant to him that she was his key to leaving from here, so with a glint in his eyes, he approached the naïve Miko and stood by her, with the dripping wet Raiin still in his arms.

"Ew, stay away with your wet dead body." Miko said and moved her precious manga away from them.

"You like those books?" Mammon tried to open a conversation, in the worst way possible because he wasn't used to talking to other people.

"No, I just like torturing myself by reading something I don't like." Miko said sarcastically with a beautiful smile, then dropped it as soon as she finished her sentence. She didn't want to talk for longer than she needed to, she could use her voice for so much more, like not talking.

"Oh, you are a masochist?" Mammon asked, half serious and half joking.

"Yes, now stay away before I tell you to hit me." Miko wasn't in the mood to keep up with him or clear any misunderstanding, she could care less about what he thought about her.

"I don't mind, but can I ask you for something?" Mammon went straight to the point because he realized he wouldn't be able to carry on with Raiin in his arms and a person who wasn't interested in having a conversation.

"No, you can't." Miko said and got up from her bed, to get away from them.

"Please." Mammon tried to use his puppy eyes, it would have worked on Raiin but not on Miko.

"Wow, I am so moved." She said with a stone-cold face.

"What would it take for you to do it?" Mammon was ready to give up anything, not really, to get Raiin off of his arms, he was too tired to keep carrying her and too nice to put her down wherever.

"Depends on what you want." Miko was ready to name her price for whatever Mammon was asking for. He should have done this first, it would have made things move quicker because the only language she talked about was being paid for anything she does, be it with money or just favors.

That's how she was raised, if you want something, you have to give something, and vice versa, that's how the world worked and she abided by its rules.

"I want you to change her clothes and put her on the bed." Mammon said and expected Miko to just do it, and not ask for anything but that was not the type of girl Miko was, even if it was for the simplest thing, she would expect something in return, you may call a bad quality but for her, it was a great one.

"Hmm, how about a land?" Miko got was too excited and asked for land, that would be worth more than everything anyone spent on her, ever since she was alive.

"Huh? Like a piece of land? Space?" Mammon was so shocked that he almost dropped Raiin, he wishes he did drop her but that was another discussion.

"Exactly." Miko said with a smirk, fully expecting a no and that's what she got, actually, he even called her crazy for asking for something like that, then walked out. She shrugged after he left and got back to her bed, with her book in her hands.

He didn't walk for that long before he stopped and started considering it; he had many lands, that he got as Lucifer's brother and the second oldest, he did nothing with them, they just existed for him to use in a future that would probably never come, but those lands were worth a lot and he would occasionally sell some of them when Lucifer was away because if he knew he sold them, Lucifer would kill him and he wasn't ready for that.

But still, what if he let him sell them one day? That would mean he was going to lose a lot of money, but that was not sure money but Raiin's money was sure, if he was on good terms with her, he can borrow as much as he wanted from her.

If he helped her this time and he even made her close to Miko, a person she wanted to be friends with for so long but didn't know how to, with the number of times Raiin talked about how she wanted to be close to Miko, he figured that if he gave Miko the land and they got closer, Raiin would like him more.

What should he do?
