Sleepover

After getting jumped scared by Kasumi, it put a stop to Ayame and Anna's conversation, but it had pretty much finished.

*Huff* *Huff* "Made it just in time." Sweat dripped down Kasumi's face which came as a surprise to Ayame.

"How far did you run?" Because Kasumi was a kitsune, a quick trip to a store shouldn't have tired her out, so Ayame thought she ran across the entire city.

"Just down… the road." Kasumi sluggishly walked over to the dining table placing the items she brought on them.

"Sounds like you ran a marathon." Anna became curious about Kasumi's strength seeing her in such a state.

"I looked at the closing time and it turned out they were about to close so I might have sprinted." Kasumi explained why which was understandable, but felt over the top for them just to play video games.

"Oh damn well thank you, guess we can't really complain." Ayame realised there was no reason to question it since in the end, they got the console and Kasumi was fine.

"Alright, let's set this up." Kasumi caught her breath and started to unbox the console.

"Which one did you get?" Ayame didn't know too much, but she knew there were a lot of online wars about it.

"I got the XS6, short for Xanostation 6." Kasumi as she spoke pulled out a matte black console with green accents. She then brought it over to the TV alongside a bundle of cords.

"Did you need a hand?" Anna wonder if Kasumi needed help since it can be rather awkward plugging in all the cords while keeping it neat.

"I should be fine… Although Ayame, is Anna… you know?" Kasumi wasn't sure if Anna was a Kitsune or not so she didn't want to use any magic with her around.

"Oh yes she is a kitsune, but her traits haven't come through so she doesn't have any magical power." Ayame forgot to disclose that they are all Kitsune, so there was no reason to hide their traits.

"Yeahhhh, hopefully soon though since it also happened to my parents." Anna was a little embarrassed, but there was nothing she could do about it.

"One day it will randomly appear, but make sure you go to your parents right away since you will have to learn to use magic right then and there." Ayame remembered when her traits first appeared and she almost destroyed her room because she had no idea how to handle magic.

It was a simple process, but if left unattended many Kitsune can kill themselves only moments after maturing because they unconsciously borrow too much from the gods.

With that said, Ayame let her fox traits free feeling quite relieved having stayed in human form for a few days.

Kasumi also revealed hers, making Anna look in awe as Kasumi's fox traits looked very elegant.

"Wow… I don't know what word to use, but your fur is beautiful Kasumi." Anna didn't have a way to verbalise exactly what she thought of Kasumi's traits, but beautiful was the closest thing she could think of.

"Haha thank you, I put in a lot of effort in taking care of my fur." Kasumi was happy to hear such praise as she never got it from her father and with her being isolated there was no one to show off to.

"She takes like 45 minutes in the shower with almost half of it washing her tail and ears." Ayame could attest to Kasumi's claim as she spends an abnormal amount of time showering and only found out a couple of days ago why.

"Damn, looks like I need to invest in some hair products." Anna was inspired to have good-looking fur like Kasumi, so she already planned in her head what to do.

"All part of the process." While speaking Kasumi reached down behind the TV and using simple wind magic, She was able to plug in the cords in the extra socket. She also used the wind to guide the cord to the back of the console. Kasumi quickly bent down putting her hand through the TV stand shelf and reaching for the cord that she guided through a small hole with magic. .

Plugging in the last cord, everything supposedly should be ready. Pressing the button on the front of the console, it booted up which was a great sign. Quickly grabbing a game from the bag, she inserted the disk and returned to the couch.

Pulling out 3 controllers, Kasumi passed them out and changed the input on the TV.

"We should all be ready to go." Kasumi sat at the end of the couch and Ayame moved from the single-seat, sitting in between Anna and Kasumi.

Anna seeing this nudged her elbow into Ayame while smirking and raising her eyebrows. Ayame sighed, trying to ignore Anna's obvious attempt at provoking her.

Kasumi navigated the menus and signed into her account.

"Alright Ayame, how familiar are you with the controller?" Kasumi knew that Ayame wasn't familiar with games since in her room there was nothing of the sort.

"I think so?" Ayame had seen them be used before, so she didn't think it would be too hard.

"I'll teach you how to play before we begin anyway." Kasumi knew it would end in disaster, so she opened up the game and quickly entered practice mode. Once loaded, Kasumi leaned in close so she could help Ayame get a grasp of the controls.

However, Ayame wasn't able to concentrate as Kasumi's chest was pushing up against her. If it wasn't for the conversation with Anna before, Ayame wouldn't have paid too much attention, but now everything seems abundantly obvious to be some kind of move against her.

"So you just hold done the trigger and… Ayame are you listening? Also, why is your face so red." Kasumi was able to pick up on Ayame's rather strange behaviour, confused as to why since it wasn't rare for them to get close like this.

"Pfft." Anna couldn't hold in her laughter, she knew exactly why Ayame was acting in such a way.

"S-sorry, I'm just a little embarrassed since you are so close and Anna is here." Ayame quickly thought of a reason which seemed to work.

"Oh haha, I guess it is a bit odd." Kasumi didn't think it was too much of a bother, but Ayame wasn't particularly well versed in what is acceptable and what isn't.

Leaning a little further away, helped Ayame concentrate and finally get a grip on the controls.

"Now let's begin." Kasumi started an actual game, and as a surprise to no one, Ayame got really into it.

"DAMNIT! GET BACK HERE!" Ayame was practically jumping out of her seat while Anna and Kasmui giggled to themselves.

Eventually, the first round came to an end and Ayame leaned back taking a deep breath. It felt like she hadn't breathed the whole time making her feel exhausted.

"You guys play games all the time?" Ayame couldn't see herself playing for any longer than an hr as the tense atmosphere felt very suffocating.

"Sure do, eventually you won't be so jumpy, but honestly it was more fun watching you than playing." Kasumi smiled as for most of the game she was staring at Ayame than actually playing.

"I can say the same, you were very adorable." Anna also was too busy watching Ayame not even concentrating on the game.

"Wait and you still beat me…." Ayame didn't care that they were watching her, but what bothered her more was the fact that she still lost when they weren't paying attention.

"Oh… well you are new so I'm sure after a couple more tries you will win." Kasumi saw the devastation on Ayame's face from being beaten with minuscule effort.

"Again then!" Ayame suddenly got a spurt of confidence from hearing she might beat them next time. So without wasting any time, they continued to play a few more rounds. However, those few rounds turned into a dozen and before they knew it was getting late.

"AHHHHH! Why can I never win!?" Ayame fell to the floor utterly defeated from not being able to win a single game. She got close a couple of times, but no matter what she did she could never get ahead.

Partially due to Anna and Kasumi being cruel and finding Ayame's reaction too amusing, but maybe they had gone too far in teasing victory.

"Oh shit, I should probably get going." Anna looked at her phone, spotting the time was 10 pm. She stayed way longer than she should of, but it was worth it.

"You can stay here if you don't mind sleeping on the couch." Kasumi figured it would be dangerous to go out alone especially since Anna isn't able to protect herself.

"Hmmm, the shrine isn't too far, so I guess it should be fine." There was no particular reason Anna needed to be home, but it was more convenient for her.

"Is it okay with you Ayame?" Kasumi turned to the pouting Ayame who was glaring at whoever was talking.

"Hmph, sure." Ayame didn't mind, but she was still frustrated she hadn't been able to get a single win the entire time, so she wanted to keep going.

"With that said how about another round?" Anna knew Ayame wasn't going to let the grudge go, so since she decided to stay the night, they might as well keep going.

"Yes! This time I'll win!" Ayame once again was fired up to win.
