Song Taojie grew angry. He had not made a move earlier, feeling a bit ashamed, but surely he could not let Chen Kai take all the action again.

Though his martial arts skill was not great, and his injury not fully recovered, all this standing around was making him lose face.

It seemed as if he was just here for the spectacle, something that didn't match his character. Thus, he immediately took a large stride forward, planning to take on these people first.

If they really injured him again, he could then stop, which would be somewhat satisfying.

But, no sooner had he stepped forward than Chen Kai pulled him back by his hand.

Song Taojie looked at Chen Kai in disbelief.

"You're not stopping me from getting involved, are you?"

Chen Kai simply nodded solemnly, looking at him.

"I completely understand your feelings. Truthfully, if I were in your position, I too would feel a bit embarrassed."
