The Summers Residence was surrounded by reporters, and Purple Summers guessed that the school wouldn't be any quieter, so she took a leave of absence to rest at home.

Marcel Jefferson made a call specially to apologize to her.

"I didn't know she was Mrs. Simonson," Marcel Jefferson said in agitation. "I thought she was some rich man's wife from Kingsley. Who would've thought her husband is Christopher Simonson! It's ludicrous. How could such a huge misunderstanding arise! Mrs. Carter was clearly here to discuss a case; how did it turn into a family reunion?!"

"Have you been in contact with Mrs. Carter?" Purple Summers asked him.

Marcel Jefferson said, "She left immediately when the news broke out! Otherwise, she'd be surrounded by reporters at the hotel by now!"

"This incident was likely aimed at her." Purple Summers rubbed her temples with irritation. "She came quietly; the Clearwater reporters had no clue about her identity. It must have been leaked from Kingsley."
