Chapter 9: Surfer Dude

It was a Saturday and me and Nathan were playing Texas Hold'em in his living room. "Seriously, who taught you how to play this game? You are kicking my ass." Nathan said. I laughed, "My Dad and step mom, I've played this game since I was 13." I said. He shook his head and pushed the chips my way.

    "Ok, next round we go all in." I said. He nodded, "Agreed." He dealt our cards and we started the game. On the last round of betting we both went all in. I laid down my cards, It was a flush. He sighed, "I only have a pair of kings." 

    He put his cards down and I laughed and took all the chips. My phone started to ring, it was Morgan. 

        "Hello." I said. "Yo, where are you?" she asked. "Nathan's apartment." I said. "Cool, I'll be there in a minute." 

I was gonna ask why but she hung up on me. "She hung up on me." I said. Nathan raised his eyebrow, "Who did?" I put my phone down, "Morgan did, she's coming over here apparently. She hung up before I could ask why." 

He stood up and walked over to the fridge, "You wanna drink?" he asked. "Do you have any monsters?" I asked. "I'll bring you one," he said. He brought me my monster. I opened it and took a small drink, remembering how jittery I get when I chug them.

There was a knock on the door and I got up to get it while Nathan grabbed Phase 10. I opened the door and saw Morgan and J. Morgan was wearing her bright red bikini and J was wearing his red-orange swim trunks. "Hey guys." I said. "I have something to tell you, bro." Morgan said in an excited voice.

"Tell them to go away." Nathan said from his living room. I rolled my eyes and let them inside. "So, J and I were hanging out at the beach right and J pushed me in the water and I stood up and pushed him back. Then I ran and looked back at him. When I looked in front of me again, BAM! There he was. I ran into a dude, and he was fine as hell. He was holding a surfboard. He was tall, built and tan and his hair was so floofy. He looked down at me and smirked. I apologized and he was like 'It's cool.' Then walked away." 

"He was fine. How fine?" I asked. As soon as I said that I felt a pair of strong built arms hug me from behind. "Watch yourself, you have a boyfriend." Nathan said as he rested his head on my shoulder. I turned around in his arms, "Jealous much?" He rolled his eyes, "Behave yourself." He kissed my forehead and walked away.

"Awww, how cute." Amariah said. "I heard that!" Nathan yelled. "I wanted you to hear it!" she yelled back. "Leave Nathan alone, it's bad enough he has to deal with me." I said. "Yeah, we all know she's a pain in the ass." J said. I punched him in the chest, "Shut the hell up." I turned to Morgan, "Is that all you guys came here for, was to tell me about surfer dude?" She scoffed, "Surfer dude?" I nodded, "That's what I've decided to call him, now answer my question." She nodded, "Yeah," she turned to J "come on lets go." Then she and J left.

"They left, you can stop hiding Nathan." I said. He came over to me, "I wasn't hiding, I just was staying away from them." I rolled my eyes and he wrapped me in a hug, I laid my head on his chest, "I swear, if I could fall asleep during the day I would take a nap." "Did you not get much sleep last night?" he asked. "I'm an insomniac, I don't ever get enough sleep." I said. "I'm sorry." I sighed, "It's fine, I'm used to it. Lets play Phase 10." 

We played the game then he drove me home. When I got there he gave me a kiss on the head and said, "I'll see you later." Like usual, I watched him drive away on his beautiful black Harley Davidson. 

I walked into the house and pet Barley, my favorite dog in our house. When I got to my room I put in headphones and listened to Bella's Lullaby, then I grabbed a book and read for the rest of the day.
