The Entrance Exam Pt 2

"Why don't we get your brain juices flowing and start with the intelligence exam. I hope all of you ate a healthy meal this morning. Fun fact, it's been proven that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and should be the largest.

For those of you sitting on an isle seat when you receive the stack of tests please take one packet and pass it down. When you receive your test it is very important that you put your full name and age in the top left corner of the first sheet before you start answering the questions. Their are 100 multiple choice questions. Each question has 4 potential answers which means you'll have a 25% chance of getting it correct. You must get 80% of the questions correct to proceed to the strength test. How are we going to grade 600 tests so quickly? Easy, the tests are enchanted if you answer to many questions wrong it will automatically fail you and your name will fade from the stone tablets behind me."

Just then six gigantic stone slabs bolted up out of the platform. On these stone slabs were etched the names of every single participant. " whoever completes their test first will automatically have their names jump to the top of the far left slab. If somebody else completes the test with a better score than you, you will drop to the second position and they will take your spot as number one and that'll keep happening until we get the final score.

Normally, we would only have 200 slots, but since we started allowing 11 and 12-year-olds to take the entrance exam, we decided to increase that to 300. Half of you are guaranteed those 300 slots the other half Will have to wait until the next semester to try again. Are there any questions before we begin? Yes, young lady." he said, pointing to a girl in the front row.

" you said that 300 of us are guaranteed slots but what if over half of us fail this exam" ask the girl

" that would be unfortunate, but I suppose it could happen and we would have a very small first year class. Since there are no more questions you may begin."

Once he said that immediately names started vanishing from the stone tablets, signifying that they had failed the exam. "What's happening, dad?" Asked Vorick " how could they have failed the exam already? They just started."

" they most likely forgot to put their names on their test or put their names on the test just in the wrong spot. The enchantment saw this as a failure to follow directions and failed them immediately." Said the king.

"That's a bit harsh" said Mack as he watched the names disappear

" why is it harsh?" Ask Thomas "I don't want folks in my army that can't follow simple directions. Plus, this is an easy way to weed out individuals." by the time the names stopped disappearing an entire Stone slab was blank and slowly lowered into the floor as though It had never been there. This ment they had lost at least 100 participants.

" to those who couldn't manage to follow directions, please remain in your seats until the test is completed. Once the test is finished, you may meet your parents in the lobby and you are free to leave the campus." Said the headmaster as he shook his head.

It only took about a half an hour for the names to start disappearing again however, this time it wasn't as quick as before. It equaled out to about one name every 5 to 10 minutes. Kyle was starting to feel a bit anxious. He did the math in his head and figured out that each question was worth 1 point which ment that he could only miss 20 questions and still pass to the next test. What made him anxious was the fact that he was half way through and has missed 12 questions so far and still had fifty to answer yet. Kyle considered himself to be of intelligent stock, but these questions were on another level. He glanced at both Landon and Shawna to see if they were struggling like him but they seemed to be almost done already. He Instantly thought they were cheating somehow. He was a noble with all the best books available to him and they were but commoners. How could it be that they knew more then him? How could it be that they were doing better then him? Maybe he was just over thinking this. His anxiety increased when he answered the next question incorrectly. He was up to 13 incorrect answers. He could only miss 7 more. He answered the next 10 correctly but missed questions 62, 63, and 64. He started to sweat and the anxiety turned to fear. Fear of his fathers and grandfathers wrath if he failed. Would they disown him? Would they beat him to death? Would they do both? Lucky for him the next 15 questions were about the academy itself and he answered them all correctly. But he missed question 79. He could only miss 3 more. Questions 80-90 were math questions so he was able to answer them correctly but the last 10 questions were about the royal family and its history and he missed 97,98 and 99. He had to get this last question correct. He read the question and the fear of failure gripped his heart as tears started to stream down his face. He didn't know the answer. His life was over. He didn't know if he could show his face anymore. Why was he so scared? He hadn't been this scared since he was about 4 years old. He looked at the question and decided to guess. He marked the answer and waited for the obvious red letters to slowly spell out the word failed but to his utter shock green letters spelled out the word passed 80/100. He somehow answered that last question correctly. The weight of failure lifted from his shoulders and he glanced up at the tablets only to be disappointed to find that he was the last to finish and dead last rank. He looked at Landon and Shawna then up to the royal balcony where he saw the scary boy staring at him with a sinister smile on his face.

"What's the matter Kyle" asked Shawna with a smirk "you didn't make eye contact with the shadowlock earlier did you? You look like you've seen a ghost"

"He must have, look how frightened he looks. It's a wonder his pants are still dry" Landon chuckled

Kyle didn't answer them, instead he turned back around and looked forward. Terrified that if he glanced up at the boy again he would in fact wet himself out of fear.

Alex's little experiment worked, he was able to feed off the boys fear of failure. He had decided to use his skill on the boy who was obviously a noble and giving the girl and small boy a heard time. He just needed the kid to look at him in the eyes. The girl glanced up at him and his system informed him that an inspection skill was trying to be used. He figured it was the girl since she was looking right at him so he let her inspect him. He noticed her smirk and a few minutes later the kid looked right at him and he activated his skill and amplified his fear of failure and brought it to the four front of his mind. He didn't have to do anything else at this point, just let the fear do the job for him and he was rewarded. The girl glanced back up at him and did a tsk tsk motion with her hands, he smiled and winked at her.

Kyle's father, Tyler had been watching the whole interaction. He knew his son was a pompous little boy that thought he was better then everyone else just because he was the grandson of a noble. It was a bit refreshing to see him get put in his place by Alex and the other two kids that sat in the row behind Kyle. He felt a little bad for Alex though because he knew his son was going to run directly to his grandfather and blab. He was trembling, his eyes were wide in fear and he was deathly pale.

After the first exam was completed the headmaster released those who failed and gave the remaining 400 a 30 minute break while they prepared for the next exam. Tyler went over to his trembling kid and picked him up and sat down in the boys seat.

"I'm sorry papa. I didn't mean to do so bad on the first exam. Please don't be mad at me" he squeaked out.

" i'm not mad bubba you passed that's all that matters" said Tyler as he tried his best to pacify the boys fears. He started second guessing weather or not all this fear was coming from Alex or not "where is all this coming from. You're not usually one to show your emotions."

"I've been anxious for days about failing and being disowned but the scary boy up their made it worse" he said as he pointed up to the royal balcony. he was also failing to hold back the tears that welled up in his eyes.

You are a spoiled little pompous butthead that thinks he's hot crap because his pawpaw is the headmaster but I still love you bubba even if you fail I'll still love you and so will pawpaw" said Tyler as he comforted his son.

"But Shawna said I'm the weakest one here and probably won't pass." He said

"Shawna's not wrong bubba" which was the wrong thing to say to kyle because with the boys unstable emotional state he started to sob uncontrollably. "Aww boo bear don't cry. You can't expect to be the strongest in the room when you just gained that extra digit yesterday and on top of that you didn't even awaken until last night while you slept. Your pawpaw and I were surprised that you even wanted to try this round knowing how intense the competition would be. Not to mention your a healer bubba not a fighter. Why don't you go ahead and head back to the house buddy. I'm proud of you for trying so soon though." Tyler said to the sobbing boy

"But I'll….do….good on….the next round" Kyle said between sobs

"Do you honestly think you'll do well buddy" he asked

"I've been practicing my whole life to get into this academy" he said slowly pulling himself together. The fear of failure wasn't as strong as it had been before. But he was still terrified of disappointing his pawpaw.

"That's true and I'm proud of you for working so hard but that was before you awoke a passive affinity. You won't be able to keep up with these other kids." Said papa

Deep down Kyle knew this to be true. He knew that a healing affinity didn't increase one's strength or agility Even when they increased their level. But he refused to believe it. He refused to lie down and except defeat. "I'll pass dad I've already done these tests as practice and did ok."

"Are you sure bubba? I don't want You getting hurt just to prove yourself" said Tyler

"I'll be fine papa, that scary boys magic has worn off" he lied. It was actually still effecting him pretty badly

"You're still shaking baby. Are you sure you want to do this" to which Kyle nodded "ok well, if you're sure then I'll have to wish you good luck sweetheart. just know that I will love you even if you fail. Nothing will ever change that. Being a healer is actually a pretty important if not the most important job in a war. Without healers a lot more of our soldiers would succumb to their wounds. It's a very noble and sought after affinity."

"Sure papa, if you say so. I'd much rather have an offensive affinity or even a combo affinity like yours. Being a healer is not going to help me in my current situation." He said "but thank you for making me feel better" he hugged his papa and received a kiss on the forehead before his dad sat him down on his chair and walked back up to the platform.

Landon an Shawna watched the whole exchange. They looked at each other "no wonder he's so weak" they thought to themselves "what is the headmaster thinking letting a healer into the army school. He belongs in the specialty school. He's going to get himself killed" Landon whispered to Shawna

"I agree, but I have to respect his determination. Even with the power of the shadowlock still effecting him he's still willing to fight for a spot" she said

Up in the balcony Mack and Vorick noticed the odd exchange between Tyler and a boy in the front row. "I didn't know Tyler had a son" said Mack

"I doesn't look old enough to have a ten year old" said Vorick "he looks absolutely terrified"

"Why's Tyler looking up here" Mack asked then looked over to Alex "did you do something"

"It's a possibility that my skill works a little to well" he said with a nervous smile

"Will it wear off" asked Mack

"Nope which I just found out. It would have been nice to know beforehand" said Alex "shouldn't get any worse though"

"Well hopefully that doesn't backfire on us" said Vorick

" what's this about something backfiring?" Asked Thomas

"Alex used his skill on a random kid down their and made him cry" said Vorick

" is it the one being comforted by Tyler" he asked

"Yes sir, I'm sorry I didn't think Itd work that well" said Alex

"That's not good" said Thomas as he rubbed his chin " what are the odds that you would pick that particular kid?"

"Who is he dad" asked Mack

"Hhhhhh that's the headmasters grandson" he responded "and I may have to do damage control"

Mack and Voricks eyes widened but Alex's eyes grew to the size of dinner plates. "We're screwed" he thought "we haven't even started classes yet and I've already screwed up"

"Come here right now young man" said Thomas in a Stern dad voice.

Alex jumped at the sternness of the man's voice "y..yes s..sir" he stuttered

"Go easy on him dear" whispered Mary "he's been through so much"

"I am so disappointed in you young man. You deliberately disobeyed me after I told you not to use your powers on random people. Not only that, but I promised the headmaster that you three wouldn't do that. What do you have to say for yourself? You may have single-handedly ended your Academy career for both yourself and my sons. The headmaster is not going to take this Laying down. There will be consequences. And I hope for your sake that the headmaster doesn't decide to whip all three of you."

"but me and Mack didn't do anything" said Vorick with a hint of worry in his voice.

"that doesn't matter, you're guilty by association in his eyes. He doesn't like you and doesn't want you here. Now that Alex here has attacked his grandson out of nowhere and unprovoked I might add. The consequences might be severe"

"I….i…I had….no idea… who he…was…I'm sorry…please…don't be…mad at me… sir" he said as he began hyperventilating. Tears were openly flowing down his face.

"I think you need to go stand in the corner and think about what you've done. And breath for gods sake" said Thomas as the boy began to blubber like kids do when they've let down someone they look up to. He walked with his head down in shame and stuck his nose into the corner of the room. Mack and Vorick wanted so bad to go comfort their friend but knew that if they did they'd get in trouble. So they sat down and remained quiet as the headmaster explained the next exam.

"In this exam. Your goal is to move this rock from one side of the platform to the other. The total length of the platform is 50 yards. (45.72 meters) in order to pass this portion of the entrance exam, you must move the boulder past the 25 yard mark (22.86 meters). This will be a cakewalk for you geniuses and prodigies. however, those of you who aren't in these two categories might struggle a bit. That's why we have decided to allow you to use these gauntlets. They increase your strength when you feed Mana into them. You must first try to move the rock using your natural strength first only then can you use the gauntlets. This event is not timed but the faster you complete this assignment, the higher your rank will be. If the judge feels that you have reached your limit, He will end your turn regardless on whether you made it over the line or not. Since 200 of you failed the first round 350 of you are guaranteed to pass the third and final round if for some reason not enough was eliminated by not crossing the line the slowest performers will be eliminated until we've achieved the 50 eliminations required this round. We will start alphabetically good luck." With that he walked off the platform. And a name was called out.

While this was going on Kyle's dad Tyler was sitting where the staff seats were located. When his father, the headmaster, returned to his seat he asked "Do you think Kyle can do it with his current emotional state" he asked Tyler

"Honestly… even if he wasn't scared out of his Witt's I don't think he would've been able to pass this part. He is determined though."

"his determination is fake. Look at him, he's shaking like a leaf in a windstorm. This is super out of character for him. He is normally a very confident individual. That's what I admired so much about him, but that creature had to go and take that away from him"

"All Alex did was temporarily amplify Kyle's fear of failure. Kyle told me it had worn off." Said Tyler

"The skills magic has worn off yes but the damage that the skill did to his mind is permanent. This is because he is so young and is unable to protect his mind from mental attacks. If he was older and more skilled, he would be able to shield his mind using his mana. But he doesn't even know how to use mana yet. I knew it was a mistake letting those three into the Academy. I knew the king wouldn't be able to keep his word."

"you won't be able to do anything to the king" said Tyler as he rolled his eyes

"I won't need to do anything to the king. The contract he signed, stated that if they violated any of those rules that I could punish them how I see fit. And I will. Those boys obviously need a firm hand. Spare the rod spoil the child I say."

"Mack and Vorick didn't do this, why should they be punished" asked Tyler

"it'll be good to show them I mean business. That I am somebody that isn't going to let them get away with stuff just because they're royals. And he's their friend so that makes them responsible for him."

"you're acting as though it was a premeditated crime" said Tyler

"You don't think it was" said his father with a raised eyebrow.

"Of course I don't, Alex doesn't know my son from Adam and frankly neither do the princes. I think it was a completely random act. Kyle just happened to be the sorry sap that made eye contact. Alex may not even be aware of just how powerful and devastating his skill is."

"that still doesn't change the fact that he used a mental attack on a human child just for kicks, it sounds like"

"So what are you going to do. Are you going to expel them before they even get started?" Asked Tyler

"Of course not it's to soon to do that" he responded "all that would do is send them back to that posh life they were living before. That's no punishment."

"What other options are their" asked Tyler

"You will spank all three of them until you feel they've learned their lesson. But that's not enough for Alex as you call him" he said to himself "he must have an additional punishment. I will leave that to you." He finished.

By this point nearly half the students had there shot. A boy by the name Paxton who was big for his age of 10 years old moved the rock across the platform in under 10 seconds. This boy was a beast who looks like he was 13. He had short blonde hair, a Broad chest, and biceps to match, this boys muscles had muscles. He obviously jumped to the number one spot. He applauded himself like the meat head he was and smiled reviling a mouthful of crooked teeth. His nose was a little large and his eyes were a bit too close together. Despite his unattractive luck. He gave off a farming boy type appeal. And the girls kinda like that. So of course they cheered for him.

The second rank went to tiny little Landon Who surprisingly was able to move the rock unassisted to the other side of the platform in 30 seconds. Which means that his affinity is most likely earth. If his affinity was a strength-based one he would most likely be bigger like Paxton. The third place went to a mean, looking 12 year-old named Jax while the fourth place went to a 12-year-old girl named yavonka who had a holier than thou attitude. The top five was rounded out by an 11-year-old boy named hawk. It was definitely pretty tight. With only 60 seconds separating number one from number five.

Shawna's current rank was 15 after moving the rock to the other side of the platform in just under two minutes.

The kids continued to try their hand at moving the rock until eventually it was Kyle's turn. Trembling he walked up the steps to the platform And aproched the rock. "Here goes nothing" he said as he used what little strength he had but nothing happened. Not even a small budge. Even the ones who had to use the gauntlets were able to budge the rock a tiny bit but not Kyle. The judge put the gauntlets on Kyle and aloud him to try again. This time he was able to move the rock, but it was slow going. The judge allowed him to go 10 minutes but eventually, he had to stop the boy. He was able to move the rock 15 meters but unfortunately it was not enough to reach the passing Mark. Kyle was crushed, It took everything he had not to break down right there. He hung his head and walked back to his seat. He was the 50th person to be eliminated.

They were released for a two hour lunch break while the Arena team set up the obstacle course for the agility exam. Kyle informed his dad that he was going to walk home. He thanked his pawpaw for the opportunity to try out for a spot at the academy and apologized profusely for being a failure. Once he left Tyler decided that now was a good time to go up and talk to Alex since they had two hours before the next event started.

Up in the balcony an 11 year old boy knocked on the door and entered when he was told to. "What can I do for you young man" asked Thomas

" i'm here to take your lunch orders your Majesty" said the boy as he handed a menu to both the King and Queen. He handed a kids menu to Vorick and Mack with a shaky hand. He gulped

"Are we that scary" asked Mack with a smile

"No" said the boy

"I don't think your body agrees with you" Vorick giggled as he pointed out the boys shaky legs

"Quit teasing the poor thing and decide what you want" said Mary

"she takes all the fun out of it" said Vorick as he opened the menu

The boy noticed another kid about his age with his face in the corner, which he knew was the sign That he had done something worthy of being in the corner. He approached the boy and tapped on his shoulder. "What would you like to eat" he asked. He heard the boy in the corner sniffle

"I..don't…want…anything….sir" said Alex

"Are you sure" asked the boy "it might be a while before you're able to eat again. The Academy's cafeteria won't serve dinner until 630pm tonight"

"Yes sir I'm sure" said Alex as he stifled another sob "I won't be attending the Academy"

"you'll have to excuse him" said Mack "he calls everybody, sir or ma'am."

"Oh ok, did you want to order something for him? If my boss finds out somebody up here didn't eat regardless of the situation, I can lose my job." Said the boy

"I would just get him a cold cut sandwich. He probably won't eat it. He doesn't really have much of an appetite right now. But it'll be here if he decides he's hungry." Said Mack

"Yes sir I'll put him down for a cold cut" said the boy

" i'll have a burger and fries" said Mack

" anything on that burger?"

"nope just plain" he responded

"I'll have the chicken strips and fries" said Vorick

" What about you your majesty? have you guys decided yet?"

" I think I'll have the filet mignon" said Thomas

" and I'll have the grilled chicken" said Mary

" are the recommended sides with those OK?" He asked to which they said yes. "OK I'll have that up as soon as I can. Oh, hello instructor"

"hello Billy boy" said Tyler as he passed the boy at the doorway to the balcony.

"Hello Tyler" greeted the king "I was wondering when you were going to come up here. I'm surprised you didn't come up here sooner."

"so I take it you're aware of what Alex did Kyle" he asked the king

"Yes, One of the twins accidentally threw them under the wagon" said the king "how bad is it? Is he OK?"

"he failed like we knew he was going to prior to this. He'll be OK but The damage Alex caused, however, is permanent. He'll never be the same again. His confidence is gone."

"I am dreadfully sorry about that" said the king

"his overconfidence made him arrogant so I kind of see this is a good thing. However, my father does not. And wants the boys to be punished. All three boys are to be spanked tonight before bed. Alex will have an additional punishment that I haven't quite decided on yet. The only reason why the twins are being punished is because my father considers them responsible for Alex."

"Seems a bit overboard, but I can't really do anything about it since I signed the contract" said the king "Alex I want you to come over here and apologize to Mr. Tyler"

"Yes sir" said the boy as he walked over and got on his knees and went as low to the floor as he could in a bowing gesture "I'm sorry…sir" he sobbed "theirs no….excuses…for my…stupidity…as penance…I will… voluntarily… forfeit…my slot…. In the… academy… to your son. He deserves it…more then I"

"I didn't really want this to happen because I don't think you did it to be vindictive. It most likely was a random act. But if this is the course of action that you have chosen, then I will accept it as your secondary punishment. I'm not really the one you need to be apologizing to but I don't think he'll ever wanna be around you after what you did to him. You're lucky you didn't make him piss his pants."

Alex remained in that position while Tyler talked to the king " what happens now that he's given up his slot? Does he leave with us?"

" no, my father would not allow that to happen. He wants him to learn his lesson instead of being sent back to the castle. He believes that his punishment would be too light. So he will remain here confined to the royal residence and it's grounds. It'll be like his own personal prison"

"That sounds awful" said Mary

"it's either that or the dungeon" said Tyler " anyway, I will take my leave. Your meals should be arriving soon."

"again I am sorry for this" said the king "we will see you later then"

"I will meet you at the residence after the final exam is completed" said Tyler as he left the balcony.

Alex chose to do it later. He was at a pretty low point right now and was having thoughts of giving up his powers or just not using them ever again if they were going to get him in trouble every time he use them. He then got a not so pleasant message from the system.

Mental attacks on Freshly awakened youths Can cause severe mental damage due to The inability to protect themselves. As a consequence of your actions host will be regressed to the age of 9. Host may submit an age progression request to the two responsible for you. They can use their LE points to increase your age. You are completely at their mercy.

It is highly recommended that in the future host refrains from using his powers on youths that don't deserve it no matter how arrogant they seem. Too much fear and a weak minded victim could go insane.]

Mack and Vorick had received the same message. Only it was worded slightly different. They glanced down at Alex and noticed that his clothes were a bit to baggy. The back part of his pants had slipped down to reveal his pull up diaper. He looked smaller then before. Not a huge difference but enough to be noticeable.

"Poor Alex" said Vorick "he's not having a very good day is he?"

"I'm going to go see if it's possible for us to skip the last event and go to the royal residence early." He walked over to his dad "hey dad"

"Yeah buddy" he said as he scooped up the boy.

"Do we have to stay and watch the last event or can we go ahead and go to the house" he asked

" aren't you curious about who the strongest in your class is going to be?" Asked Thomas

"None of us are really feeling up to it anymore. Plus, it doesn't really apply to us." Said Mack

"I can understand that" agreed the king "being punished for something you didn't do can kill any mood"

"plus Alex is having a bit of a wardrobe malfunction. Our patron seems to have punished him a bit. Let's just say his clothes are a bit loose."

The king looked over at where Alex was still bowing and could instantly tell that he was smaller than he was before and noticed the wardrobe issue Mack mentioned. " yeah I see what you mean. We'll go after we eat. If the headmaster doesn't like it, he can kiss my booty" he said

The delivery boy gave Alex an odd look when he noticed what look like a diaper but didn't say anything. Once he delivered the food he let them eat in peace and left the area.

After everyone had eaten their meals, except Alex, who stayed in his position on the floor unmoving, they decided it was time to take their leave. Mack went over to Alex to get him up and moving. "Hey we're getting ready to head to the house. Are you coming with us or would you prefer to stay here and imitate footstool?"

"I'll come" he cried

" you kinda need to stand up then goofy" said Mack as he picked the boy up and sat him on his feet. This action caused his pants that were two sizes too big for him now to slip down around his ankles. He bent over and picked them up, holding them in place and followed behind the family of four as they walked towards the main entrance. Nobody tried to stop them as they walked through the front doors and entered the carriage.

Back on the Arena floor everyone noticed the departure of the royal family. " I wonder why they're leaving so soon" Landon asked

" I'm just spit Balling here, but I think it has something to do with what the shadowlock did to Kyle" said Shawna "he was not OK"

" you don't think they were asked to leave because of that do you" asked Landon

"no, if anybody would've been asked to leave it would've been the shadowlock" she said "I hope you didn't get too much trouble"

" me too" said Landon "I was looking forward to meeting him"

"Well, what do you think?" Said the headmaster

"The boy was very remorseful. He even gave up his Academy slot to Kyle voluntarily" said Tyler. He frowned like he wanted to say something.

" what's on your mind, son?" He asked

" I think that Alex should have some form of repercussion for his actions, but I think he should still be allowed to attend classes. He needs to learn how to Control his power better and it's our job to do that." Said Tyler as he rubbed his chin.

"why do you like those monsters so much? Our whole way home The other day, those three were the only thing you could talk about."

"Their not monsters dad their not Xander and Caden. They're not gonna regress somebody for defending their friend even if he was sleeping with his students." Explained Tyler "you can't hold somebody accountable for something they didn't do just because they're the same species"

" you don't know what it was like. Watching your best friend regress all the way to a newborn baby only for him to melt into a puddle of goo. And then losing everything you've worked hard for. All those cultivation levels gone less than a minute. And to make matters worse, I had a strong mind so I remembered everything. It wasn't until years later when I was old enough again that I learned that he actually was touching those kids inappropriately. I was so mad at him. I felt Betrayed"

his eyes widened like he had just had the biggest epiphany of his life " son, you might be onto something. Those three are completely inexperienced. I have the opportunity to teach them, to mold them. But how do I teach somebody to be some thing that I'm not? This changes things. I still don't completely trust them, that's going to take time. They're still gonna have to prove themselves and I still want them kept on a short leash until they proven themselves"

" so does that mean Alex can still attend classes" asked Tyler

" of course of course, how else is he supposed to learn anything?"

" What about Kyle?" He asked

"unfortunately he'll have to wait until next semester. There just won't be enough beds in the barracks."

" didn't you want him to live with those three as a sort of a babysitter? Why not just let him do that and let him attend classes." Asked Tyler

" do you honestly think Kyle would want to be anywhere near them?" He asked Tyler

" I think it will do him good. You never know they may become good friends. He needs friends."

" I don't disagree with you just don't force him if he doesn't want to. And I still expect those three to follow the rules for now." He said as they arrived back in the Arena.

Just then an official approached headmaster and told him that the royal family had left "where did they go?" He asked

" they were headed in the direction of the Royal residence, sir" said the official

" thank you for letting me know" said the headmaster. The man bowed respectfully and returned to his post.

"the event may have lost a bit of its luster" said Tyler " we really didn't need the boys to be here anyway since they're not going to be ranked. We were planning to test their strength and agility at a later date anyway."

with that being said, the headmaster walked up onto the platform and explained the proceedings of the Final part of the exam. They went and order rank this time. Landon being tiny completed the obstacle course with the fastest time jumping Paxton for the number one slot this was because Paxton was bulky and not really built for speed. Paxton, of course took number two. Followed by yavonka at three Jax at forth and hawk keeping his position at 5th.

The rest of the students performances weren't really worth mentioning and eventually, the final person finished with a time of seven minutes and 54 seconds A time which earned them the 300th rank.

" I think a congratulations is in order for the 300 cadets who passed the entrance exam. To those who did not, I wish you good luck in three months. Before I release you to your living quarters, just a few announcements. Due to your safety, the Royal residence is off-limits. This may change at a later time. But if you are not authorized to be there, then you are not to be there. The only people that can authorize you to be there are myself and instructor Tyler. The princes cannot authorize you to be there. If you are caught snooping, you will pay the consequences.

The top five rank need to see instructor Tyler to get the keys to their homes, which are located in the old noble area.

And lastly, the cafeteria will be serving dinner at 6:30 PM and parents are to be off the campus grounds no later than 5 PM which means you don't have a whole lot of time so you better get going. And with that the students and parents started to file out of the arena.
