Chapter 30

Jamison waited there for a minute.

"If this doesn't stop, we're going to have to get him mental health help," Trevon retorted, "possibly inpatient."

Jamison trudged over to his dresser. He opened the top drawer, which was crammed with nourishment packets. He chose one, pocketed it, and turned his attention to the teleport.

"On my way," he told hologram Nessa as he squared his feet on the floor disk.

He studied his implant. Then he swiped it sideways. As always, he was broken into bare molecules and materialized inside Area 51. After extinguishing the security cameras, he jogged to the holding unit.

Nessa angled her implant at the passcode device.

N377A, the combination appeared on her implant and on the pass-code pad.

It took her eyes a second to adjust. The energy shield had become her new normal, and gave off a faint light that enabled her to see the chamber outside.

Jamison held the nourishment packet in her direction. She took it with both hands.

"Gratitude," she said. "I was starting to get hangry."

He giggled, but then he forced a stern expression and checked the hallway behind him and opposite the holding unit. He knelt on the floor.

"I see you remembered the passcode," he remarked.

She waved her implant and said, "I uploaded it a while ago."

Jamison shifted and checked his surroundings again.

"You were right about the truth," he recalled. "It did come to light. At least with Mama anyway."

"Maybe it will come to light with your father too," she said. "At least, I hope it does."

He leaned in closer to the holding unit, and said, "Daddy is talking about getting me evaluated because he thinks there's something wrong with my mind," he said with an eye roll. "Maybe someplace I'd have to stay. Well, you heard what he said."

Jamison rose and reactivated the energy shield.

"When that happens," he added, "is when you should break out."
