Cora stared at the envelope which had more in it than just paper. "Do you think it's been long enough?"

"It's been nearly four hours since we left port now." Jared replied with a shrug.

Cora nodded and cracked the seal with the scissors. She pulled out a stack of papers and then poured the contents of the envelope out onto the table. She set the papers down so they could look at them one at a time.

The first document was a marriage certificate for Jackson and Claire West. They were apparently on their honeymoon in the Cayman Islands. The next two documents were birth certificates for the state of Michigan for both. Claire's last name had been Redding before the marriage.

The next document was a deed for a house on sixty-five acres in Michigan. The house was described as a three-bedroom lakefront cabin surrounded by dense Michigan forest right at the Canadian border. Cora and Jared shared a look. Neither had ever lived anywhere but the city before.
