Chapter 13: Sunglasses

Asher whipped around.

Walking toward the open-air beach bar was a slim woman with long blonde hair that reached her lower back. She was wearing a pure white bikini that looked tailor-made to her curves and purple sunglasses that probably cost more than all of Seeley’s scuba equipment.

The woman zeroed in on their position like a laser-guided torpedo.

Before the copper-haired woman could react, Asher reached out across the table, grabbing her hand, and lacing his fingers through hers like they were always made to be this way.

“Ashie…so this is where you’ve been hiding out in a…” the blonde model looked up and around at Charm Bar “...dirty dive bar?” Eva’s tinkling voice rang out from the beach.

Something in the back of the caramel-eyed woman’s mind screamed that she had heard her voice before, but she didn’t pay it much mind because she was gagging over the fact she called Asher, ‘Ashie’, like some sort of lap dog.

Asher frowned, his eyes dark and hard like chips of agate.
