Chapter 43
“Well, good night,” Ted said, wanting to be on his way now he’d made up his mind not to pursue this any further.
“Good night and God bless you,” Kenny said. He started to walk away then turned back. He came up to Ted and said, “I really don’t know anyone here but you. Would it be okay if we hung out some, studied together, went out to eat and stuff?”
Ted looked at Kenny’s handsome face, into his piercing blue eyes. He looked so expectant, so lost, puppy-like. Ted’s heart melted and he smiled. “Sure. I’d like that.”
Without thinking, Ted put both hands on Kenny’s shoulders. Kenny looked surprised, then joyful. He responded by placing his hands on Ted’s waist. Ted knew that if they had been alone he would have revealed his gayness by kissing Kenny then and there. Instead, Ted just said, “Call me or I’ll call you.”
