Chapter 32
A late afternoon matinee, complete with pop and popcorn was next on the agenda. The movie, an action thriller, while not to Ted’s liking, was thoroughly enjoyable when shared with Sam, who, Ted could tell, was loving it.
They topped off the day with dinner at a Mexican restaurant that just happened to have a mariachi band which Sam paid to serenade Ted.
“Not a string quartet, but it’s pretty romantic music…I think? Don’t speak Spanish myself,” Sam said, giving Ted’s leg a squeeze beneath the table.
Finally back in their hotel room, they sat on the couch and cuddled before the fire in the gas fireplace.
All in all, it was a very satisfying way for Ted to spend a Saturday. He knew the limitations Sam’s career would impose. However, he couldn’t help but wonder if a life like this could be possible.
