A Fresh Start

It was the month of May, and the term break was about to end. Students were preparing for their new sessions. For many other students, it was quite the same, but for Aasit, this academic session would be very different. He was going to start his new life at his new school, the life of a senior high school student. He was an adorable 17 years old olive-skinned boy with a pair of spectacles on his long thin nose and brown eyes, thin lips, and a straight eyebrow, gifted with an average height of 5'4". Even though he was excited about this new starting, he was also quite nervous since, for a shy and quiet student like him, it was the first time he would live away from his family.

While Aasit was busy thinking and packing for his upcoming session, a woman in her 30's, interrupted his thoughts. That woman was Aasit's mother, Alka. Like her name, she was beauteous with big eyes, tall nose bridge, full lips, a heart-shaped face, and tanned-skin.

"If packing has done, you should come downstairs as your father and sister are waiting for you at the breakfast table," she started to help him in cleaning his room, as there were things thrown all around the room. After cleaning, both of them went downstairs.

A tall, handsome man having an oval-shaped face, and a broad shoulder, with a well-built body, was arranging the dining table, while a little girl who was having long beautiful hair was playing with a doll. The man was Aasit's father, Daksh and the little girl was his younger sister Suhana. The facial features of the little girl were somehow like her mother.

"Breakfast is ready, finish it quickly so that we can go for buying required things during your stay at the dorm," Daksh said while being busy in arranging the table. All the family members sat around the table. After being quiet for some time, Aasit asked his father, "Dad, were you nervous and afraid when you were getting yourself prepared for your senior high school?"

"Not actually, I was quite excited," Daksh continued, "I was completely prepared, as I knew, that I was going to learn many new things, and even you will also have a lot of fun, just like your mother and I had when we were of your age," and he gave a calm smile.

After finishing their food, Aasit helped his mother in cleaning the leftovers, and he went into his room for dressing up. After changing his clothes, he directly went to the garage where his father already stood. They both sat inside the car and Daksh started to drive. On the way to the mall, Daksh said Aasit many things about his school days. He told him about the times he and his friends stood outside the Principal's office for busting a vinegar bottle in their class, how he approached Aasit's mother, and about their story.

On reaching the mall, they went inside for shopping and bought many things like a navy t-shirt for himself, a matching couple dress for his parents, a beautiful dress and a dollhouse for his sister, and a few gifts for his to be friends at the new school. After buying the things, they drove back home. Seeing a new dress and a brand-new dollhouse, little Suhana became very happy and hugged her elder brother. "You are the best brother in this world," Suhana said in her childish voice, with a big cute smile on her face. "I have to be the best brother since I got the best little sister," Aasit replied and started tickling her. They played together for some time, as Aasit would be leaving for his school the very next morning.

"Aasit, I think now you should go back to your room since it is already past 10, and you have to leave quite early, or you will miss the train," Alka instructed as she was entering the room.

"Yes Mom, I was about to go, but I thought that I should play with Suhana a little because I don't know when I am going to see her the next," Aasit said while making a babyface, along with little Suhana.

"You are going to visit in the summer break, it's not like you are vanishing forever," Alka replied in a scolding but soft tone. And with a sad face, Aasit went to his room.
