Chapter 4

The noisy alarm rang as its owner growled and rolled on the bed. Tiredness filled her up as she strides her hand to where the clock stood, which was in a drawer close to her. A groan escapes her lips as she jerked up with blurry vision. Softly, she scrubbed her eyes and flew down the bed which heaving a deep sigh. Her unkept hair lingered lazily on her shoulders as she tottered towards the sitting room to get something to drink. Her room had been unkept for a while, and the one person who scolds her to keep it neat was gone. She ran her fingers through her hair, sighed briefly and muttered bitterly;

"I miss you"

Once she got closer to the fridge, she smiled at a picture which hung on the top of it. It was a picture of she and the man who had captured her heart without making any effort. Tears suddenly clouded her eyes as she cast her mind off their relationship. She still had the ring he had placed on her the day she spent the night in his house, promising to marry her. However, he was nowhere to be found.

While she was lost in thoughts and shedding tears, a knock was heard on the door. Hurriedly, she wipes off her tears filled eyes and tread to the door. She was bewildered at whom she found at the door. There he was, holding a bunch of roses, a gift bag and a bright smile. Just who she was thinking of, and he appeared as though granting her wish. His emotional eyes searched as he was willing to apologize, and before he could say anything, stacy gave him a brief kiss on the lips. He licked his lower lips and held her by the waist, pulling her to lean on him as his lips parted hers, giving love drunk nurse a passionate ravishing kiss. She broke away from the kiss and pulled him inside while banging the door. Her heart raced, sighting him alone as he whispered if that meant he was forgiven, and she nodded, wrapping her hands around his neck while he dropped the presents in his hands to fill up his long awaiting fiancé with pleasures. They were still in the sitting room as his hands jerked her body on him as he resumed his kiss, while a silent moan left her as she tried imitating his movement. Her hands found their way into his shirt as she fondled his skin while his lips suckled her neck. However, that was interrupted by a call and Stacy smirked while stepping back away from him. Her hands began to shiver with disappointment as he hadn't even reached a minute with her and a sudden call to post him somewhere else was coming in. It was best they never started a relationship that wouldn't work. Stacy shook her head as her delusion was taking over. It had been months, and she hadn't heard anything nor received a call from him. He often does like that and returns magically, but then vanished without her knowledge. Not only, he had dreams and duties to serve the nation. She also had a lot vested in her, but then she finds out time for him. Though, she tried forgetting him, but it wasn't working as he had taken control of her. This shattered doctor made up her mind that the next time she meets him, they really needed to talk out their differences.

When Ryan returned, and meets stacy again, she directly asks him to explain his sudden disappearances and job. Still, he cannot go into too much detail due to the highly classified nature of his assignments. They elaborate on their views on life and realize how different they are. Ryan, as a soldier, kills to protect lives, while stacy, as a doctor, honors the Hippocratic Oath and tries to save lives. Due to their philosophical differences, they agree to part ways. They were never meant to be and rather than hurting their feelings, it was best they separated. She shut her eyes, swallowing the pains that had built up in her heart. He didn't even feel remorse and wished her the best of happiness while fulfilling her dreams. She had to ask herself if he had forgotten all those moments they spent together and made promises that nothing would break them apart. Perhaps, they were naive and never considered reality, as their love life wasn't based on a fairy tale. Her eyes peered at him as he walked away from her until he was out of sight. Stacy couldn't tell how he felt at that moment as he never expressed his emotions that suppress him. She had different waves of emotions as she made every effort to stay strong while forgetting about the man who won and shattered her heart.
