Female Strategist

Facing the unexpected question from Soujin, Jun Hua blanked out for a moment. She forgot that there is one occupation where a female could possibly go onto the battlefield, strategist. Although it is still against the norm of the Ming Kingdom, but it's not like there aren't any in the other kingdoms. Even so, this method is not really popular because women are seen as weaker even in terms of making strategies and normally they would not reach a high rank.

"…Yes."

Soujin looked towards the map once more. "I see. Have you been the one making the strategies for Jun Min?"

Jun Hua didn't know how to answer this. If she said yes, it would make her other self look weaker, but if she said no, it would be a blatant lie. She had always made the strategy herself, with some of them coming from her commander. All in all, they were her makings and decisions.

Soujin looked towards Jun Hua's scribbles on the paper and he chuckled a bit. The strategies that Jun Hua wrote are some of what he had once thought of before, but he chose not to implement them since they were not really suitable to this battle area. And his own forces might not necessarily be able to fight on par with the Kai Kingdom's army who specialize in warfare in the forest.

"Your strategies are interesting, but since the Kai Kingdom's soldiers are the experts on warfare inside the forest, we might not necessarily be able to fight on par with them if we are not trained in this area," Soujin said, implicitly talking about Jun Min's soldiers since the southeast areas are composed of mountains while the northeast contains forests.

"Ah yeah, it was only a passing thought in my head," Jun Hua answered. "With the army specializing in fighting inside the forest, it will be a huge advantage for them to fight in this area. I think this is one of the reasons they chose to move the fight here."

"One of the reasons? Can you think of others?" Soujin only casually made that remark. He would never expect that Jun Hua can fluently voice out and express her thoughts properly. Maybe he can test her a little?

"This area is the territory of Kai Kingdom, they must have a full grasp of this area and fighting in a familiar place brings you more advantages. Besides, there is also a psychological effect on the enemy as they are inside the enemy territory, they would be afraid of the hidden traps that the other party could possibly launch. This will limit the soldiers' movements…"

Jun Hua kept on talking about many things while Soujin listened carefully. Jun Hua always shared her thoughts with her uncle when they went to the war together which made her familiar with saying her thoughts out in a clear and concise manner. This habit has caused her to subconsciously answer when Soujin asked her.

By the time she was done, Jun Hua realized that this is not her usual place and the one in front of her is Soujin, not her uncle. Jun Hua wanted to hide herself. What have I done?

Soujin smiled upon hearing Jun Hua's clear explanations of her points. He would never think that a noble girl can think through things so carefully and systematically to the point that he would feel awed, even more so, a girl with such a bad reputation like Jun Hua.

Looking at the smiling face of Soujin, Jun Hua was startled for a second. This man is already so handsome and when he smiled genuinely, his face looked even more stunning. Even for her that won't usually be moved by a handsome face still felt a bit stunned.

"You're amazing, Jun Hua."

"Thank… Thank you General Soujin."

Soujin stared at the map. "But still, that kind of thing won't make us stay low. There are things we can do to strike them."

Jun Hua still hadn't found the right strategies she could use though. This battle was originally not hers and she was only doing this out of habit. She was planning to talk about it with Soujin as Jun Min, but the plan changed since she had met him as Jun Hua.

"Then, does General Soujin have any plan?" Jun Hua asked. She does want to know and since she had partially exposed herself being on the battlefield, there is nothing wrong in asking.

Soujin nodded. "If they keep on running away, then the only way to make them fight us is by force."

"How do you plan to force them?" Jun Hua asked. That was one of the things she had been thinking about. How can they make the Kai Kingdom turn their head towards them and not continue running away?

"You will know later. If you want to know, try to look at your picture again, you might not get the chance to see it again later."

Originally, Soujin wanted to talk with Jun Hua more, but he sensed that Jun Min's guard had come. With that, he chose to leave her with that message and didn't bother with the little girl anymore. If there was time in the future, he would like to chat more with her.

Jun Hua watched Soujin's back as the general left. Somehow, she got the feeling that she knew what the other party meant, but it's truly an awful plan. Regardless, she's not one to stop him with his plan if he wants to act on it.

Yamin appeared not long after that. "Miss…?"

Jun Hua knows that Yamin must have seen Soujin coming out from this tent. What can she say? Even if the two of them are still standing guard, they might not be able to warn her on time given Soujin's high ability and all.

"Just give the report of what you found around here."

"Yes…"

Soujin walked to his tent. "Lou, come out!"

A man suddenly appeared before Soujin. He was dressed in black, just like what Yamin and Yasha usually wore. Upon his arrival, he bowed deeply. "Young Master."

"Send my order, let's destroy this place."

"Yes."
