Ch.3

'Ok so it's like a spell then, neat'

I activate the mana hijack and tap into the veins testing it out. Didn't work out too well.

'Why can't I tap into the mana? They are no veins!?'

When I activated the skill and a "mental map" of the mana vein system was shown to me inside my head. The veins lead into a core where the heart would be. But the problem was that all the veins were black with the core barely having a blue tinge to it.

' This body can't be more than a week old. *sigh* Guess that means that the veins decompose first on a body and fast too. Why do I need this body so much?'

The wall opened up to reveal a green saber tooth with quills running down the back of it. It looked at me before quickly running at me.

'That is a freaking saber tooth! Why is it green? No, don't think about that now. Worry about surviving first'

It got to me and started clawing out the body I was in. But thankfully I disconnected myself from the corpse before it hit the ground trapping me under them. But the tiger started eating the corpse right then and there.

' I just noticed how thin you are. Poor guy.'

I looked up to see the two scientists looking in at what was going on. After my second of hatred, I started crawling toward the starving tiger. I quickly jumped up onto the front leg of the tiger trying to get the on the back of it. As so as a latched on the leg the tiger grab me with its mouth and tried to crush me in its mouth.

So since it got me at the center of my body, I dug my legs in where ever they would go drawing blood while I went after the throat chopping down.

'Come on-die you overgrown cat.'

After a few minutes of hitting a huge gush of blood came out and the saber tooth dropped me. The cat backed away and fell on its side.

Ding!!!

Level up: new skill options available.

' sorry cat, at least you are free now.'

I felt bad for taking a living creature's life but it was me or it and I can't feel bad about it. I opened my status to look at my options trying to take my mind off of the starving animal.

Mana evolution: make your host adapt to the environment it is in to better protect you.

Integration: slowly replace the spine of your host.

Graphing: graph flesh together, the longer it is graphed together the more integrated it becomes.
