The car drove away, and Zhao Mengmeng asked the taxi driver to stop in front of the mall before she and Song Weiyi got out, hand in hand.
The two found a place to sit, ordered some snacks and hot drinks, and Zhao Mengmeng shivered from the cold.
"You're as pale as a ghost. You must have had a rough few days," she said, pushing a piece of cake towards Song Weiyi and placing it in front of her.
"Really?" Song Weiyi touched her face. She hadn't looked closely in a mirror and was sure she must look dreadful now.
"Of course. You haven't told me yet, what exactly happened?"
Song Weiyi had been taken to the police station, a rather secret matter that very few people knew the details of.
As for Zhao Mengmeng, she only knew because she had a relative at the police station, who had told her through Zhao Gao.
"Sheng Jinsen dropped the charges, so I was released," Song Weiyi explained.
