IMPOTENT LOSER

Raelle blinked multiple times with her jaws wide. "Boss? Again?"

"Yes, Raelle," Liam nodded. "Allow me to make a formal introduction of myself. I am William Wilson, CEO of Wilson's Corporation and also President and Chairman of Wilson's Software Agency."

Raelle was surprised, though she was a little lost. "But, the media—"

"Don't believe everything the media says, wife," he shrugged, "besides, I like to keep certain things private."

"Oh, wow." Raelle nodded with a small smile. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Wilson."

Liam shook his head; there was a hint of a smile on his face as he nodded. "Hmm, the pleasure is mine, Mrs. Wilson. Please, take your seat."

Raelle sat on the royal blue settee, her heart racing as a warm flush crept up her cheeks. He had called her 'Mrs. Wilson' in his deep, masculine voice. It was as if a thousand butterflies had fluttered their wings open in her stomach. She could not help stealing a glance at him as he disappeared behind a small door in the room.

A few minutes later, Liam came out holding two cups in his hands. He was no longer wearing those drenched clothes. Instead, he was clothed in black chinos pants and a blue shirt that looked as though it had just been pressed.

"Tea?" he asked, handing one of the cups to her.

Raelle nodded and took the cup from him with a small 'thank you.' She saw him sit next to her, enjoying his cup of tea. Without a word, she brought the cup to her lips and took a sip, her eyes widening as soon as the liquid touched her lips.

"Hmm," she nodded. "Warm, creamy, sweet..." she commented.

"You like it?"

"Love it."

Liam smiled.

"Teddy's on his way; I asked him to get you some clothes suitable for the weather. In the meantime, you can stay in the other room; it's warmer," he said to her.

"You didn't have to, but thank you." Raelle smiled. "I'll stay here; it's warm enough for me. You were the one who got soaked in the rain."

"Me? I'm fine. I'm more worried about you. After all, Grandpa made me swear," he said, hearing Raelle chuckle.

Liam turned to her. Her laughter rang out like the soft tinkling of bells; it was simply music to his ears. Her smiles were genuine, traveling to her eyes. The soft dimples on her cheeks made her even more alluring each time she smiled.

Liam's heart swelled; he did not know why. It was a new feeling; he had never felt that way before. He leaned in closer as she stopped laughing and wrapped her hands around her cup; his jade eyes were fixed on her radiant face, slowly lowering to her lips that were resting on the rim of the cup.

"Ah, this tea is the real deal!" Raelle nodded happily. She was no longer feeling the cold anymore. She was starting to feel sweaty.

She turned to Liam who was still in his trance. "You know how to make tea. Will you teach me?"

Liam blinked a few times, trying to compose himself. He quickly looked away. He felt odd; he had been caught staring. He quickly brought his cup to his lips and gulped everything down at once; its hot content burning in the back of his throat so much that he had to close his eyes for a second.

When the stinging sensation had lessened, he turned to Raelle and nodded. "Hmm, it's simple."

Raelle smiled. "Thank you."

She had barely finished saying those words when her phone began to ring. She quickly pulled it out of her purse.

"Aunt Lucy?" Raelle muttered, a hint of shock on her face.

Aunt Lucy was her late mother's elder sister. She had gotten married when Raelle was only a baby, and since then, Raelle had only seen her twice. Once was when Aunt Lucy had her baby, and the other time was at her mother's funeral. She was the only remaining family Raelle had from her mother, but they rarely got along or even spoke.

Raelle turned to glance at Liam with confused eyes. She had never had a peaceful talk with Aunt Lucy, but rejecting the call would be a great disrespect to the woman.

So, she took a deep breath and pressed the receive button. Taking the phone to her ear, she said in a small shaky voice, "Hello?"

"What have you done, Raelle?" Her aunt's voice came from the other side of the phone, filled with rage. Raelle could tell she was gritting her teeth almost to the point of having a headache.

"William called me; why did you refuse to marry Kim? So, you have become promiscuous, right?"

'Promiscuous?' Raelle frowned. 'she was the one who was promiscuous?'

"Are you deaf!?" her aunt yelled when she got no answer from the girl.

Raelle quickly moved the phone from her ear and placed it on speaker. She sighed inaudibly and said, "No, Aunty Lucy, I am not deaf. I heard you loud and clear."

"Good! Now, answer me. Why did you leave Kim and decide to become promiscuous? Do you want to disgrace me? You want to bring shame to your mother and me? How dare you!?"

At the mention of her mother, Raelle's tears began to form in her eyes. Her lips pressed into a thin line.

"Aunty, did Dad tell you what happened?" She wanted to be sure that her aunt did not know the truth before speaking to her in such a manner, but her aunt's reply caused her to rethink:

"Yes, Raelle! Kim left you at the bureau, so what? Aren't you supposed to wait for him? What if he was busy with something important?"

Raelle scoffed. "Like Claire, you mean, Aunt Lucy?" She nodded to herself with a small smile. "Yeah, I understand."

"Don't give me that stupid 'I understand' now, Raelle!" Her aunt was seething with rage. "You will do as I say from now on, Raelle. Listen to me; you will go to the court tomorrow, you and the impotent loser that you married, and you will file for a divorce. That is final!" her aunt declared.

"Divorce?" Raelle echoed to hear her aunt hum. She snickered. "You know, Aunt Lucy, if you were not my mother's only sister, I would have said something to you, but I will refrain from doing so."

"As for the 'impotent loser' that I have married, I need you all to understand that we are married... legally married... and there is nothing anything or anyone can do to come between us," Raelle said stubbornly. "You have no right to tell me what to do."

"Raelle, do not test me! Don't you dare test me! Otherwise, I will make sure that the marriage is annulled in one hour! If you want peace, do as I say and get married to Kim!"

"No, Aunt Lucy, I will not listen to you, nor to anyone for that matter." Raelle shook her head. "If that is all you have called to say, then goodbye." After saying this, Raelle ended the call immediately.

Beside her, Liam had listened to the conversation between Raelle and her aunt in surprise.

"Impotent? Loser... That was what her aunt had called him; he could not be more surprised than he was."

Raelle turned to Liam with a sad smile on her face. She felt embarrassed that he had to hear all her aunt had said. Especially when she had called him an impotent loser.

"I'm sorry you had to hear that," she stated softly, her voice barely passing for a whisper. "My aunt is... she's a bunch of trouble. I apologize on her behalf."

"It's fine." Liam nodded. He was not angry, just surprised.

It was not new to him that he was rumored as an impotent man. Some even said he was gay. But, no one had ever said it to his face; today, he had been called one to his hearing. It was quite funny to him.

"You and your aunt do not get along well, right?"

"Is it that obvious?" Raelle smiled awkwardly.

Liam nodded. "Very..."

"We don't." Raelle shrugged and placed her phone on the table. "She never liked me. She told my mother to abort me when my mum told her about the pregnancy."

Liam frowned. That was shocking... "Why?"

Raelle shook her head, telling him she did not know why. Even she had always wanted to experience the love of an aunt but unfortunately, her aunt only despised her.

Liam sighed and stood up. He stretched out a hand for Raelle to take. "Let's go?"

"So soon?" Raelle looked up confused. "What about Teddy?" she asked.

"Teddy will bring the clothes to the house. In the meantime, let's go for lunch; I'm hungry." Liam answered.

"Oh, okay then," Raelle nodded and stood up. She finished her tea and picked up her phone and purse, and they left.
