AM I JEALOUS?

"Finally! Here he is!"

Liam's brows furrowed at the figure inside his office. He stood by the door and crossed his hands across his chest.

"Get out." He seemed uninterested as he walked further into the door, giving Raelle space to pass.

"How heartless! Is this how to treat your assist- Madam!"

Teddy's voice drowned in shock of seeing Raelle. Even though he had only seen her at the bureau on the day of the unplanned marriage, he could clearly remember the girl who had agreed to marry his boss on a whim.

Liam's icy glare didn't lessen as he locked eyes with Teddy. His expression remained stern and bored.

"Teddy, I don't have time for idle chatter. I have work to do," Liam retorted coldly.

Raelle, standing a few steps behind him, patted him on the shoulder, telling him to calm down. She locked eyes with Teddy and smiled gently.

"Teddy, what happened?"

Teddy, still taken aback by the sight of Raelle, stammered, "I just thought you should know, boss, that the marriage... it's been causing quite a stir in the office. People are talking."

Liam's brow furrowed even deeper. "I don't care about the meaningless gossip traveling in the office, Teddy. Now, if you don't have any important matters to discuss, I suggest you leave."

Teddy took a step forward, his voice steady. "Actually, boss, there is something we need to talk about."

Liam turned, his curiosity piqued. "What is it, Teddy?"

Taking a deep breath, Teddy said, "I believe it's time we let the media know that your status has changed... that you're married now."

Liam's expression quickly turned grim.

"And make my wife the subject of attention for the paparazzi?" He shook his head and walked into the room. "No, thank you, Teddy."

"But," Teddy began, only to be cut off by Liam's icy glare.

"No, Teddy. And that is final," he said sternly and sat on his seat. "The media is never satisfied. The instant we expose her to them, she'll never be free again; we cannot risk her privacy. Let the media speak if they want to, but I will not put my wife's safety on the line for anything."

Seeing how they were discussing her, forgetting that she was there, Raelle cleared her throat to remind them of her presence.

"Excuse me, gentlemen, I'm still here."

"Sorry, madam," Teddy bowed gently and did not say anything more. He simply turned to Liam and said, "Old master Wilson called. He wants you to come home fo-"

"No," Liam cut him off sternly. "Tell him I'm busy."

"Not you," Teddy quickly turned to Raelle. "She is to bring you."

"Me?" She pointed at herself, and Teddy nodded. Raelle agreed, "Tell him I'll bring him over. When?"

"Tomorrow."

Raelle smiled. "Great. I'll bring him over."

Liam: "..." Was she planning to transport him to his grandfather's place tomorrow? He'd like to see how she would force him to go there tomorrow.

Teddy nodded and smiled. "Thank you, madam. I shall take my leave now. I have some unfinished business at the management department." He bowed low and left the room.

After he had left the room, Liam sighed. He turned to Raelle and said, "Are you really going to go to grandfather's place tomorrow?"

Raelle nodded.

"Hmm. I enjoy his company."

"And mine?" Liam asked, suddenly curious. "Don't you enjoy my own company?"

"You?" Raelle blinked. "Of course. I mean, you aren't boring, and you're not too... Uhm, interesting, too."

She did not mean to say it but she was at a loss of words. So, she had said the only thing that came to her mind.

Liam blinked at her a few times, surprised. "You don't find this face interesting?"

Raelle smiled awkwardly and shrugged. "I'm sorry?" She did not know what to say.

"Hmm. It's fine." Liam nodded, turning to face his work.

'Was he going to be angry at me? But I had only said the truth... After all, he asked me.'

Raelle nodded and brought out her phone. She began to go through the phone; even she was unsure what she was looking for in the phone. She kept stealing glances at her husband so she could see if his expression changes.

But, in fact, his face was plain, unreadable, leaving her confused if he was angry or just simply focused on his work.

She sighed and decided to message Lyra but before she could send a message to her, Lyra had sent a message to her on WhatsApp.

Lyra: What's up? Richfield texted; you got the second lead actress's role.

Raelle blinked twice and reread the message. She almost screamed but quickly covered it with a cough. She was overwhelmed with joy as she typed a message to Lyra.

'Yay! That's awesome news! Thanks, Lyra, I owe you,' Raelle typed quickly.

After a while, her phone vibrated in her hands. She saw it was a message from Lyra, saying 'You deserve it, darling. By the way, did you know that a lot of the ladies in the shop came asking for your husband's number? Pity, he's married.'

Raelle laughed over the message and replied, "Is he that handsome? Or are they all that gullible?"

'Gullible, pfft! I'm not gullible, you idiot!' Lyra texted back. After a few seconds, she sent again: 'He's just so fine, that's all.'

'He is...' Raelle could not help but agree with Lyra as she raised her head up to glance at Liam, momentarily locking eyes with him. She quickly looked away, her face flushing with a tinge of pink.

Liam had turned just in time to see her smiling. He suddenly felt a pang of pain in his heart, seeing her smiling so widely as she chatted.

Who is she chatting with?

He tried to strain his neck, hoping he could catch a glimpse of who it was but his attempt was futile. Ashamed, Liam quickly sunk back into his chair.

'Ah! What is wrong with me today?' he hissed at himself. 'Why am I suddenly jealous?'
