Anew Once Again

One eerie night, in a lake far into the reaches of darkness, deep within it's depths lays a terrifying figure.

There it was! A horrible beast straight from the stories of legends itself. Five terrible heads, each with mighty scales, teeth and eyes. Necks and body ridden with spines of dangerous spikes straight from the torture chambers of Tartarus and scales with the hue of metal from the very depths of the Earth itself. And between the scales was a glow of the most beautiful purple, akin to the luminescence of the cosmos running from their eyes, through each of the heads, along the body and down to the tip of the tail. The ethereal and majestic scales coupled with it's terrifying features pictured a noble behemoth that rules over all. And a behemoth indeed, for now it seemed this Hydra had grown from the size of no less than a Lion to a size comparable to a Blue Whale! Yet it seemed, from its physique and immature body proportions, a behemoth like this was still in it's early stages.

Nevertheless, The Hydra exuded an aura that befits a higher being. And now it seemed this higher being was starting to awaken.

"Grrrk....Grk!..." The Hydra vocalized it's sudden awakening.

Groggily, they slowly regained their senses. They were surprised, It seemed that eating it's own shell was not a mistake after all! For they quickly noticed their reborn body.

' What is this?' They nonverbally thought to themselves.

What indeed, for aside from their new body, they had this inexplicable feeling deep within their draconic heart. They could FEEL the world around them! And they do not mean the original five senses they remembered they were born with. They could feel a connection to.. something, an energy unlike any other it seemed. For unlike the water and the rocks they had seen and felt, matter, this one was unreal, so to say. It felt incredibly chaotic, like an untamable force of nature. It existed everywhere and nowhere it seemed, like a higher force that governs the world.

And they felt what it felt, the urge to keep everything in balance through destruction and chaos. It was a light of hope, and a fire of evil. It balanced on the line of creation and destruction, doing as it pleases. And they thought it was the most beautiful thing ever! All five pairs of eyes seemed to glow in admiration and awe. They wanted to be just like it!

And now, with a new fire in its eyes and another purpose in its hearts, it started exploring both the lake and the energy.

"RAHAHAHAHAHAA" They bellowed in unison, their mere expression of excitement spelling destruction for the lakebed. It seemed their even their voice was powerful!

'Good. A step closer to being an unstoppable force like the Chaos energy' They thought about their new goal in life, become just like the newly-dubbed Chaos energy that birthed them.

In their reverie, Their sheer excitement also influenced the Chaos around them. Through their subconscious will, the energy manifested itself into reality through the young Hydra's body and struck the world with its might.

"BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM" The energy howled and reverberated as it vaporized the lake and even some of the forest where the lake resided resided. The aftermath even filling the air with a noxious gas that refused the existence of life within it's reach. It seemed this poisonous mist was a result of the influence of the Hydra themselves when the Chaos was manifested through their will.

'...' The Hydra immediately fell silent.

Now lying in the crater of nothingness, the Hydra stares at the destruction they unleashed slack jawed, five times. And all of a sudden, something wells up in their heart. Pride, enough to form a whole ego.

"RAAAAAA-" The young Hydra roars jubilantly when suddenly,

The planet is shaking! They could feel it, the planet knows, it saw and it will react. Trees swayed, animals and beasts alike tremble in fear, even mysterious beings of great power feel a knot of tension form in their stomachs.

'Who angered her this time?!' They all thought in their minds.

And then it happened, just out of the Hydra's reach, formed a mysterious being. It had one head, with long green locks of.. very thin shiny scales? The Hydra can only surmise with the knowledge it has of itself. The being also bore two legs and arms without claws or scales. The being currently radiated an aura of beauty and nobility.

The Hydra was appalled, what kind of half-baked looking Hydra was this green being?!

However, it seemed the figure cared not for the young beast's confusion as they began speaking with a tone laced with anger and confusion.

"Greetings, creature of Chaos. I am Gaea, the very planet you have intruded upon and even sullied with your reckless abandon. Now, I ask you, what is your purpose here, young Protogenoi?"

"Gah?" The Hydra expressed with confusion. Though he was proud of being called a creature of Chaos, he had no idea what a planet or 'protojenoy' or whatever was.

"Oh? It seems you were not born with knowledge of anything unlike the others. Could it be? Hmmm....- Wha?! This pure essence, Pure Chaos? Untainted nor restructured by your domain as well! No doubt about it, you are a piece of Chaos itself!" Gaea said with interest.

"bruh?" Five heads vocalized, they had no idea what was happening. This small figure radiated a power that even he, a proud Hydra had trouble fathoming. It seemed even they had to be cautious of this "Gaea".

"Hmmm, but this cannot be! If you are just free to roam wherever without knowledge of anything, the destruction you can cause would be catastrophic. Very well then, 'brother', I will allow you to exist and thrive on my being. Here, consider this a gift of goodwill." Gaea suddenly formed a wisp of something in her hand, and it immediately flew into the center head of our Hydra.

"Grah!" They exclaim in vigilance, but reluctantly decid to accept the 'gift' since they felt a connection to the green woman ever since she appeared. For the Hydra, who has only ever felt sibling-like bond like this between their own conjoined heads, decided to trust her.

It was like a big explosion just happened in their connected minds, and knowledge started flooding in their heads. Protogenoi, Titans, Gods, Nature, value, sin, and magic, they gained a basic understanding of them. They learned that protogenoi are beings of great power born from Chaos herself as basic components of the Universe.

They learned that there are many of them all throughout the Universe and the 'Pantheons' around the world. But most importantly he learned that he was closest to the Greek protogenoi' the most. Nyx, Erebus, Ananke, Gaea and so many more! The young Hydra was quite excited to see his family, and inevitably, test his mettle against them and the Titans he just learned of.

It seemed the Hydra had grown quite the ego, and were very enthralled in the thrill of power, but as was expected of the Chaos-born beast. With all this new information, the Hydra was eager to develop and see the world, and most importantly become the creature of Chaos they were meant to be! So with excited steps, they set off t-

"Now now! Don't think this was all for free, young one! I demand that in exchange for permission to roam freely within my domain and the knowledge I just gave you, you mus'nt destroy my domain without reason!"

"guuh.." The Hydra was annoyed about this concept of 'exchange' he just learned of but he supposed that to be truly like Chaos, he must not only destroy, but also restore! Indeed, they felt they were closer to reaching that goal every passing moment! To become a true sovereign of everything and nothing, free of everything and nothing at the same time. This was their calling, they decided.

( So you may have noticed that the Hydra seems a little too immature and too passive even with their pride. This was not without reason, especially considering that the Hydra was just born from its egg like barely a day ago. Don't worry this will change, and while I decided that I wanted the Character to seem like he is really a beast of legend and Chaos, I also wanted a bit of growth. Gaea in this story may seem less arrogant and petty than in others, but that's because she knows the MC is just a little hatchling at heart. And besides, who said she didn't benefit at all from this? She just scammed a beast of Chaos into not destroying things without reason, but of course the that probably won't work out that well )
