Chapter 115: The Servant who takes care of a pregnant woman

Ever since she had been tasked to take care of Xi Muxue, she had been attending a professional training course for nurses of pregnant women. This was because all her tasks now revolved around taking care of Mu Xue.

Last Saturday, under Xi Muxue's command, Uncle Liu drove to the bookstore and specially bought a large pile of books for pregnant women.

Of course, they were not for Xi Muxue to read. They were bought for Mu Ru to read. Mu Xue said, "My task is to take care of the baby in my stomach and make sure it grows and stays healthy. You, Xi Muru, can do other things for me since you're my nurse. Why should I be the one to read? Just tell me when you've read the books."

Mu Ru read the books and watched over Xi Muxue every day. Every night when Dongfang Yu returned, she would retreat to her room to read the books.

Ttaking care of Xi Muxue was not an easy task. She had a special diet, and there were foods and dishes that have been prepared especially for her. However, Mu Xue had become pickier with food. She would often crave for something to eat, and when it has already been prepared, she would end up not eating it.

The previous morning, many dishes have been prepared for Mu Xue's breakfast. The entire table was filled with various dishes. However, she told them that she wasn't in the mood to eat any of the foods. She then asked Mu Ru to make fresh shrimp dumplings for her.

Mu Ru was about to tell her that she was unsure whether they had fresh shrimp at home. Mu Ru knew that she would have to go to the market to buy some. Mu Ru felt that it would take too much time. By the time she had cooked the dumplings for Mu Xue, it would already be lunchtime.

However, before she could say anything, she heard Mother Liu's voice echoing from the dining room. "Second Young Madam, I don't think the first young madam is quialified to take care of you. Why don't I report this situation to the first young master today and let your maid or your mother take care of you?"

Xi Muxue immediately fell silent after Mother Liu spoke. Even though Mother Liu was not a member of the Dongfang family, she was a highly valued servant and cook because she was Dongfang Mo and Dongfang Yu's wet nurse. She was mainly in charge of breakfast and supper of the family, and there were other chefs who were assigned to prepare larger meals for other occasions.

Perhaps because of what Mother Liu had said to her, Xi Muxue did not eat much for breakfast in the past few days. However, she would always find something for Mu Ru to do. She never gave Mu Ru a moment's rest.

That afternoon, after having lunch, Xi Muxue told Mu Ru that she felt dizzy. Mu Ru told her to go upstairs to rest for a while, but she also said that climbing the stairs was tiring. Mu Xue then asked Mu Ru to go upstairs and bring down her blanket so she could lie down on the sofa for a while.

Mu Ru quickly told her that, according to what she had read in the books, it was not good for a pregnant woman to lie down in a place that was too soft, because it could affect the development of the fetus. All the sofas inside the Dongfang house were very soft, so Mu Ru told her it would be better if she went upstairs instead to rest.

However, Xi Muxue refused to agree. She rudely accused Mu Ru of being jealous of her pregnancy, and she took the opportunity to scold Mu Ru. She even accused Mu Ru of cursing her unborn child.

Mu Ru did not argue with her. She just thought that Mu Xue was acting crazy, so she ignored her. She simply took her packet of flower seeds and walked to the south section of the garden to plant them.
