First love leap To The future And Back

Confessing to her love was the hardest thing Mai ever had to do. Countless sleepless nights, thinking over and over again what to say. Imagining the great things that could happen to them once he said yes! All of that, for her to get turned down with a simple “No!” ‘At least tell me why?’ She thought. However, she never did find out. Crying herself to sleep, thinking of how embarrassing that single moment was, a sweet dream appeared... Ten years in the future, she was crying once again. Only this time, she was wearing a black dress and in front of her was the photo... of him. “It must be hard for you to have lost your husband.” A woman said. “Husband?” Having no memories of why she was there or what had happened, there was only one thing she could think. “Is this a dream?” Upon returning back to her bedroom, she would soon find out... it wasn’t a dream…. Soon Mai would find herself switching back between the future and present, all for the sake of love.

Stuck in the future!

After having quite the talk with Simon, Mai was at a loss for what to do. The sun was starting to set and she wondered when she would return to her own world. The only thing she knew was sometimes when she had slept or passed out, she would switch between the two, which was what made her think the whole thing was most likely to be a dream.

'I guess I'll just sleep in 'my' bedroom.' She thought, but as she laid there in a place that felt unfamiliar yet familiar at the same time, her mind would think about all sorts of things.

'Everything is set up how I would do it, but I don't know this place at all. You would think if I came here as my future self that I would have memories of the time. I wonder if when I go back if the current one has memories of what I have done, or if it's just a blank period.'

Thinking about all of this, she was debating whether or not leaving the note was a good idea. Still, she thought if anything could help out the current Simon, she might as well have done it.

Closing her eyes, she tried her best to get some sleep but it was a struggle. Many people say if your mind is full of thoughts it is impossible to fall asleep. She started to go through all the methods, counting sheep in her head, exercising, but she was the type of person who never did any physical activity in the first place, so she quickly scratched that idea.

Eventually her mind started to drift away naturally in the early hours of the morning and she had fallen asleep, only to be woken up by someone banging at the door. Waking up dazed, she looked around the room to see if she knew where she was.

'I just fell asleep right now, but why am I still here? Damn, am I going to be stuck here forever!'

*Knock Knock*

The knocking at the door was constant, but Mai was far more concerned if she would ever leave this world or not. She continued to hope that maybe if she fell asleep again she would return.

*Knock Knock*

The knocking on the door that had woken her continued much to Mai's annoyance and honestly, she wasn't really in the best of moods to go and answer it.

'What if it's someone the current Mai knows and I don't? That would be troublesome and I'm not the best when it comes to thinking of things on the spot.'

"Mai, is everything okay, are you still in there?" The concerned voice shouted through the door.

That's when she had recognised the voice and knew that it was Simon.

'Did he forget something?' She thought as she got out of bed to answer the door. When she opened the door, Simon appeared to be covered in sweat and was huffing and panting like he had just run here.

"Phew, I thought something might have happened to you. Remember someone has just murdered your husband so it's not a stretch of the imagination to think they could be after you as well." Simon warned, but once he caught his breath and was let in inside he gave a smile.

"So what did you forget?" Mai asked, disregarding Simon's warning. Her mind was somewhere else as she wondered when she could confirm this was the future. Which would only be in a couple of days when the bank robbery was meant to take place. If the video was uploaded online it would confirm everything.

The next second before she knew it, Simon had run up to her and given her a big hug.

"I'm so happy that the two of us started talking again, you don't know how much I regret the things I've done. I always thought if I could have gone back in the past and done things differently then maybe things wouldn't have been so awkward between us. I'm sorry Mai, for everything. What I did that day, I should have asked you.."

Now Mai was really confused and pushed the teary eyed Simon off her. As she was just about to ask what happened, one of Simon's tears flew onto the green gem of her necklace and it started to light up once again.

It didn't take long and before she knew it, she had woken up and could see Shirley staring right back at her with a concerned look.

"She's awake guys! It looks like she'll be fine." Shirley shouted.

Looking around, this time she realised that she was in the same dressing room that she was in before and when she looked down, she could see her body covered up by someone's jacket.

"Are we still in the shop? How long has it been?" Mai asked.

"I don't know how long you've been like this, but when you didn't come out for a while I came in checking on you to see if you were okay, and I found you passed out. You have a little bump on the back of your head, you might want to have that looked at and I have no clue what happened to your clothes. But don't worry." Shirley said, giving a wink. "Chris is buying you some clothes right now as a treat."

At that moment, she could hear the sound of the scanner from the till bleeping and Chris talking to the cashier.

'It's just like what Simon said.' Mai thought.

"None of the boys saw me, did they?" Mai asked.

"Simon wanted to come rushing in to see if you were okay but I stopped him and Chris managed to pull him back in time. When I informed them of the situation Chris offered to buy the clothes for you straight away, then he said we could look into what happened."

So far everything she had learned in her dream world had come true, and if that was the case then the clothes wouldn't be found in the shop at all. At a later time they would be found in Simon's locker at school and all the blame would be pinned on him.'

'If I know what's going to happen, maybe I can stop it.' Mai thought. Now she couldn't wait to catch the real culprit red handed.
