Future holds

Soon Vanita slowly went back to normal, and her warm smile returned. Their exams were approaching fast and they had to study.

Vanita had an advantage of having a smart boyfriend. She made Rimuel stay awake at night to teach her what she could not understand.

Finally, the week of their final exams started. They went to school did their exams, slept, ate, and studied together till they ended.

"Bestie what are you going to do during our holiday " Essie asked Vanita.

She shook her head, "Nothing, staying home with Rimuel "

Rimuel nodded in agreement.

"You two are crazy but okay, well if you get to need me, I will be at my grandparent's place " Essie hugged her friend and walked away with Eric.

They drove home, and Vanita hugged Cass.

"Uncle Cass am starving. The exams were hard " she frowned.

Ricky ran to the kitchen and brought her some soup, "I made this knowing you would be hungry " he smiled passing it to her.

She pulled Rimuel closer and shared it with him. After they were done he told her to go up and rest.

"Is Dad in his office?" he asked. Cass nodded.

Rimuel walked to his father's office to help with his business.

During dinner, Rimuel's father said, "Why don't we go for a family trip".

Vanita agreed " That is great, Dad. so where are we going "

Ricky smiled, "Let's go to our beach house, it's been a long since we went there"

The others agreed and soon everyone was making preparations for the family trip.

"Dad, I want my best next to Vanita" Rimuel said before they booked plane tickets.

"You getting spoilt now, let the girl breathe. you're always around here it makes me dizzy every time I see it " his father pushed him out of his office.

They left on the weekend, and as he had requested. He was next to his girlfriend on the plane. Their hired cars hand already parked at the airport. They drove off to the beach house.

Vanita expected a normal house but it was a huge mansion. They gave her the most huge room even when she refused.

"Sweetie, you're our jewel now. And we won't be good gentlemen if we didn't try a lady well " Cass pushed her into the room.

Rimuel carried in her luggage and told her to rest. They would hold a small family party later in the evening.

She laid down on the bed and smiled.

"Mom, Dad, I miss you. But am happy cause my new family treats me well " she murmured and closed her eyes to rest.

It was Six in the evening when Rimuel woke her.

"Love, it's time to wake up " he kissed her forehead.

She smiled and woke up, he told her to get changed and come down. stairs.

She took a shower and choose a simple white dress then walked down the stairs.

They had decorated the outside with lights, especially around the pool. The lights reflected in the water making everything look beautiful.

Ricky and Cass were at the other side of the pool making barbecue, while Rimuel and his dad were chatting next to them.

She silently walked to them. "There is my little sweet girl " Rimuel's Father smiled opening his arms.

Vanita smiled took his hands and sat next to him.

"You slept too much, was the trip that long," he asked.

"Yeah, and am hungry " she giggles.

Rimuel turned to Ricky and Cass, "My girlfriend is hungry "

Cass shouted back, "We are almost done with the first batch "

They laughed.

They ate and told each other stories. Vanita said what she wanted to do and then Rimuel.

"I want to be a lawyer, I have some knowledge since I used to help dad with some cases," she said.

They all agreed. Rimuel just said he was already doing business with his dad so it was that.

She took a walk with Rimuel after dinner at the beach. The waves were strong he held her hand as they moved.

"You want to be a lawyer?" he asked.

"Yes, I want to be better and still honor my dad's memory " she smiled.

They walked. "And Dad and I will be here to support you "

They sat down watching the start night, he was still holding her hand.

"What do you think the future holds for us " she laid back on his shoulder.

"I don't know, but as long as you still hold my hand then we can face it together " he kissed her head.

They watched the stars in silence oblivious of the dark future they were going to face.
