"The Day We Met"

Hillview High School, Isla's classroom

"Hey, Isla! Why are you still here? The teachers told us to gather at the school auditorium. Come on, we are almost late" said Davina, one of Isla's best friends who is always a carefree and cheerful girl.

"Oh! Sorry. I totally forget about it. Lets hurry" said Isla who looked lost and a bit confused.

"You're always absent minded these days, Isla. Did August troubled you again?" said Davina, jokingly. Then, the two girls hurried to the school auditorium.

It is lunch break. Isla and her two friends, Davina & Celine stood at the school corridor, having a chat and laughs. Isla look around the school campus and saw August at one side of the corner, sitting and chatting with some girls. She watched August for a while and then smiled. Celine noticed Isla smiling and asked "Look at you, Isla. You saw August sitting and chatting with some other girls; but you still smile happily like an idiot. Aren't you jealous at all?"

"I knew August very well, Celine. He spent time with different girls all the time; he didn't take any of them seriously. Even if he is not a playboy, he will never be interested in someone like me. So, just being able to see him is enough for me. I won't ask for more" replied Isla, who now look a bit down. Then she look at August and smiled again.

"Did you like him that much, Isla?" asked Davina, seeming more curious than before. Isla didn't respond and just smiled again.

At night, Isla looked through her books and take out her diary, where she wrote all her feelings about August and the time they spend together. At the first page, there was a story about the first time she met August; and Isla recall in her mind, the day they met:

It was 2 years ago, in the month of summer. The whole school is preparing for the upcoming school annual sports. Isla, along with her friends and one cousin named Alvin, went home together. They chat and shared their excitement for the upcoming annual sports. Isla's cousin, Alvin heard someone calling his name from behind "Alvin, wait for us". As they look back, it was August with his classmate. They soon catch up with them and introduced each other. Being a playboy, August was all flirt around Isla. Alvin was one year Isla's junior at school and August was Alvin's classmate, which made August one year junior than Isla's at school. That day, Isla's looked up August only as his brother's friend, though all their friends tell them to pair up as they look good together. From that day on onwards, August and Isla become friends and spend some time together.

As Isla's recall her first meeting with August, she laughs and said to herself "The day we met, I never imagine that I would like you this much. I don't know how I became interested in you, August. Maybe time drew me to you. You are my biggest dream but I don't dare to tell you. I found myself falling harder for you each day. I don't know how to stop my heart. I only know that I love you."
