Chapter. 13. Persistent action.

Nair: "Wait, are you by chance Chub's family?".

Belis: "Yes, I'm.....Do you know him?". confused.

Nair: "Wow, really! Chub did tell us that he had a cousin in the United. Actually we are old friends and..... even Aai knows him!".

They talked then Nair had to answer a call so he left. There was silence between the girls.

Aai sat with her dog, while Belis glanced at Aai.

"Senior do.... you leave alone? Your parent....are they out?".

Aai paused for a while, holding her dog answered, "That's none of your concern". She answered in a blunt way which made Belis apologize to her.

Aai's dog looked at Aai with a sad look. "I'm returning to my room". Aai just got up and walked away.

Nair soon came back from his call, seeing Belis alone asked about Aai.

Belis: "I think I asked something which I shouldn't, I'm....sorry!".

Nair didn't say anything.

The following days,

After few days, as Aai was walking behind the school grounds during her break, she saw a girl arguing with the other girl who seem to be Belis, "how could you do this to me, I HATE YOU". Slapping Belis she ran away crying.

"Ouch, it hurts!", saying Belis sat on a bench.

Aai walked away.

After a while, "Here!".

Belis looked up to see Aai handing over a cold drink. She took it and with embarrassment looked down.

Aai without a word sat on that bench having her drink.

"Just why am I getting so involved with this girl?" she thought.

Belis: "Senior actually...."

Aai: "I'm not interested", she cut Belis off.

"...", Belis didn't say a word next. She glanced towards Aai to see her sitting with her eyes closed.

The next days Belis would somewhere or other try meeting Aai for which Aai got irritated and asked, "Do you have a problem? Your actions, it's irritating".

Belis: "Senior I want to be with you".

Aai: "HUH...?".

Belis: "Senior please be my friend". she offered her hand to Aai.

Aai: "I'm not interested. Stop following me". saying she went away.

Belis didn't give up she would still try meeting Aai who refused many times. Then thinking she would soon give up Aai didn't say anything. While Belis would still continue.

One day as Aai was trying to avoid Belis, she meets a girl on the terrace.

She was the same girl who had an argument with Belis.

She looked scared of Aai, "Could...you let...Belis go?".

Aai didn't understand.

The girl continued, "I...was with Belis, but then she stopped being with me and.....and now she's with you. I know she's rich but.... can you stop threatening her".

Aai got irritated, "Who do you think am I?"

The girl flinched. Aai left her alone there and when she was walking down the stairs, she meets Belis, "There you are senior, I was looking for you....Here actually I had some snacks and wanted to share with you so... "

Aai: "Could you stop this!".

Belis: "Senior?... ".

Aai: "I've told you many times and now I'm repeating it again, stop following me". saying Aai went away.

Belis stood there.

Since that day Belis didn't show up to school.

Aai's conscious kept troubling her for doing that to Belis which kept Aai in bad mood.

At the cafe,

Elly: "...ai.....Aai...hey Aai!".

Aai: "...Ah! What?". Aai came out from her thoughts.

Elly: "No it's...The order's ready so".

Aai: "oh!". saying she goes out to serve the customers.
