When I woke up in another dimension, surrounded by nothingness and a ROB. I did not know I would be offered to quest around the multiverse to fix different problems or gain power. But we both knew the real reason; it was more than simply questing across the multiverse. It was my journey to become more and find my purpose. Entry 64:
(In all honesty, my readers, when it comes to the main cast of high school DXD, I feel like I am writing myself into a corner as if I were to involve myself in any way with the cast, he would be forced to help them because peace negotiation reasons and he wouldn't be able to say no and I'm trying to make my character independent at least as much as I can.)
Linus Ozias POV:
Well, my welcome to Japan was what I expected because as soon as I arrived, I realized since I couldn't fly nor teleport in unauthorized space, I would have to find my way to Kyoto another way.
And so I thought, oh, I will just take the train since I do not have access to a vehicle, and then I remembered I'm 8 feet tall, so I just decided to ride atop the train using an experimental notice me not spell.
As I arrived, I had barely noticed two presences, with one a lot more experienced than the other as the more experienced of the two felt like a ghost, like a part of the shadows, while the other was blinking in and out as if trying to maintain an illusion.
And to my surprise, it was the illusionary Yokai himself, Nurarihyon.
And what surprised me further was that Yasaka's daughter was there as well.
Kunou was exactly as I expected, a perpetual ball of positive energy just as any child should be, and while I see the weight of responsibility beginning to set, she's still in that transitionary period.
When Kunou asked if she could ride on my shoulders, I accepted purely because she reminded me of my nieces and nephews back in my previous life.
In all honesty, they were all little shits, but they were my brother's little shits, so I liked them.
As I conversed with the illusionary Yokai Lord, I found myself intrigued by this place's culture, not to the extent of becoming a weeb, but just seeing all of these mythical creatures come to life is still an experience.
But when I noticed that some of them, actually a decent number of them, were staring at me, I questioned the Yokai Lord.
And when he said I was radiating pure nature energy, I attributed that to my broken limiter essence, making me a more powerful angel.
So, as it has been a day since I placed more charges and I did not place any charges the day before the mission, I had ten charges to use, and thus, I put five charges into my comforting presence, as I call it.
The effects were nearly immediate as the little fox on my head almost started purring, and if I had seen this from a video, I would have died due to pure cuteness.
Make no mistake, though, I knew I was being watched as I felt a presence watching me as soon as I had to Kyoto, and it was not just the leader of the Yokai faction nor the Yokai Lord beside me but Divine Presences.
But then something unexpected happened, and a group of what seemed like Rogue magicians attacked us out of nowhere and said nothing before striking us.
At that moment, I believed that this wasn't a shounen anime as they said nothing. It didn't shout out any of their attacks, which is not the right etiquette.
But I can't really say anything on that because I just pulled out my spirit, knocked them away, and used their sudden confusion to practice my aspect of control and essentially shut down their nervous systems.
Let it be clear, though, that this control could become very powerful, but at this moment, I can only use it on those weaker than myself around a class, so at this moment, I could only use it on high-class beings or lower.
As the Yokai Lord looked at me with what looked like trepidation, I attempted to light the mood with a little pun, which seemingly somewhat worked, as I could still see the suspicion in his eyes.
And as I let the little fox out of the barrier I placed her in so as to not threaten her safety, she immediately crawled on me like I was a redwood and she was trying to climb to the highest tree branch.
To calm her down, I began patting her head as it seemed like the classic thing to do in this situation, which somewhat worked.
Note to self: put more charges into the head-patting skill later.
At that moment, I spent the last five charges I had with one more going into my cooking skill, thus making me a planetary-level cook, and the other four towards my magic sense so that I may be more attuned to the esoteric force.
At that moment, my view lit up as a variety of colors surrounded us, and yet none could seemingly see them. And I felt like I could manipulate it, but there were enough distractions.
"Lord Nurarihyon, It seems that we have met the welcoming party, yet I have no idea what they would have attempted to do here as they were only high class at best," I say to the lord of illusions as he shrugs and states.
"It is nothing you need concern yourself with as these attacks have become more frequent in the past couple of weeks as they have been trying to harm our leader by kidnapping her daughter."
Based on his tone of voice, I can definitely tell that this is not his first rodeo with these clowns, which does bring to mind if this is the Khaos Brigade's work or just the hero faction specifically, as all of these magicians are human.
But that shouldn't be right. The hero faction should only attack this place halfway through the year.
Then I remind myself the butterfly effect exists, and while I am immune to most forms of precognition, I am not immune to the butterfly effect.
As I do attempt my best attempt at a subtle scan of the city, I do sense a variety of energy signatures, with some being Devils, fallen angels, and humans, but I can't tell if they're sacred gear users from this distance.
As Nura (I am going to call him Nura in the Mc's head) and I move further towards the Yokai quarter, I hold the magicians in a cage as the group floats behind us unconscious.
But it is somewhat disturbing as I feel the little fox poking the unconscious bodies.
After a couple more minutes of walking, we find ourselves in front of a large ornate palace/shrine that basically screams feudal Japanese.
But before reaching the stairs, Nura proceeds to do a bow, which I then do, thinking of the local deities for not striking me down as soon as I attempted to enter their nation.
I swear I was imagining this, but I felt the sun grow a little hotter on the back of my neck.
But then something unexpected happens as I feel two new presences enter the shrine.
One of the presences was definitely Yasaka, but the other two felt entirely different.
The first feels like being next to the surface of the sun, with the other reminding me of an impending storm.
And it seems that the others around us have recognized the presence as they begin to bow full kowtow as well, with Nura bending to one knee as I do the same.
It would be easier if Kunou stopped purring and moving around.
I tried to move her onto the ground, but she was stuck to me like a cat on a scratching post, and then I realized she'd fallen asleep.
Luckily, she feels like she barely weighs more than 10 pounds, and I leave her to sleep with Nura, chuckling like a troll as he watches me become an angelic air mattress.
But the giggling Yokai then goes silent as the three presences exit the shrine.
The first is a beautiful kitsune woman dressed in a rather provocative golden yukata with long blond hair and rather bright near, golden eyes with her nine tails flowing behind her in a near hypnotic manner.
The second is a rather bright woman wearing a long flowing white robe with black hair reminiscent of a classic jade beauty from the cultivation novels and features to match as her presence feels warm and familiar.
The third is a rough-looking man with half of his chest exposed and a straw hat on his head with a katana sheathed at his side that oozes battle lust and looks at me with pure excitement.
But before anyone can say anything, the man at the top of the stairs rushes towards me with his sword. I then infuse my hands with holy power as a form of pseudo-reinforcement and grab the sword while placing a barrier near Kunou so she is unaffected by the force of the slash.
Because the first rule of taking care of any children is not to wake them up from their naps unless absolutely necessary.
The man then smiles with a wicked look in his eye and simply says, "Fight me."
The woman with black hair then sighs and places her hands on her face as the Kitsune giggles at the man's antics, which sort of annoys me as the man nearly slashes at me with a sword.
"I would welcome any attempt to improve myself, but the setting does not match what is required, and while I would assume I know your identity, I would like you to confirm it for me."
The man then laughs loudly, reminding me of August from Asura's Wrath as he states, "Well, my Angelic friend, as it is common courtesy, I Am Susanno, Lord of Storms, Master Of The Blade, Wielder of Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi and Slayer of Yamato No Orochi."
He pauses, readies his blade, and says, "But you may simply call me your opponent."
As he is about to launch into his next attack, he is then bonked on the head by who I assume is Amaterasu.
The goddess then sighs and states, "I am Amaterasu, Goddess of the Sun and Ruler of these lands, and we welcome you, Anakim, to our home, and may the light provide."
I then bow my head while saying, "I already feel honored being in the presence of such l legends, and I thank you all for your generosity and for Lord Susanno not striking me with more of his strength."
The God then rubs his head and sighs, "Of course, I would not want to harm little Yasaka'a kid, or Ama would have my head."
Before he could continue saying anything, his sister then bonks him on the head again, and he tumbles onto the stairs.
As the goddess beckons us upstairs into the shrine, I pick up Lord Susanno as he just looks done with life while attempting to remove the little fox from my head, but she still refuses to let go.
Yasaka then says something into Kunou's ear, and she wakes up immediately and dashes inside like a road runner.
The look I gave the nine tails must have amused her as she began to giggle as she stated, "Oh my, who knew that the big strong Angel was not able to remove a child from his head."
This is going to be those types of days, is it not?
"Well, Lady Yasaka, some things do require a woman's touch, and I was afraid of harming the child." Yasaka then smiles behind her fan as she walks forward. "It's alright. Anakim-sama Kunou simply likes you, which is surprising as she is very picky with whom she likes."
I just smile and say with no hidden intent, "Children are the future, my lady, and they should be treated as such, as they are both the precious part of the future and ourselves."
This response somewhat surprised her, and we headed inside the shrine in comfortable silence with Yasaka walking with a sway that did not go unnoticed.
